Mo what an unfriendly lot your team are, I wonder why, is there a ring leader? How did you becomne part of that team if theya re so unfriendly.

Glad that Roly has his appointment, I hope all goes well for him. and that they can find the problem.

Sally What fun that Father Christmas bus driver was, I am sure he made the children's day for them.

Mo, just missed you, I would have caught you but the ffirst message just disappeared as I was doing it and so had to type all over again.

Pleased to hear that Roly's appointmnt have come through.Let's hope that they will now be able to find out what's causing the problem and it will be easy to treat. Please wish him good luck from me, and tell him that I am thinking about him.

Well done to you and Eve on winning the pairs last night. I think that both of you will be better off out of their team, they sound a very unsociable and unfriendly lot to me. As you say, for Roly to notice it, they must be bad as the men don't seem to notice things like we women do.

Well I'm going to make our dinner now so will speak later.

Sallie Report 13 Dec 2011 16:57

Huia, when I was young I only ever wore stiletto heels, all day and every day. All the girls I worked in the office with were the same, apart from a few older ladies who wore flat shoes. They always kept on to us that by wearing high heels all the time we would ruin our feet and would suffer when we got older. I must say that they were right...I haven't been able to wear stiletto heels for a good few years now.lol!!

I now just wear shoes with a small heel....my problem now is that not many shops seem to stock small sizes...I only take a UK size three, and they are becoming more difficult to get. I was certainly in the back of the queue when they were giving out sizes.....only 5ft tall and size three in a shoe size.lol!!

Ann,well done to the bus driver on your bus today. Hopefully it will have taught the boys a lesson and that the next time they use the bus maybe they will behave themselves. It isn't fair that others on the bus have to put up with it.

I went up to town on an earlier bus this morning and when the bus arrived I thought that I was seeing things when the it stopped. Santa!
One of the bus drivers that only lives three stops away from here, was dressed up as Santa and he was waving to all the children on their way to the Infants school, the children were loving it and waving frantically back at him. As there was a bit of a traffic hold up, he then kept getting off the bus to give them sweets out of a small santa sack he had....the childrens faces were a picture, bless them.

This moring started off dry, but very windy and cold, so managed to mostly dry some clothes that I had pegged out.....it is now raining, so glad I got out and back home before it started.

Hello to everyone else, hope you are all OK.

Mo in Kent Report 13 Dec 2011 16:09

Hi everyone,
Well, Roly's appointment has come through. He has to go in on Friday, for the camera job to be done.
The doctor was right about the timing of the appontment, it is two weeks since she made it for him, and she said it would be within a fortnight.
He is quite nervous about it, bless him, but it's better to know than not, so that any treatment can be started sooner rather than later.
I have to get him there for 2.30 p.m, and he may be there for two hours.
Fingers crossed for him girls.

Huia and Ann, I was very lucky in getting a pair of shoes with a little heel, at our local Stead and Simpsons.
Like you both I can no longer walk in stilletto's, like I used to when I was younger.
And these days, I am normally in flat shoes or boots. But the shoes have a little heel, and when I wore them last Friday night, I was very comfortable in them.
I know that Huia probably wont have a Stead and Simpsons in NZ, but Ann you may find them locally to you.

I got soaked going to darts last night, and then again coming back home. And that was only going from the house to the car, and back from the venue to the car.
We were very lucky last night, we drew the game 3-3, and won the pairs 2-1.
My friend Eve and I, moved closer to the rest of the team last night, to see if they would include us in their chats.
But no, in fact they moved themselves further away from us. So I will be glad when this season is over, and we can move on.
I hate being completely ignored, when I don't know what we have both done.
Even Roly is now commenting about them excluding us, and that takes some doing where he is concerned.

Well done Sallie, on making progress towards christmas. Before we know it, it will all be over and done with.

It looks like we are all in for another night of howling wind and rain, according to our local weather forecaster. Thats great isn't it (not).
As long as we don't get the snow on christmas day, so that our families can't get through to us, thats all I am really worried about.

Going to start dinner now girls, sweet and sour pork, yummy.
Bye for now. Love Mo xxx

I wish I could find shoes with a louis heel or at least a very short stiletto type heel. I can't wak that well in high heels these days but love to have a little bit of height, it does make skirts look better.

We have just been into town and I got a few more bits for OH, we split up for an hour and it is surprising how much more I can get done on my own. I even managed to get some food bits in m&S. So now I have spent much to much on him but I hope he likes it all. we always buy quite a lot for each other as it is fun!!!! But most of the stuff would be bought anyway as it is new clothes etc.

Coming back the driver stopped the bus and turfed off two lads making a nuisance of themselves upstairs, they did look sheepish as they came downstairs to get off, and it was raining. We got quite wet walking from the bus but don't mind that as it is easy to change when you get in. Hate getting wet going to the shops.

I took the camera today but it was very crowded in the room so I didnt get a photo taken. Maybe another time. Anyway it didnt look quite as sexy as I thought. Perhaps I need to wear high heels and fishnet stockings. But I have never done either and dont intend to start. I did have a pair of shoes many moons ago with little Louis heels. They were only about an inch high if I remember rightly. I doubt if I could even wear anything that high now, I am too shaky on my pins.

Off to bed now.

Hello Girls,

Sorry not been on here for a day or two, I've been busy trying to get the last bits and bobs done ready for Christmas.....not finished yet but not much left to do. Things seem to have taken longer to do over the last couple of days, not sure if it's because of being poorly last week or it's my age.lol!! Probably both.

Mo, it's quite a stormy night here too, not very nice at all. It was the same ysterday from lunchtime on, of course we had to go out to the Range, everyone was trying to park their cars near to the store.

How is Roly today? Hope he isn't in as much pain as he was in over the weekend. It would be nice if he could have his scan before Christmas, wouldn't it?

Sylvia, good luck with physio tomorrow. hopefully you won't have to have anymore treatment.

I'm sure you are looking forward to going to Vancouver Island for Christmas. It will be nice for you and your friends to have a get together.

Huia, it would be nice if the baby arrived just before Christmas, but as long as he is alright that's the important thing.

If you go to visit Phil on Christmas Day will you be able to have lunch with him?

I am sure you are looking forward to seeing your son too. It will be nice for you to have his company for a couple of days.

Well I'll say goodnight now. Speak to you all soon.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Oh for goodness sake, I will try and do my post again, before it does another disappearing act.

Well it's blowing a gale here, and I am not looking forwards to going out to darts tonight.

Huia, how lovely, a new baby for the new year. Thats if it decides to wait that long.
How do you feel about it being born on Phil's birthday?and what about it appearing on yours? now that would be a lovely birthday present for you.

Don't forget to take your camera to the party tomorrow, we want to see your new skirt, don't we girls.

Sylvia, I will keep my fingers crossed for you tomorrow, at the physio's.
What a shame you have got to wait right round to July, to see young MJ.
It's such a long time off, and he will have changed so drastically.
I am so lucky to have my grandchildren living close to us, and can see them whenever we want to. We notice the differences in Lilly every time we see her, and that is normally once a week.
You certainly have got your OH well trained, his making the jams and jellies is a big help to you. I am sure you are trying to do to much, to quickly. Please take it easy my love, and don't wear yourself out to much.

I am very envious of you Ann, going to Ross on Wye for lunch, I understand it is lovely there.
I luurrvveeee sticky toffee pudding, yummy I can taste it now, and my mouth is watering.

I must go now, or I will be late for my lift. Take care everyone, love Mo xxx

Huia Report 12 Dec 2011 04:23

Mo, when you get out of bed, I am not sure what is happening this Christmas. My son will probably be up 'some time' but if nobody is here on Christmas Day I will probably go to visit Phil. It doesnt bother me though if I am on my own. I will take it as it comes. I am not sure what my daughter is doing either. Her daughter is due to bear fruit on 8 Jan. I wonder if he will be early, on Phils birthday (the 4th), or late on mine (the 11th)?

It is raining here, fairly heavily. Not quite so warm, but then it was humid earlier in the day before the rain started. Now that I am home it can rain as much as it wants until it is time for me to go out to the next party tomorrow morning. I must take my camera and get somebody to photo graph me if I am wearing my new sexy skirt!

Time I was getting my dinner.

Huia.

Hi Mo, and everyone
xx

We're going away for Christmas, not putting up any decorations, nor having to buy any food. Plus, we have almost all the presents

so .................... why do I find myself so busy???

Mo .......... I'm doing well. I see the physio this coming Tuesday, and she'll tell me then whether I will need to have any further treatments.

I do find I get tired more quickly than usual .................... so I guess that may be the reason why things are taking me longer to do.

I get tired, and then it takes that little bit longer to recover.

We won't see MJ until next July, when he'll be about 28 months old.

We'll see BIG changes from last July!!!

OH is busy making jams and jellies .......... I used to do it, but he's taken over. We give lots of jams away, to co-workers, friends (and physiotherapists!).

We're also trying to get our cards out. I've just got the letter (with a few photos on it) into shape, and am now printing it off. OH will sign it, and the cards. Hopefully, all 100+ cards will be in the mail by next Friday

............... and equally hopefully, they'll arrive at their destinations before Christmas!

take care everyone

Huia, what a busy bee you are, all this socialising.

Mo it doesn't seem possible that Lily is a year old, where does the time go? Bless her I bet she is cute, they are lovely at that age.

I hope Marie is OK as well, it does seem a long time since we heard anything.

We went out for lunch today, met our friends in Ross on Wye for a carvery and to exchange presents. Had a nice meal, 3 courses, home made pate to start then roast beef and all the vegetables etc and the sticky toffee pudding. I shant be getting on the scales tomorrow. It was nice to meet up anyway and catch up with their news. Next Thursday we are out with golf friend for a Chinese and the following weekend we are down at our daughters.

Hello Huia,
Well done on the weight loss, you are doing very well love.
It sounds like you are going to be a very busy bee over the next few days, so you will need to eat to keep your energy levels up.
But then you know what you can or can't eat now dont you, so just enjoy it.
Are you seeing your family over the christmas period. I do hope so, I don't like to think of you being on your own.
Whats your weather been like over there?.
I spoke to my cousin in OZ the other evening, and she said they had had lots of rain, but it was not cold over there.

Sylvia, how are you now sweetheart. I hope that the physio is still pleased with your progress.
You have done so well with it,haven't you.
Not long now till you go to your friends house on the island is it.
Will you be seeing MJ at all in the foreseeable (sp) future. I bet he is getting very big now.
Our baby Lilly will be one in January. This year has flown by, and it doesn't seem possible that she is now almost a year old.

Nearly time for me to get ready for bed, so I will say good night god bless you all. Mo xxx

Huia Report 11 Dec 2011 19:31

Good evening girls.

Yesterday I drove down to Hamilton, about 1 and a half hours, for a Christmas lunch. It was supposed to be from 1.30 to 4.00 but some people were late arriving and the chicken wings took ages to barbeque so it must have been about 2.30 before we started eating! Luckily I had stopped at Huntly on the way down for a mini pizza and a drink of hot chocolate, not to mention the other reason for a stop.

There were several salads, and lots of other salad things to make your own - tomatoes, beetroot, grated carrot, cucumber - so I made sure I ate those. There werent too many fattening things and this morning I find I have lost 500gms.

This afternoon I am working in the Hospice shop again and next day there is a morning tea for volunteers at the Hospice in Manurewa. The following day is the Christmas lunch in Phil's home. What a mad whirl. I just hope these 2 things dont have too much fattening food to tempt me.

I have posted a few Christmas cards but they will probably be late arriving so please dont think I have forgotten you.

Huia.

Hello ladies.
Sallie, the hospital have got until this friday, to sort out an appointment for Roly.
He was fine for about three days, but today it has started to ache again.
Poor Caz, she has enough to put up with, let alone her keep having these kidney infections.
We haven't heard from Marie for a while, I do hope she is well. Perhaps she has been busy with xmas preparartions.,but lets hope and pray she is well.
I am afraid I have no exciting news to tell you of, it's jusst been another relaxing day in our house, with very little or no housework done.
Bye for now girls, love to you all. Mo xxx

Mo, glad to hear that you had a great time last night. have you got any energy left after all that dancing and laughing? I'm afraid I don't go on Facebook Mo, tried it on there a couple of times in the past but not too keen on it.

I just have one present left to get and of course the last bits of food.

Still have a few pressies to pack, but at least the majority are done.

How are things with Roly? I hope he isn't in too much pain at the moment.

I have felt a good bit better today although not fully over it,so we managed to go to Derby this mornig so that I could get two of the last three presents I had left to buy. Only one more left to get now, so hopefully I will be able to get that in the week.

I had a pm from Caz earlier on this evening, she has asked me to let you all know that she has a kidney infection so might not be on here for a few days.
I hope that she will soon get over it and start to feel better. She has enough to put up with with the illnesses she already has without having anything more.

Jean hope your computer will start behaving itself soon. it will be nice to hear from you again.

Ann, I've sent you a pm, hope you get it okay.

Sylvia, Huia, Linda and Joyce thinking about you all and hoping that you are all well. Take care.

Well girls I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

Stay safe and keep warm.

Love and best wishes, Sallie.xxx

Hello girls,
I had a wonderful night out at our local golf club last night girls. A beautiful meal of, starter, Prawn Cocktail, main meal, Roast Turkey Dinner, Desert of Christmas Pudding and custard.
A live band to dance to, and much fun had by us all. I don't think I have laughed as much in ages, I don't know what ached the most, my feet or my jaw from the laughter.
If any of you are on Face Book, you can take a look at the photo's on there.

We lost at darts on thursday night, but it doesn't matter to us. But it would be nice if once in a while we could win more than one leg, out of nine lol.
No we not Octapuses (sp) they only have eight tentacles, and we needed nine legs. ;-)

Get well soon Sallie, this infection has gone on for long enough, and has dragged you down hasn't it love. Keep your chin up babe, and smile for aunty Mo :-)

Well girls, I hope we are all nearly ready for the big day. Our meat is all bought, cakes are made, sweets and chocolates and sundries are all got, just got the last minute bits like the veggies and bread etc to buy.
Cold meat, jacket spuds, and pickles are order of the day for boxing day, just to let the stomach settle after the feast on christmas day.
We all tend to over do the eating on that day don't we, well I know I do, and then suffer from chronic wind during the evening.

Hopefully I will be able to get back and speak to you tomorrow.
Take care everyone. Love to you all, Mo xxx

Hi again girls,

Jean, if you are looking in, thank you for your lovely Christmas card which arrived this afternoon.

When Alun came home from work this afternoon he took me up to town so that I could buy Christmas cards for a few members of my family and friends. I just haven't been able to get them done this week with having a chest infection and pleurisy. I wasn't out too long,
thank goodness, as the cold wind made the pain of the pleurisy worse.

I thought that some of the individual cards in the shops were terrible, and I felt awful about not being able to finish make them for our close family and friends.

Mo, I hope that Roly is feeling a bit better today and not suffering too much pain.

I hope everyone is alright and not suffering too much from the cold weather.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Ann, I thought it was the same lady. I don't know about having a good memory.....sometimes I go upstairs to put some clothes away to pick something else up, I put the clothes away and come down without the item I went up for.lol!!

Mo, hope you and your team did well last night. It was certainly a bad night weatherwise, to turn out.

Alun went to the model railway club as usual....he said there were only four of them there. One of the members that owns his own small local bus company couldn't get there as he was having to run passengers between Derby train station and another station. Not sure which one, but a tree had come down across the line somewhere, so they were having to run shuttle buses.

I'll look in again later on.
