clocking in, first lot of exercises done the doc said it would get much worse before it got better... how right he was !!! it was awful, dizzier than I have ever been and terrible sickness, but by the time I got to the last one it all settled down , so onwards and upwards, I feel sure it will be beneficial in the long run....I will have a cuppa now and just take it very easy....lol....

Looks like our Jean would make a good barometer then. Strange thing isn't it? I hope that the exercises will work. Maybe the alleviating of the stress of not knowing what it is will also help.

Our forecasters are saying there is a possibility of more tornados tomorrow. The weather is right for it.

Just remembered Mo asked what I put in the hanging baskets. Some had fuchsias in, some had Surfinia Petunias and some had mixed basket plants (Verbena, million Bells, Bacopa, Bidens etc.)

Jean

I am pleased that you've now got a diagnosis. Please do your exercises!

Being me, I had to google it ........ and looking at this, so much seems to be what you have been suffering :)))

from wiki:-

It can be triggered by any action which stimulates the posterior semi-circular canal which may be:

Tilting the head
Rolling over in bed
Looking up or under
Sudden head motion
Post head injury

BPPV may be made worse by any number of modifiers which may vary between individuals:

Changes in barometric pressure - patients often feel symptoms approximately two days before rain or snow
Lack of sleep (required amount of sleep may vary widely)
Stress

take care!

Jean, I am pleased that the scan was clear. You have to remember now to do your exercises.

Sylvia, I think that probably they are treating it as a no refund and charging again. Or theyw ould be if we took them up on it. But T has been checking the fares over the last two weeks, without trying to chnage our own flights and every time he looks at Iberia fares they have gone up again.

Jean, pleased to hear your good news, it's a bit of a pain going all that way just for a 10min appointment, but at least you now have peace of mind. I hope that the exercises you have to do will work for you.

Sylvia, enjoy your couple of days of ME time, it will be nice to do just what you want, when you want. Hope you are feeling better than you've been lately.

I was hoping that we might have had some news about Danni this evening.....I hope that she's started to improve this evening.

Well, I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Oh thank the lord Jean.
Trust you to have something unpronouncable (sp) LOL
I have a vision of you walking around with a book on your head, practising your balancing.
Have a good nights sleep now, and stop worrying love.
Take care my friend. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Mo, nobody can see in my windows from the road, it is below the house on the side where I was enjoying the sun, although up the road people could see in, but would need binoculars.

Off out today to a 'family participation meeting' at Phil's home. We are told what is planned and we can make suggestions. We also get a feed! No, that is not what I go for really. I will pop into the residents lounge to visit Phil for a while. Then I have an appointment with the hearing aid people back in Papakura. I would like to get more use out of my aids, but they are not very good. In a crowd everything is aplified, so I cant hear any better. They dont seem to work on the phone either. Being on my own now I dont bother about them at home, I just turn up the sound on the TV or radio. I hope I can get something better for phone/crowded situations. One-on-one I am usually ok without the aids, although there are some people who speak very quietly and their voices are a bit blurry.

Huia.

My goodness Ann, I am quite happy to stay in this country, if the price of air flights are going up at the rate that they are.
In effects, it doubles the price of your holiday, doesn't it.
What plants have you put in your baskets Ann? I like to put Fuschia's, Geraniums, Pansies and many other varieties. But not always in the same baskets, but I do love a basket of Fuschia,s on their own.

Oooh Sylvia, peace and quiet for a few days is luxury. As much as we may love our OH's, it's great to have ME time isn't it.
I enjoy it when I can just make myself scrambled eggs on toast, rather than having to cook a full meal. It's funny, because if I said to Roly, shall we have eggs on toast he would no doubt say o.k, but I feel I have to cook a proper meal.
Are you feeling any better today. It seems that the cough is what is knocking people out, not so much the cold/flu symptoms.

Oh good lord Huia, sitting there starkers enjoying the sun, you are brave.
But luckily for you, you don't have to many people pass your house do you.
If we see on our news, " Woman arrested for causing an accident, by exposing herself" we will know it's you. LOL
What a shock about the Tornado up in Auckland, and how sad that one man died, and others were injured.
Did they forecast it happening, or did it spring up from nowhere.

No news from our Jean yet, I hope she got on o.k at the hospital today, it's a worry not to have heard anything from her yet about it. ((((((((HUGS))))) for our Jean.

I must go and check Caz's thread, to see if there is any news on young Danni.
It's high time Joyce had some good news, rather than all the sadness she has had recently.

Bye for now my friends. Love Mo xxx

Hi all
xx

lovely sunny day here

OH left about an hour ago to catch the ferry to the Island ... so I have 2+ days of ME time.

Ann ............... it always costs more when you try to change booked flights, so the fares might not have gone up quite as much as it seems.

They're possibly treating your re-booked one as a one-way fare.

Take care everyone

Good morning.
I had not realised that you got tornados in NXZ Huia, sorry to hear somebody was killed but pleased it was not worse.
Sallie, my cold only lasted seven days but it has left me with anirritating tickly cough, nothing chesty just annoying. But I feel fine and spent yesterday afternoon planting up ten hanging baskets while T planted up his tomatoes.
Jean, thinking of you today.
Mo, glad that Lily is doing well now. \Hope that your friends in hospital make a good recovery. Hospitals don't seem able or willing to think outside the box, you'd expect the bed to be available if he is fit for the by pass. Although maybe they think he needs more time. Good luck to him anyway.
Sylvia and Marie, I hope that your colds are now improving.

Caz, hope that you can get some good news from poor Joyce today.

We can't believe how much air fares have gone up. We booked our September flights to Tenerife via Madrid back in about February, £383. We then had the opportunity to extend the holiday back into August so first tried to cancel the flight - can't do that, no refunds given. So we tried to change the flight, yes you can do that for another £380. So the flights have doubled in price almost.

Huia Report 3 May 2011 23:10

Good morning (from me) all.

Joyce, I do hope your daughter will soon be well again.

To anybody else who is ill, or has friends/relatives who are ill, all the best for a speedy recovery.

The sun is shining through the window beside me so I am sitting here topless trying to soak some up. Not a purty sight.

A tornado hit Albany, at the top end of Auckland Harbour, yesterday afternoon. One man is dead and about 14 in hospital. Our tornados are not as big as the ones in America, thank goodness, but it is still bad enough with debris everywhere, and the Albany shopping centre closed so buildings can be examined for saftey, and repaired. A lot of roofs have lost tiles or sheets of iron.

There was also a 5.0 earthquake at Nelson yesterday, but it was very deep, so did not do any noticeable damage.

I slept in this morning as I didnt get to sleep until after 3 a.m. Had to take half a sleeping pill. I am now having my breakfast, at 10.10 a.m. Better get on with it.

Huia.

Hi Girls,

Caz, thank you for letting us know about Danni. Our prayers and thoughts go to her, and hope that she will soon be okay.

I hope you are feeling a bit better Caz. Did all go well at the dentist for you?

Joyce, sending you lots of hugs and positive thoughts.

Jean, good luck for tomorrow, I will be thinking about you. Sending you lots of positive thoughts.

Marie, glad to hear that you are getting better, take care and look after yourself.

Sylvia, sorry to hear that you are not feeling too good, and have had to cancel your trip to see your friends. It certainly sounds as though you and Marie have the same sort of virus. Take care.

Is the Conservative Party in Canada very much like the Conservatives we have here in the UK?

Mo, I hope all is well with you and Roly. Nice to know that your lovely Lily has settled down again after her visit to Scotland.

Tess, pleased to hear that you are feeling much better and that you have been out and about.

Ann, hope your cold is much better now. Nice to see home again, we all miss you on here when you're away.

Huia, hope you are okay and that all is well with Phil.

Thinking of Linda, Liz and Jude.

Love and best wishes to everyone. Sallie.xxx
