Hi Girls,

Where is everyone today? This is a lonely little thread today.

Joyce, it's good that you spotted Julia in Derbyshire's thread yesterday although it was only on for a very short time, or we would all still be concerned and wondering what has happened to her. Over the last two to three weeks both Chris and I have been trying to find out where she lives so that we can get in touch with her, to see if she was OK, as the last time she posted was April.

Thank goodness Chris had the brainwave to ring the hospital in Derby today, where they told her that Julia had been discharged yesterday.
Let's hope that she will be back on the threads before too long.

Jean, how are things with you? I hope Jeff is still getting stronger each day.
Also hope that both you and Debra are alright.

Ann, I'm sorry but somehow or other I've lost your card making and crafts blog from my favourites, and can't find the pm you sent me with it on.

Hope you and T are both alright.

Huia, thank you for your birthday wishes. I had a lovely birthday, spent most of the time with Alun, Jennie and Michael. Also spent quite a bit of time on the phone to family anf friends.

Mo, how are you doing? I hope that both you and Roly are okay. I'm sorry that things are as they are between your son's partner and you and your family.
His partner should realise how hurtful she is being towards you all, and especially to you. I should think that your son finds it difficult as he is stuck in the middle, bless him, he is probably trying to keep you all happy.

I know how you feel Mo, because at the moment we are having a bit of bother with Richard and Christie. When they were up two weeks ago, at times things weren't particularly easy, and like your daughters, Jennie found it very difficult not to say anything. She only did so, because she didn't want to get me upset.

Mo, I just hope that things will get better for both of us.

Marie, haven't heard from you for a while, hope all is okay with all.

Tess, also hope things are alright with you and your family.

Hope Sylvia and OH are enjoying their holiday and are having some good weather.

Linda, hope that your dizziness is now better and that your dad and mum are better, Take care.

Jude, I know you said you and hubby were going to stay with your daughter and her family, but can't remember when you said you were going. Anyway, enjoy your few days with them.

Liz and Betty if you are looking in, I hope that you are both ok.

I hope I haven't missed anyone out, sorry if I have, my memory is not as good as it was.lol!

Well girls, speak to you all soon. Take care.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hi again,

Mo, it must be very hard not to say anything when you are in your position.
I don't blame your daughters for leaving your son's house, whatever was said, they must have felt hurt for you. It's so difficult for you and Roly as you don't want to be on bad terms with him and want to be able to see Lilly without any kind of bad atmosphere. I really feel for you and hope that things will get better in time. Thank you for the birthday wishes for tomorrow.

Jude, thank you for your birthday wishes, too. I must say I'm looking forward to going out for lunch. It will be nice not to have to cook.lol!

I would like to come to the Aber meet but will have to see if Alun can get a couple of days holiday from work, so that he can take me down. My brother and sister-in-law usually go away the first week of the school holidays, so not sure if they will be there that week, either.
I'll try and let you know sometime next week, if that's OK?

Well ladies, I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

Take care!

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello lovely ladies, how are we all tonight.
It's so nice to see Joyce posting again, hello my little love.
You do realise Joyce, that Mosquito's only feast off of sweet meat, so both of you must be a really tasty meal for them.lol
I hope that Jan gets on all right on Wednesday. Is it a very big fatty lump he's having taken of.

Well Sallie, as far as I can make out, Lilly's christening went well. We have heard nothing but what her family did,and didn't do for them whilst they were up there.
To be honest, it makes me want to spit bullets. If they had had the ceremony down here, we would have all been there.
Some of the snidey comments are very hurtful, and she said something in front of one of my daughters, who immediately left her house in disgust.
I just have to bite my tongue, for my sons sake, and because I don't want to cause an atmosphere when we go to see Lilly.
Yes love I am still playing darts on a Monday night, but I also play Thursday nights as well now. Theres no holding me down, I'm a right little tear away.
We are going out to a joint 40th and 50th birthday party tomorrow night.
Then next Saturday we are going to a 60th birthday bash. Oh boy, I will be boogying (sp) the night away.

Jean, I will send my cyber duster up to you love. It's like a magic wand, you just wave it in the air, and the dust vanishes.
Well thats what Roly imagines when it come to the housework. He thinks it will do itself. lol
Love to you and Jeff, take care of yourselves.

Now I know that Huia and Ann were on the other page, but I have forgotten what was written, so please forgive me if I just say "hello my friends" I am not ignoring you, but my brains gone to sleep.

Big hugs to Caz,Linda,Marie,Jude,Liz and Betty.

Enjoy your special day Sallie, dont eat to much.
Love to you all Mo xxx

Hi Everyone,

Mo, it is really nice having you back , I've missed you and hope that your computer and GR will behave from now on.

Hope Lilly is alright and that her Christening went well in Scotland. I expect you are pleased to have her and her dad and mum back again.
Did her mum hear anymore about that baby competition, or was it jst some sort of scam? I couldn't even get on to vote for her, although I tried several times.

Mo, I haven't started my Christmas cards yet, although I'm 'itching' to make a start on the stuff I've bought, but I have to finish the birthday cards for July, first.lol!

Lunch out tomorrow is my birthay treat off Jennie and Michael, I feel awful about accepting it , as I'm sure they can do more with the money.

Joyce, also lovely to see you back on here again. I hope that you won't get anymore trouuble with GR. I haven't had much trouble with it this week, apart from it being a bit slow, so fingers crossed that GR has now sorted out most of the problems they had.

Just thinking that maybe you might be able to buy some kind of spray that would kill some of them off. It must be driving both you and Jan mad.
Hope that Jan will be able to find the mosquito lamp when he gets home.

Jean, pleased to hear that Jeff is improving each day and that he no longer needs some of the stuff that they thought he might need, so can now be returned. It's amazing how well he's doing after being so ill. I'm so happy and pleased for all of you.

Hope you can manage to find someone decent and trustworthy to clean for you. I know what you mean about how Jeff always did the heavy stuff
for you. We are the same here, the things that I can no longer manage to do, Alun has to do them.

Tess, we haven't heard from you for a good while, I hope everything is alright with you and your family.

Sylvia, if you are looking in, have a good hoilday and take care.

Huia, how are things with you? Hope all was well with Phil when you last visited him, and that he was alert and was able to respond to you.

Marie, how are things with your granddaughter, has she been back to see the Consultant yet?

Hope you are getting on okay with the family tree, ready to give out at the Family Reunion.

Ann, hopefully Alun will get the photos of the cards done over the weekend.

Caz, thinking about both you and Phil and hoping that things aren't too bad for you both at the moment.

Linda, how are your parents? I hope that your dad is better and able to look after your mum.

Also hope that you are feeling better and no longer suffer from the dizziness that you had.

Jude, I see you are planning a meet in Abergavenny towards the end of the month. Hope it all goes well.

Pleased that your neighbour got her budgie back, she was very lucky .
When I was a child we lost a budgie by flying out of the back door. He always liked to sit on my nan's shoulder while she was doing the cleaning, but the one day she forgot about him being there and opened the back door.......that was the last we seen of him. Both my brother and I were upset about it when we got home from school.

Betty and Liz, haven't heard from you both for a while. Hope all is okay, thinking about you both.

Well ladies I'm going to have my tea now, so will speak to you soon.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

ps. Mo forgot to ask if you still play in the darts matches on a Monday night.?

Sylvia, missed you, have alovely time anyway.

Jean good to see you back on here and to hear that Jeff is doing so well. I am sure that the house is not getting that dirty so I would echo Huia and say don't stress about it. What sort of jobs are you talking about? Sometimes if we step back we can see that some jobs are ones we have made ourselves and are not really important. Did you mean a human cleaner or electric one?

Mo good to see you on here as well, hope you continue to manage to get on. Is the problem your computer? there were a few problems a couple of days ago but I mostly have been able to get on.

Sallie, send the cards when you are ready. I have a few to put on from Jean but have to go out this morning so will probably do that after lunch. :-) <3

Hello everyone, we are slowly adjusting to all the daily things needed to do, so a routine is starting now, Jeff is doing so well he walks outside each day going a little farther daily. he does all his ablutions himself , eating well sleeping o.k. some of the equipment he was loaned to help him around the house are going back today, manages now to get his own breakfast now and then....just need to get him to make mine now.....lol....one thing we need to do is get a cleaner, he used to do most of the heavier stuff , but at the moment cant manage it, its too much for myself and D to do,

Sylvia have a great holiday and enjoy yourselves...

big hugs to everyone else ((((((((((((((((X )))))))))))))))))))))

Cooeee everyone. Yippee, I have managed to get onto the site ar last.
Now I just hope that after I have managed to post, that G.R dont lose it for me, I will be really annoyed if they do.

All is well at this end of the u.k, apart from the flippin weather of course. But then thats something we are all having to put up with.

Huia, how great it will be, to be able to hear proerly, and when you smile have gleaming choppers.
Spend as much as you like on yourself, after all, both you and Phil saved and worked hard for whatever money you have saved.
The money is there to make your retirement easier, and for little luxuries for yourself.
We have told out family, that any inheritance they receive, will be in bricks and mortar. We are not millionaires, and like most of us, have to manage on our pensions.
All the children own their own homes, so any inheritance they get, will be a bonus for them. They all, like us in our time, work hard for what they earn.
So as you can probably guess, my attitude is, what ever we need, we will have while we can afford it, and so should you love.

Oh my lord, not another tsunami warning. Lets hope and pray it doesn't happen.

Sylvia, have a safe and lovely holiday. Big (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) for MJ when you see him.

Sallie enjoy your meal out on Saturday. Is this a treat for your Birthday on the ninth, hah you thought I had forgotten didnt you, but no not me I am like an elephant, along with my trunk(nose) lol
Good grief girl, have you started making your christmas cards all ready. You are sooo good.

I hope that all our friends who have been unwell, are now feeling better.
Sending love to Jean, Ann, Marie, Caz,Joyce,Betty, Tess,Liz and all our other friends.
Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi Everyone,

Huia, so gald to hear that you are and your family are safe from a tsunami if you have one in NZ.

Yes, you are right, it is very, very quiet on here, I don't know where Jean, Marie and Mo are.
I sent Mo a PM last Thursday, and although she has opened it, I haven't heard anything from her. So just hope that she and her family are OK.

Sylvia, just in case I miss you you before you go away on Saturday, have a good holiday, it will be lovely for you and OH to see your family. You'll see a big difference in MJ now with not having seen him since Christmas. Sending him lots of hugs and kisses.
Crossing my fingers that you'll get some good weather too. Take care.

Ann, I have a few more cards to put on your blog, so as soon as Alun will take photos of them, we'll put them on. I just hope it won't take him too long.lol!!

Caz, how are things with you? I hope that Phil is getting better and that the doctors have now sorted out his Warfarin dosage.

Also hope that you aren't too bad at the moment. Are you managing to make some cards? I'm back into making them again, all the Christmas stuff is coming in now, so bought some things last Friday....but I still have birthday cards to make, so haven't done anything with it yet.

Jean, I hope that Jeff is getting better and stonger each day. Also hope that you are OK, too.

Jennie and Michael are taking Alun and I out for lunch on Saturday, so am looking forward to that. Each time we all go out for a family meal, Alun and I always foot the bill., not that we mind paying for them, but it will be nice to be treated for a change.

Well I have to go out now, so will speak to you all soon.

Take care.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Huia Report 7 Jul 2011 05:45

Hi Sylvia. Our NZ geo people did not think there was any threat of a tsunami as the quake was in a N-S direction and any waves would go W-E. My home is up in the hills so safe anyway, but I went to Papakura and Mangere and wore my gumboots (wellingtons) just in case! (Just joking). My sister at North Shore is above the reach of any tsunami and Phils sister at Stanmore Bay is also well above the reach.

I dont know where Mo and Jean and Sallie and some of the others are. I know Ann has posted recently but I miss the others. 'Come back, all is forgiven'.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 6 Jul 2011 22:10

Hi everyone

Huia ........... we're just hearing about this:-

A tsunami warning has been issued for New Zealand after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean north of the country.

The quake hit at 12:03 p.m. local time about 161 kilometres east of Raoul Island in the remote Kermadec Islands, which are about 900 kilometres north of New Zealand.

The quake's epicentre was about 913 km south of Nuku'alofa in Tonga.

The Kermadec Island and Tonga are also covered by the tsunami warning.

Civil Defence New Zealand cautioned people to stay away from the coastline, TVNZ reported. If there is tsunami, it was expected to reach New Zealand's East Cape at 8:52 a.m. local time, Gisborne at 8:59 a.m. and Auckland's east coast at 10 a.m.

The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said it is not known if an actual tsunami has occurred.

A tsunami is not expected along the California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, or Alaska coasts.

I assume you yourself are OK, and far enough inland?!
:-D
