Sallie Report 12 Jun 2011 22:06

Jean, pleased that Jeff is getting better each day. Good to know that he is eating so that he can regain his strength. I'm sure that he looks so different without his tach, although he might decide to let it grow back when he gets home.

Tess, we've had heavy rain here all day, I think it has stopped now though.
It's also been cold for this time of the year, and had to have the fire on, as it's a bit chilly to sit in the living room without some heat. This is Flaming June.lol!!

How long do you have to wait before your new glasses are ready?

Linda, good luck to your dad for tomorrow. Hope all goes well for him.

Mo. is it your 19 year old granddaughter's boyfriend that has Chrohn's?

I hope that he will soon feel a lot better. As you know it isn't just the pain that comes with Crohn's, but also the embarrassment too. It's bad enough when people are older, but even worse for young people.

Jennie goes to see the IBD nurse at the hospital on Thursday, so hope she will get something sorted for her, although Jennie hasn't got much faith in her, I'm sorry to say. We shall wait and see.

Joyce, hope that both you and Jan are feeling a bit better today. Thinking about you both.

Huia, how are things with you? Hope you are alright.

Marie, hope that your family are starting to get over the flu, and that you are alright yourself.

Caz, thinking about you and hoping that you are starting to recover from your fall.

Jude, hope that you are able to get back onto GR soon. I don't know what they're trying to do.

Hope Ann and Liz will get better weather than we have had today.

Well ladies, I'll say goodnight now, speak to you all tomorrow.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 12 Jun 2011 21:02

I did mean to come on here earlier. Trouble is, it has been raining all day and the sound of rain sens me to sleep (well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!).
It really has been raining all day. Managed to go to the local shop to get some milk only £1 for 2 litres.

Also done some ironing, now just need to put it away.
Felt quite weak and wobbley after doing a batch of ironing, so needed to sit down. Then I went to sleep!! Oh well, it is better sleeping at unexpected times than not being able to sleep at all.

It all went well when I met my sister on Friday to pick my frames. We went for lunch afterwards, then for a tour of the Charity shops. I was very good and only bought a pair of book-ends for the grandsons bedroom.

The assistants at the opticians are quite good. Although they don't say, "They look terrible" they do throw me a doutful look and say "you look better in the other ones"

Of to have something to eat as the bleeper has just gone to say that my rice is ready.
I am having a lazy meal, boiled rice and tinned chilli con carne.

Linda, take care of yourself.
Love and hugs to Jennie, I hope that she soon feels well enough to eat.

Great news that Jeff is able to talk. Jean you MUST take a photo of him sans moustache.
Tess

Thank you MO Sallie and Jean

We are still waiting for the hospitals, just observing at present, so not in a bad place. Dad needs a "procedure" tomorrow to do with his heart, after having major surgery 2 years ago.
Mum is the diabetes, probably stress related and dementia which leaves her(and us) confused and she was lost back 20 years or more yesterday still in her job when she retired 20 years ago.

The weather isn't helping it is so cold, damp and miserable here today.

Still I have finished a jumper towards my stock to send to Bulgaria in the Autumn. Keeping busy.

Tomorrow will be a better day Linda :-) <3

Ahhh Jean bless him. I bet his nose will feel the cold now, without the tash he's got nothing to catch the drips with. ;-)
The walking will come in time. He has been sooo poorly for so long, it's not surprising his legs won't work for him yet.
The physio's will soon get him back on his feet, and then watch out as he will be chasing you all over the house.
The news gets better every day Jean, and I can't tell you how pleased I am for you all.
Enjoy a nice cup of tea and something to eat, to keep your strength up.

Sallie, I am sorry to hear that Jennie has not been to good today again.
Lets hope the doctor will sort her out as soon as possible. She's suffered enough just lately.((((((((((((BIG HUGS FOR JENNIE)))))))))))
My grandaughters boyfriend was rushed back into hospital yesterday. His Crohns is really bad at the moment, and he's got to have an emergency scan tomorrow, as they think he has a bad infection in the bowel yet again.
People who don't suffer with bowel problems, can never know how poorly it can make a person feel, do they.

Bye for now girls. Love Mo xxx

Sallie Report 12 Jun 2011 14:08

Linda, I'm so sorry to hear about both your parents being hospital. It doesn't help that they are also in different ones and so far away from you.

We had a similar problem when both Alun's mother and my uncle ( who was very close to us, and whose only child died when she was nineteen)
were in hospital. As they were both so ill, we had to travel down to S.Wales sometimes twice a week to see them....they were in hospitals that were in different directions and 15miles apart. The other problem was, that Alun's sister lives up in Yorkshire, so it made things even more difficult.

I'm sure that like me, that there are times when you wish you could drive., as it isn't easy for our hubbys to take time off.
I really hope that your parents will both get well very, very soon. Also hope that your dizziness won't come back after you've finished the tablets.

We are all here for you, anytime you need us, as Mo has already said.

Take care of yourself. Sending lots of positive thoughts to you and your family.

Mo, we had roast beef today, but Jennie had hardly any of it. She isn't very good at all, although the pain is a lot better, but she is feeling drained and don't feel like eating at all. I'm wondering if the antibiotics are making her feel this way. We're all at a loss on knowing what to do for her. I hope that she will ring the doctor tomorrow so that she can explain how she feels, to him. I know I'm worrying myself sick over her.

Enjoy your gammon, potaoes and veg, especially your trifle.

Thinking of all our friends on here. Speak to you all later.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Linda, we are all here for you love. Please stay strong, and know that we are thinking of you, and mum and dad, willing them to get better soon, and back by each others side.
How was the giddiness whilst you were gardening. Only I would have imagined it would have made it worse, bending over like that. So the tablets must be helping you love.

Hope to hear from you today Tess, and that you are not overdoing it.

Ann, it's so lovely in the Lake District, I know that you will both enjoy yourselves. Heres hoping that the flaming rain goes away, and you have some nice weather.

Oooh Sylvia, look out for those dreaded wood rats,(or whatever they were) that got in the last time you went to the cabin.
I hope they have not got in again and caused more havoc, thats the last thing you need.
Will they deliver the generator to the cabin, or do you have to pick it up on the way?

Love and ((((((((((((hugs for Jean and Jeff)))))))))))))))

Caz and Joyce, thinking of you both. Get well soon Joyce, and know that friends do care about you.

Sallie, have a great day with the family. Save me some roast dinner please,as we are not having one today.
Just cold Gammon, new potato's, green beans, carrots and peas. Oh and of course trifle for dessert.

See you all later. Love Mo xxx

Morning all
Enjoy the time away all those of you who are off on their travels, Anne and Sylvia at least

Have family problems at the moment so not adding so often sorry.

Dizzyness is kept at bay by the tablets but wondering what will happen when I stop taking them?

Managed a little gardening yesterday. Don't think there will be much done today, very overcast and rain is promised. Wish I'd felt up to doing it all yesterday.

Both my parents are in hospital (different ones too) at least until tomorrow and as I don't drive and they are 30 miles away no chance to get to see them either. Life sucks sometimes.

Sorry feeling a bit down at the mo.

Try to cheer up a bit and come back later

Linda :( <3 <3 <3

Just a quick pop in to read the latest postings.

Sylvia, I hope that everything is good at the cabin and that you are able to get a decent pump/generator.

Ann have a lovely time in the Lake District. I haven't been for years (about 18) but lived in Keswick as a toddler. A beautiful place, I still have some memories of that time.

Will be back tomorrow for a proper chat.

Hello Girls,

Just a quickie, hope all is well with you and your families.

Ann, hope your holiday goes well next week, and that you'll get some good weather, too. Oh how I envy you and T going to the Lake District, all our family love it there. Jennie and Michael went there for five days after they got married.

Hi all
xxx

Ann .... have a lovely break, and safe trip
xxx

Sallie ............. glad to hear that Jennie is improving

Jean .... great to hear that Jeff is improving enough to be moved on to an ordinary ward.

We are going to the cabin next Thursday for 4 or 5 days ............. to open up, and see what state it is in.

We are going to buy a new generator, we really do need it to pump water up from the creek, and OH feels more comfortable buying than renting. You never know how a rented one has been treated. He's already talked to the store up there, and they have a new generator for us, but will also watch to see if a second hand one becomes available (as a trade-in).

I should be back on the boards on the following Tuesday (June 21)

Then it is only about 2½ weeks before we leave for back east to see M&J, attend a confernece, and come home on the train!

Take care everyone

Hi Girls,

Just want to thank you all for asking about Jennie, your concern and thoughts are very much appreciated. She is feeling a bit better today and has even managed to wash her hair, so that's a good sign. Just hope that she will continue that way now.

Ann, I hope I'm not too late, I hope you and T will have a good holiday in the Lake District and that you'll have good weather.

Marie, sorry to hear that most of your family have flu, I hope that thay will all be better soon.

Mo, so pleased that your team won at darts last night. Well done to you all.

Looking forward to seeing the photos when you get them. Your granddaughter's birthday cake sounds lovely.....I'm pleased that she enjoyed having most of the family there to celebrate her birthday. Just wondering if anyone took a photo of the cake, if they have I would love to see it, if you don't mind.

Sylvia, it's nice to see you back after the trouble you had over your membership. Hopefully it's all sorted out and you won't get anymore trouble again.

Huia, you sound as though you are busy as a bee. Hope Phil will respond to you be a bit more when you visit him next. Take care.

Jude, hope you and Vic enjoyed the liver and bacon.....my mother use to make it for us when we were at home. The family loved it, but I didn't like the liver, so just ate the bacon and the onions.

Well done to Vic's nephew in America.

Linda, I hope the tablets are making the dizziness a lot better than it was. Take care.

I hope that Liz and OH will have a good holiday.

Sending love and special thoughts to Joyce, Caz, Jean and Jeff.

Well girls, I'll say goodnight to you all now. Speak to you tomorrow.

Hi Mo, Yes we are off on Sunday to the Lake District.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 10 Jun 2011 18:59

Good evening everyone.
I am having problems with this site again, I know there are lots of us suffering with this so if I dissappear, it will be because I have been thrown out again.

Huia, you are so good, going into town to the library to do a look up for a G.R member.
What a shame Phil was not on song when you visited him. But hey ho, next time he may be different love.

Tess, it's good to have a neutral person with you when you get your glasses.
I have found that the assistants, in the opticians local to us, are really not that helpful in the choosing of frames.
Every person's face shape is different, and I wish that they would speak up and say, if the style you have chosen is not really you. I would rather they be honest with me, rather than me buying a pair that make me look like a right idiot.
Cor luv a duck, you must have put a feast on for your son,if he cut your grass two days on the trot. lol

Jude, well done to Vic's great nephew on his graduation.
Good grief we haven't had liver and bacon in years, well not since the last time I made it and you could have soled your shoes with it.

Linda I cant believe how the doctors these days, have only one nurse. Gone are the days when doctors took blood pressure themselves, and gave injections etc.
I think you are on the practises christmas card list, they see you so often, let alone giving you a season ticket.
I hope they sort the giddiness out for you very soon.

Ann are you off on holiday again this weekend, I seem to think I read someone saying you were. I can't keep up with everyones holidays, you are all going away so often, I don't know who's where and when.
I know that Liz is orft on her hols tomorrow.

Sallie, I hope the anti-biotics kick in soon for poor Jennie, she's had a bad spate just lately hasn't she, bless her.
I am waiting for my daughter to download the photo's of the babies, onto her computer and send them onto me.
I have to do it that way, as I haven't got the facilities on my lappy to do it myself. ( not that I would know how to do it ).
My grandaughter really enjoyed having most of the family attend her birthday meal.
Even at the age of 19, my daughter bought her a birthday cake, made of sweets. She had one made for her for her 18th birthday, and it was such a success that she had one again this year.
I had never seen a birthday cake made from sweets before, but the company that makes them are extremely clever.

Good on yer Sylvia, fighting for the good of others, where membership fees charges go. Well done love. I bet lots of people will be grateful to you.

Marie, I am sorry that most of your family are suffering with the flu, I hope they make a speedy recovery. But just you make sure you keep well away from them, thats one thing you don't need at the moment.
How nice that a man wanted to join your singing group. How's his voice, is it any good, and does he blend in musically with the ladies voices.

Oh and yes girls, I did have darts last night. And we won, but only just 6-5 to us. Last week we won 9-2, but that was a miracle lol.
I have got the next round of the sixes knock outs on Monday night, but there is definately no way we will win that. Not with two of our regular players on holiday, and our having to play our substitutes, against the team who are top of the league in everything last season.
But I do enjoy my Thursday night darts, we have such a laugh, we are all idiots together, and thats what I enjoy.

Well my friends, I must send my love and best wishes to our Jean and Jeff, Caz and Joyce.

Take care girls. Love Mo xxx
