Thank goodness you are o.k Huia, you have been sooo looking forward to your holiday, it would have been devastating for you.

I hope Ann is still enjoying her holiday, and that she takes a peep in to say hello to us.

Sallie, I bet you are going like the clappers now, with your card making. Are you doing some for your brothers church this year, only I know they were very popular last year.

Sending loving wishes to Sylvia for a continued good recovery.

I got the go-ahead for my holiday. I have to use a nasal spray for a few days before I go on the plane as it is a cold I have, plus a migraine headache. I can live with the headache. She did offer to prescribe some tabs for the migraine but it is not all that bad. I was just worried that I might have something horribly infectious like measles or meningitis. 3 more sleeps to go!

Huia.

Hi Sylvia,

Oh what a lovely surprise, it's great hearing from you and to know that you are improving slowly. As Mo said no dancing round the dining room just yet or any other room, come to that. lol!!

Huia, hope that everything will go well for you at the doctors. It's best to get it checked out before you go on holiday.

At last I have got back into making cards, I've been busy making them all over the weekend.....so now Alun will have to take photos of them so that I can send them to Ann for her blog, if she won't mind doing them when she gets home.

Well, I'm ready for bed now, so goodnight to everyone.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Still continuing our cahin of love and good wishes for Sylvia.

I have a docs appointment at 11.45 today. I have had a 'tight' headache for a week or so now and even the heavy duty paracetamol plus codeine tabs havent made any difference so I thought I should get it checked out before Thursday. I just hope it is nothing to stop me going on my trip.

Ooh thanks Cynthia, for keeping us up with all Sylvia's news.
It sounds like she has got a real good care package backing her up. Blood pressure is so unpredictable, and can be up or down from one minute to the next.
It's a good job that Sylvia doesn't suffer from white coat syndrome. ( where a patients blood pressure raises as soon as they see a doctor ).
Once the staples come out she will feel much more comfortable bless her.
Please send her our love and best wishes next time you speak to her.

Goodness me Jean, how frightening it must have been for you and your neighbours, when the bus caught fire.
It could have caused chaos had there been an explosion.
Would it be possible for you and Jeff, to get a coach down to Wales for a short break away. That way it would save the stress on Jeff, and give you both a well earned rest.

I hope everyone is well. Take care all. Love Mo xxx

Cynthia Report 24 Sep 2011 11:59

Hello everyone.....here is the latest update from Sylvia:

Things are slowly getting better. I did create some worry in the hospital as my blood pressure would not come down.

It started at 183 just before the operation

reached over 200 on post-op

got as high as 227 on the ward late on Tuesday afternoon.

I did not have any other symptoms, such as headaches, etc, and felt pretty OK ............ having had very high bp before, I know how rotten it can make you feel!

They called in an internist, who prescribed another bp medication, but thought I should go home the next day as I might well feel better at home
........... with the caveat that I had to keep taking my own bp, and go to my own doctor or emergency if it did not come down.

Fortunately it is ................. highest now is 170, but it has been down in the 130s.

A Public Health nurse comes on Monday and Thursday to change the dressing, and will do any other necessary things, such as removing the staples.

Staple removal should be some time next week .... 7-10 days after the op,hopefully!

I am stapled up from here to eternity!

shouldn't fall apart any time soon!!

I see the surgeon on October 31st and will know then whether I will need any further treatment.

Sylvia is looking at the posts but finding typing understandably difficult at the moment.

Love. Cx.

Good Morning all, we have just had a hairy moment a bus caught fire outside of the houseI saw smoke earlier but just thought it was car exhaust, then it suddenley got worse the back of the bus was well alight, so I got Jeff up and got the other neibours up too. it was what seemed awhile before the fire engines came, the big worry was if it exploded we are right on the busy A58 so we had to get out of the houses.... its out now but the road is closed both ways.....

I have been busy with the cards Sallie, so now I want to ahve a few days off from doing them, D is in America for two weeks so we can please ourselves were we go and what we eat ....lol....Jeff hasnt driven very far ,just locally , so he now feels he would like to venture further ... we had booked a holiday in Llandudno on the 17th Oct but was advised to cancel it as the consultant didnt expect Jeff to have done so well. so we may try later in the year, do a bit of christmas shopping, Great shops in LLandudno and of course Craftlands ....lol... I think the shop next door sells wool.... so better go and have a wash and some brekkie see you all later .

love to Sylvia, hope you are doing o.k.

Hi Girls,

Thank you for passing on the message Cynthia. It's great news to hear that Sylvia's home and doing okay. Hope it won't be too long before she will be able to type with more than one finger.
Also hope you are well, too.

I was out nearly all day yesterday so didn't get to have any time on here.
Today I've been to Derby, to the craft shops there, but couldn't get what I wanted, so it was a bit of a waste of time.
Alun will have to take me to the Range this evening to see if I get what I need there. I have a small pad of the backing paper that I want but I need the next size up....the trouble is a lot of the popular Christmas backing papers and crafting stuff are going quite quickly now, so I just hope they will have some left at the Range.

Ann, good to hear that you and T are enjoying your holiday. Not many days of your holiday left now so enjoy the rest of it. Take care.

Mo, did you play a darts match last night? I'm pretty sure you joined another team earlier in the year and play matches on a Thursday.

Caz, hope you are feeling a bit better after your fall and are managing to make some Christmas cards.

Jean, hope all is well with you and are still feeling well enough to make your cards.

My friend and her husband have just arrived home from holiday today. They have been to Llandudno for five days, they really liked it there....a friend of theirs told them before they went that it wasn't very nice there so be prepared not to like it , so I think that they were pleasently surprised that it was so nice there.

My friend was telling me that they went into a big craft shop there, so I'm just wondering if it is the one that you like to go to when you are there. She doesn't make cards herself but likes knitting , so not sure why they would have gone into craft shop....unless of course they also sell wool.

Marie, Huia, Betty, Dutch, tess and anyone else I might have forgotten, I hope you are all okay. Thinking of you all.

Continuing the chain of love and best wishes to Sylvia.

Hi, we go home on 28th Mo. The weather up until now has been glorious the whole time but today is a lot cooler (23 degrees) and cloudy with a light shower. Shame it was the day we chose to put washing out so that is not going to dry.

Pleased to hear that Sylvia is home, hope it won't be too long before she can type again.

Thanks for the latest news on Sylvia, Cynthia.
I bet she is having real bad withdrawal symptoms, not being able to get on here and chat away to all her friends, and we are happy to counted in amongst them.

I am loving the necklace Huia, you are such a clever clogs love. It's the arty side of you coming out. lol

Must go for now, be back later. Love Mo xxx

Ann, nice to hear from you and hope that you are having a good holiday.
Not sure when you are due home, but it seems a while since I have spoken to you. Anyway hope that you and T enjoy the rest of your time away. Take care.

Caz, it's been dry here all day, but just as we were coming home from Jennie's it started to rain, so I'm sure it will carry on that way now.lol!!

Did you manage to find what you wanted at the Range? If you did, hope as Ann said, it will get you back into the card making mode and are able to sit long enough to be able to make some.

Mo well at least you managed to get some things dried. It's very tiring running back and fore the washing line all the time though and sometimes easier and a lot less tiring to dry them on the clothes horse.

Well, I'm going to make a cuppa now, so will speak to you all soon.
