Hi all
xx

sorry Mo ... it's tax time here. We have to get all out bits of paper together and get them filed by the end of the month. I always leave it to the last minute! We do have an accountant who does the actual filing, but we still have to find all those bits ................ receipts for charity donations, emdical receipts, T4s (receipts that show how much you have been paid in salary or pension), etc etc. The medical receipts is the worse one ...... and that is my responsibility! OH does all the rest.

re the lottery ......... we won $1000 (ca £400 or so) a few weeks ago, and that is the largest amount we have won in all the years we've been buying the tickets. We buy 3 a week ....... one is drawn on both Saturday and Wednesday, and the other only on a Friday. We always play the same numbers.

You'd think they would have come up for a big win at least once wouldn't you? lol!!

take care everyone

Caz .... so sorry to hear you are feeling so rotten. (((xxx)))

FRIDAY Mo

Mo in Kent Report 13 Apr 2011 20:15

Hello everyone.

Now I don't know if I am going crazy, but I have got it written on my calender, that Jean is due to have her MRI Scan done tomorrow, and yet I am also sure that Jean said it was due to be done on Friday.
Please Jean, if you are looking in, will you let me know.
Wether it's tomorrow or Friday, you are in my prayers love, for a good outcome. As long as they can tell you what is causing the Vertigo, and cure it for you, it will be a blessing.

Caz, I do hope the symptoms of the chemo ease off soon. Have they said
that they will subside, as I remember your saying that it had never been this bad before.
I know the Firbro-Myalgia is something that has to be lived with, and that it is very very painful for you. But the other symptoms are making you feel worse arn't they love. Does the warmer weather help you at all Caz.
I know that it definately helps with my Arthritus, but the athritus is affecting my hands badly now. I am finding it difficult to grip things properly, and have now become a one fingered typist.
I spilt a cup of coffee everywhere yesterday, because I hadn't gripped it properly.

It's good to hear that Joyce's feet are staring to feel more comfortable.
Could Joyce ride on the footpath's by her home, instead of the road, on her scooter. The sooner she gets the hang of it, the more independant she will feel. And she will then be able to go and visit her friend that lives locally to her, for a nice chat.

Huia, no tsunami here, thank god, just freezing temperatures again today.
It's like being back to winter weather. In fact I have had to put the heating back on again, I have been that cold today.
Any more news on the dreaded Rats love.

I hope that our Sallie is feeling a little better, we do miss seeing her posting.
It's strange not hearing how her and Alun are faring. (((((HUGS))))) for Sallie.

And where has Sylvia got to, I miss hearing from her as well.
It's so nice to get news from over the waters, from Huia, Sylvia and Marie.

I will say bye bye for now girls. Take care one and all. Love Mo xxx

Ooops hi there Tess and Ann and anyone I may have missed.

YorkshireCaz Report 13 Apr 2011 18:42

I'm here Huia, not been too well lately, it's the chemo that's making me feel rough, even my hair has started to come out. Then my fibro myalgia is bad and my back is playing up, why does it all come at once. As you can tell I am a bit fed up lately. I got two lovely bunches of flowers from my friends on here which cheered me up no end. Speaking to Joyce this morning and she says her feet have started to feel better so that's a good thing. She hasn't been out on her scooter yet and Jan says she hasn't to go out on the road on her own because she has no road sence, even though the village they live in is very quiet with not many cars about.
Sorry to go on but to say I am fed up is an understatement, hopefully I will be back to my normal self soon.

Love Caz xx

Hello Mo, I was beginning to wonder if a tsunami had washed all my English friends away.

Mo in Kent Report 12 Apr 2011 20:33

Good evening girls.
Sylvia, Huia, oh how we all wish we could win the lottery. We have never had a big win, I think the most we have had is about £20/ £30.
Roly does his numbers religiously every Wednesday, and Saturday. He even does the Euro lottery, and that has been an enormous amount of money at times, something like a hundred million euro's.
I keep telling him he is wasting his money, but his response is " you have to be in it to win it ".

I had some good news today. My grandaughter rang me, and she has passed her driving test, at her very first attempt. She is only 18, and she now wants a car. But apart from the expence of buying the vehicle, the insurance for someone her age is astronomical.
If she buys a car for lets say £1,000. her insurance would be double that.
She is such a lovely girl, and works very hard in her job, but I have no idea how she will ever be able to afford a vehicle.

I hope that Sallie, Jean ,Caz, and Joyce are on the mend, and that Ann is still enjoying her holiday.
Lets hope that Marie is not inundated with to many invitations, and gets a little time to get some rest and relaxation.
Tess, come back and see us when you are up to it love.

Bye for now my friends. Love Mo xxx

I quite agree. In fact our $34 million should be more than enough for most people, although having said that, I am sure I could easily use it, what with sharing with relatives, and I think I once promised Liz (the purple one) that if I won either I would come to visit her or I would help her to visit me, or possibly help her get her house finished. And of course there are some favourite charities that would benefit.

I can always dream, but it would be nice to win something, even if it is only $1000. I am well overdue to visit the dentist and I wouldnt mind a bit of special work done on my teeth.

This one is not allowed to go above $50 million ................. so if it isn't won, they increase the number of $1 million prizes.

I think $50 million is more than enough!!

Huia Report 12 Apr 2011 04:58

Sylvia, when our Lotto top prize gets over $30 million it has to be distributed. If the top numbers are not drawn then it goes down to the lower divisions. But last Saturday there were 2 people with the top numbers so they shared the $34 million, that was $17 million between them. More than enough I would so. Unfortunately I wasnt one of them :(((

Hi everyone
xx

It was a lovely sunny day today ....................... although it had been forecast to rain!

Tess ....... after seeing what OH has gone through, I don't think I'd have the courage to have implants done!

Fortunately, I have pretty good teeth, despite being brought up during the war, with all its rationing!

Our large lottery was not won last Friday ...................

So this Friday it will be worth $50 million with 37 $1 million prizes.

we will, as always, buy our tickets on Friday afternoon!

Sorry ladies. I have been either busy or sleeping!
Will be busy again over the next few days. Will try to get back t chat soon.
Sylvia, if I win on the lottery orpremiun bond, I shall treat myself to implants. Other than that I will just have to keep going round with gaps in the teeth.

Jean, caz, Joyce, Sallie and anyone else who i not well at the moment, thinking of you all, hoping you will soon feel better.

Hi to Quinsgran, hope that you continue to "visit".

Mo in Kent, my hair used to be very dark brown/black. It is now mainly white, with a little area of brown at the back.

Hello to you all,
I just lost the lot, so once more, I see Jean is a little better but Caz is having a bad time with the Chemo, and Dutch has gout ,No Joy in their lives or their Husbands lives it must be hard for them also.
Sending good Vibes to the three of you.

The Hayward Reunion is in Mackay QLD on Sat.1 st & Sun 2 nd of October.
I have spent the last Week on the computer looking up dates , and trying to find Hayward relatives in NSW. also trying to find some reasonable
Accomodation In Mackay for myself as I will need to be there on the thursday which means I need a bed for 3 night's and the cheapest I have found so far is $135.00 a night & it doesn't include breakfast so $135 by 3 = $405 + my Air Fare over $700 plus Meals, a lot of money.

I am trying to live on the smell of an oily rag to save some money.

I must be off I need to go and sit for awhile then have a nice cuppa and my night pills I will watch a little TV to try and switch the mind off the family research.
Love & Hugs to everyone. Almost forgot,
Quinsgran, I hope you put your head in again it is always nice to have a newcomer. Welcome** Wistles and Cheer's** from one and all.
Love from over the POND Marie.

Sylvia, that dental bill is unbelievable. having said that, if all that work was done here it would be about the same as I would have to be done privately I'm sure.

Huia good luck again with the vermin. And hope you changed your trousers.

Jean will think of you on Friday and hope they can solve the head conundrum.

Sadly I see the weather at home is set to turn cooler next week. Ours here varies, yesterday was lovely sunny and hot, today cloudy and warm with bursts of sun.

Hope all our poorly friends will soon feel better.

Nice to see you Jean and Mo. Yes Mo, I wondered the same as you.

It looks as if everybody had a lazy day 'yesterday', or were you all too busy to come on here?

I am going to town this morning, will try to exchange the expensive trousers I bought for something else, then will go to do my turn in the Hospice shop.

Oh darn it, I have just lost a long post that I had written to you all.

Jean, is your appointment at 9.00a.m or 9.00p.m. It must be a.m if it's all going to be over by lunch time.
Are you trying to confuse me again, you know it doesn't take much dont you. LOL
It's nice to hear that you had a good time at the 70th tea party. It's nice to meet up with friends you have not seen in a while.

We have had a lazy day today, after all the work we have done in the garden over the last few days, we deserved it.

It's been another glorious day here in Kent, but lets hope and pray, that this is not going to be like last year, when we had a few nice days in April, and then the weather changed for the worst, and we didn't get a proper summer at all.

Well girls, I will love you and leave you for now.
Take care of yourselves. Love Mo xxx

Good morning everyone, beautiful day here , wish we could go out, but we are grid locked , major road works outside the house, no sign of work men , we are on the second busiest road in England, and all the sunday drivers are out and causing all sorts of mayhem, so we will stay put, we went to a 70 th tea party yesterday, it was lovely just 25 of us some friends we hadnt seen for years, just sarnies and cake and a good natter, best part it didnt go on all night so it was a really good idea...
Still having problems with the silly head, but Friday may sort something out, hope its for the best...I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers I am going for the scan at 9.0 am so it should be all over by lunchtime...

thinking about all our poorly friends Joyce, Caz Sallie and anyone who needs a hug, (((((((( X ))))))))) have some on me, we would be lost without each other, well I would...

Huia Report 9 Apr 2011 06:21

The rats must have found some of the bait we put down several years ago before we got our cat as they have not touched the current bait (I have counted the lumps put out) and it contains no anticoagulant rodenticides. I see 'the acive ingredient is 940g/Kg powdered corncob in the form if a pellet'. 'Droppings will change from black to blonde indicating that rodents demise is now imminent.' I hope it works.

Huia, please be very careful with the rats urine. As it can cause Wields Disease.
I had to google for the spelling of it LOL.
And according to the site I was looking at, the rats also carry fleas.
As Sylvia said, it does appear that one or more of the rats have eaten the poison. Well lets hope so anyway love. I hope you manage to find them if they do die, or otherwise they will small the house out.

Sylvia, I can appreciate how your OH feels about dentures, Roly got his dentures in January, and will not wear them, as he says they are uncomfortable.
The darned things are sitting in a glass staring at me every time I go into the bathroom.
And I moaned about them costing him £200.00. I wont complain any more believe me.

Night girls. Love Mo xxx
