LOl Huia.

We ignored the forecast and went to Westonbirt anyway. We drove via Painswick, Stroud and Tetbury and the sun shone all the way with dark clouds in the distance. We had coffee when we got there then walked round. The colours are a little disappointing so far this year. They are usually better after the first frosts but the wind has brought a lot of the leaves down. still it was a good walk in the freash air, we then drove back across the Cotswolds, stopping at Uley to take photos out over the Severn Valley (It was windy but still hadn't rained.) We stopped for lunch at an old mill, where we had not eaten before and it was very good. We then drove home. We left at 0915 and got home at 14.40 so a good long day out. And still it hasn't rained. We could do with it now to wash the car off, our neighbours have had block paving laid across the front of their house and the dust from the cutting of bricks has settled on our car.

Huia, a goo forecast here, means it's ice weather lol. ;-)

Ann, I love going to Bedgebury Pineatum at this time of year, the different colours of the leaves on the trees is fantastic.
Mind you it can be very chilly walking round it, and it spreads for miles so by the end we are feeling worn out, and chilled to the marrow and in need of a hot drink.

Sallie, I was completely exhausted last night after all that gardening, but Roly was worse than me, Lilly had him completely pooped out. I dread to think how worn out he would be if he had to look after her for a whole day.
Thats the only problem with ageing, what we could do ten years ago, we now find we cant.

I have to go for now girls, as my daughter has just turned up.
Love to all. Mo xxx

Sorry you lost the team game Mo but well done winning the pairs.

T and I are fine. We were going to see the autumn colours at Westonbirt Arboretum tomorrow but the forecast isn't goo. Isn't it annoying when you make plans and get beaten by the weather?

There are a few cards on the photo blog from Jean's daughter's American trip.

I made four cards today, not many but housework got in the way!

Caz, good to see you, sorry you have been poorly, those antidepressants are taking a long time to kick in. Is that usual? Hope they work soon, or that you find some that do.

Hi Girls,

Mo sorry you lost the team game last night but as you say you won the pairs, so that's something to cheer you all. So pleased you heard me shouting for you and your team.lol!!

You and S have certainly been busy today , well done to you both. I'm sure that the garden will look great when it's done.

I had never heard of the lawn grub either, hope your son's had is okay now.

I've been fairly busy today, done a few odd jobs that needed doing, made a couple of cards and also started making a desk calendar for my brother
as part of his Christmas pressie. Just hope it turns out OK.

Hope all our friends on here are OK.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Mo in Kent Report 11 Oct 2011 18:55

Hello girls, how are we all today.
Whew, I am cream crackered. We have been to see baby Lilly and her mummy today.
My son spent yesterday digging one half of the garden, ready for new grass turfs to be laid on thursday.
S and myself, spent most of today digging and leveling the other half.
When my son was clearing his half yesterday, he pulled a large tuft of grass up, only to find a lawn grub suck to his hand, the darn thing gave him a bit of a sting apparantly.
So as our son is at work today, we went to our local garden centre to get some pellets to kill them off before the new lawn goes down. I had never heard off the grubs before, but it does explain why the old lawn was not very healthy.
Roly was on baby sitting duties, for little Lilly, but he was in his glory. And S and I had a lovely time outside in the garden.

Sallie, we lost the team game 4-2 last night, but won the pairs 2-1, not a brilliant outcome but hey, it's only a game.
But I could hear someone shouting my name out loud, so I assume it was you Sallie. Thanks for the support love.

Sylvia, slow but sure is the only way to go. A little every day is good going.
Are there any other general excercises that you have to do, that are not to strenuous. Please take it easy honey.

Hi ya Ann, how are you and T.

Coooeeee Jean,(((((((((((((((HUGS for you and Jeff))))))))))))))))))

Toodle pip everyone, love Mo xxx

Hi Sylvia, pleased to hear that you are OK, I was getting a bit concerned.
Good to hear that you are slowly getting more mobility in your arm.
Enjoy the peace and quiet, and take it easy. Speak to you soon.

Hi all
xxx

I love that photo of the Chatham Island forget-me-not. It looks a gorgeous plant

There are so many wonderful flowers in both NZ and OZ!

Sorry I haven't been on here for a couple of days .... just been having a bit of a quiet time. Everything's fine though, and I'm slowly getting more mobility in my arm as I "climb the wall" :-) In other words, walk my fingers up the wall as high as I can go!

Hi Ann, having the two stores on the same retail park although convenient isn't too good for pur bank balance either.lol!!

Alun has taken photos of a few more cards so will send them along with the five that didn't get to you, later on this evening.

Thanks for letting me know, will have a look at the cards as soon as I've finished on here.

It's very quiet on here, where has everyone gone? Will be shouting for you tonight Mo, hope you'll hear me all that way down in Kent.lol!!!

Love to you all. Sallie.xxx

Sallie, lucky you having hobbycraft on the same site. Although maybe it is good for my bank balance that the two in Gloucestershire are in two different towns!!!

I don't know why some people can add comments and others can't. Have you registered. I am sure that you need to register to be able to add comments.

Hia, maybe it would have been safer not to have removed the aid from your ear. Easy to be wise after the event isn't it?

Sallie Report 10 Oct 2011 09:51

Good morning girls,

Mo, hope your team will do as well tonight as you all did on Thursday. I wiill be thinking about you and keeping my fingers crossed for you and your team.

You are lucky having your great -granddaughter round, and also an added bonus of having Lilly and her big brother and sister too.

Ann, it's so easy to buy more stash at the Range than what I actually go for.....it's so easy to pick something up thinking ' I don't need it now, but it might come in useful', that's the trouble. Alun also picks up stuff for his model railway layout, so between the two of us we usually spend a fair amount. Hobbycraft is also on the same retail park so what we can't get in one we mostly get in the other.

I've had a look at your cards on your blog, they are lovely.I can't seem to be able add a comment though, so goodness knows what I'm doing wrong.

Jean, hope Debra has got over her jet lag by now. Did she manage to get some sleep on the plane? I found it difficult to sleep on the way home from New York both times, even though they were night flights, leaving there at 10-30pm. The family tells me that the reason why I can't sleep is that I'm too nosey.....there might even be a lot in that too.lolol!!

I've also seen your cards on the blog, they are lovely as usual.

Sylvia hasn't been on for a few days, hope she is alright. Maybe she's busy with her family history research.
If you are looking in Sylvia, hope all is well with you.

Huia, I've just looked at some more of your photos on your Chatham blog.

The hotel that you stayed in looks nice. I wish I could afford to go to NZ for a holiday, it looks such a beautiful country.

Hope all was well with Phil when you visited him.

Caz, hope you are feeling a bit better. Have they started you on the new anibiotics, for your kidney infection yet?

Joyce is upset at the moment, not only because she has lost her bracelet but because today is the first anniversay of her daughter's death.

Thinking of Betty, Marie and all our other friends on here.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

I had spare batteries with me Ann, but I was too busy to bother getting them out of my bag and putting one in. They are so fiddly to do.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 9 Oct 2011 22:27

Huia, I always carry a spare hearing aid battery in my purse as they usually go at the most inconvenient times. A nuisance to lose one though.

Mo, well done on your win last Thursday and good luck for tomorrow.

I bet you had a lovely time with the babies and children. Lots of cuddles.

Jean, I will put some of the holiday photos on the photo blog as soon as I can get around to it. Not got anything else in mind for holidays yet until next May.

sallie, we went to the Range on friday and I bought some christmas bits. Some of my and Jeans cards on the blog.
Poor Joyce, I do hate losing things and it sounds as if that is something quite expensive and probably of sentimental value too.

Huia

Huia Report 9 Oct 2011 09:25

Now that I have found how to downsize photos and have done all the ones I took on the trip I have started putting them on the blogspot

http://www.ChathamIsland2011Sep29toOct6.blogspot.com

I have only got as far as the arrival at the airport. I might not have time to do any tomorrow until the evening. I want to keep them in the correct order so have deleted the one I had of the hotel. It can be added later.

Huia.

Huia Report 8 Oct 2011 21:03

Hi all.

It will be a long time before I have finished putting photos on my blog, even though I am not putting them all on. I went to visit Phil yesterday and spent over an hour there while he ate his lunch, then I did some shopping.

When I got home from the airport the other day I couldnt find one of my hearing aids which I had removed and put in my pocket as the battery had gone flat, so I will have to contact the insurance people tomorrow. I might also need to contact them about my camera (not lost, but possible damage). I am going to be so busy this week.

Huia.

Mo, just missed you. Hope that the small family upset is sorted out now.

You all did really well on your win on Thursday night. Well done to you. Hope you all keep it up for the season (if that's the right term) so that you end up with the trohpy. All your friends on hear will be 'shouting' for you.

Jean looking forward to seeing your cards when Debra has a chance to put them to put them on Ann's blog.
I couldn't remember which part of America Debra had gone to, so thanks for jogging my memory.

Had a call from Joyce a bit earlier, she was a bit upset because she has lost a gold bracelet. Her and Jan have searched high and low but not found it.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hi Girls,

Jean nice to see you back, you had us all concerned about you, until Caz passed on your message.

You sound just like me with the puter, if something goes wrong while Alun is out I have to wait for him to get home to sort it.lol!!
It's amazing how many cards get done when there is something wrong with the computer or internet.lol!!!

Hope all went well in America for Debra. I'm sure that you and Jeff are glad to have her home.

Ann, have you put the Christmas cards on your blog yet? I'll have a look later on.
We went to the Range and Hobbycraft this afternoon, so that I could get something to make a birthday card for Chloe, who will be nine next Saturday. With all the stash I've got I didn't have anything suitable for a nine year old girl.
Mind you, we card makers don't need much of an excuse to buy more stash, do we?

I wonder where our Mo has got to. Hope all is okay with her and her family.

Sylvia, Caz, Huia, Joyce and Betty are all OK.

I might look in again later on, take care.

Love, Sallie.xxx
