I was having trouble just now Mo as well, seems better now so maybe theyw ere doing something.

Jean you could always lay on the floor to do the exercises. People could step over you!!

Tess, many people moved from Somerset to Wales in the 19th century, was that when your ancestors moved? Mostly it was to find work. My Hampshire ancestors (well some of them) originated in Derbyshire and Staffs.

Hello girls.
I am having problems getting onto the thread, so I just hope that this post sends properly.

I have had an E.Mail from Sallie, and she is unable to get onto the site.
Sallie would like me to send her love and best wishes to Jean and Jeff, and to Joyce.
Hopefully G.R will get this site sorted out soon.

Well here goes, I hope you get this message. Love Mo xxx

Jean, I can just imagine their faces if you asked "have you got a spare bed?"
However if you did manage to get one, I reckon that it would be in great demand. All the other visitors would want to use it ... Some of them might even copy you exercises.

You can start a new trend lol

Tess you made me laugh, my exersises consit of liying on the bed both sides for 10mins each side and doing a routine, so I dont think they would let me do that in ICU....lol... but I will do them at home....

Hi to everyone who is researching Somerset.
I found my Somerset Connection while researching my Welsh part of the family.
Previously to this I had thought that my Welsh lot were Welsh all the way through. However my great-great-grandmother came from East Quantoshead in West Somerset. As she was able to read and write, she has put East Quantoxhead on all her Census Records. It has made it a lot easier to research them.

Sallie, my Derbyshire lot originated in Herefordshire (Woodhouse family) they went to Staveley at first, and lived in Derbyshire for a few generations.

Even my connection to Argyll is via English ancestors from Herefordshire. My great-grandmother married a man from Argyll. After marriage they lived in Argyll and bought their children up there.

Have been able to visit Herefordshire, and seen some of the family places, churches etc.
Also visited Somerset last year. A beautiful place. I enjoyed using my free bus pass. Can see Wales from the place where great-great grandmother lived. I wonder if she looked across the sea as a little one and thought "one day I will go there"

Have seen some of the places in Ireland, but just wish that I had shown more interest in who lived in which house as a child.
Haven't managed to go to Argyll at all, perhaps one day.........

Jean, so sorry to read that Jeff is so unwell. Have put a messabe on Caz's thread.

Keep up your vertige exercises. They seem to be helping you a lot.

Perhaps you can do them (or some of them) while you are at Jeff's bedside.
It would break up the monotony for you (and others on the ward).

It never rains bit it bl**dy pours, it's not bad enough that Jean has had so many problems lately, but for this to have happened must have hit her so hard.
God please give them all the strength to get through this. And help Jeff to get through this as soon as possible.

I know you will all be thinking of them,and wishing them well.

Love to you all. Mo xxx

Sallie Report 23 May 2011 13:42

Hi Girls,

Lovely to see you all on here, as it was very quiet yesterday.

Huia, Sylvia and Marie, as you all say it would be lovely for us all to be able to get together for a meet. I'm sure we would all need more than
5-6hours though, with all that we have to talk about.lol!!

I haven't heard anymore from Jude, I think Vic, her hubby is coming up to Derbyshire today to take her home. Things don't sound too good for her friend though, but I'm sure Jude will let us all know she has any news.

Caz, hope all goes well at the dentist for you this afternoon. It's good that you have your sister to go with you.

I guessed that Joyce had rang me straight away as soon as she heard that Liz and K were with you. At least you didn't miss out completely on the meet, you had Liz to let you know how it all went. It's great being able to talk face to face with some of our friends on here.

Hope you can manage to have a rest before going to the dentist., and that your hip will be less painful very soon. Take care!

Ann, I'm sure that I'll be fine with two aids once I get use to it.

Alun and I are going down to Richard's in an hour or so, and won't be home until Wednesday night-------so will e-mail you the photos sometime on Thursday.

Marie, so pleased to know that you are now better and that your lips have cleared up.

Hope all is well with your family and especially your granddaughter.

Sylvia, glad to hear that you are feeling better, having a bad dose of flu really takes it out of you.

I had pneumonia 23 years ago.......not a nice thing to have, it took me over three months to build my strength again. Richard was in infants school and Jennie was in nursery, but I have very good friends here, that took them and brought them home for me.

Jean, don't you have anyone that you can send your cards to? I seem to have a lot of people to send mine to, although the majority I made last week was for Joyce to give to her close family. Of course it was Jennie and Michael's 5th wedding anniversary on Friday, and then her birthday next Sunday and also my best friend's birthday.

Just had a phone call from Joyce, she's on the coach to Liverpool.....she was saying that she didn't have anyone to take her into Sheffield to get it, so had to get two buses.

Mo, good lock if you have a darts match tonight, hope your team will win.

~~~~~Huia, Tess and Linda. Hope I haven't forgotten anyone.
Well, I'll speak to you all on Thursday, Take care everyone.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx
Morning all, ooh heck my hip is painful this morning, will have to be more careful and try to fall into a chair, lol. I have a lovely bruise though. I had a great afternoon with Liz and her oh, a good couple of hours of non stop chat, she is just like on here and is lovely, K took some photos of us but I haven't looked at my e-mails yet to see if they have arrived. Sallie, Liz rang Joyce to say "guess where I am" so seemingly Joyce got straight onto the phone to you. Liz and K set off home so I had a lie down but couldn't get comfy and got up again, they had a long journey ahead of them so I hope they arrived safely.
I have to be at the dentists at 3-45 and it is blowing a gale and pouring down here, it is only at the top of our street but I hope I get there in one piece, that the wind hasn't blown me over, my sister is going with me so I'll be ok.
Can't sit much longer so speak later.
Love Caz xx
I read somewhere that there are only 5 churches in England with octagonal towers. When I went there the church was locked, so I asked at the post office/store where the churchwarden lived. She was doing school lunches at the time but when she came home she very kindly took me down to the church and showed me through it. She even took me up into the belfry. Must have thought I was batty enough to go up there.
