Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 5 Jan 2012 13:45

Hello my lovely friends.

Ann, thank the lord your daughter has had a good result. We must now keep up the chain of healing for her, and keep her in our prayers.
OOOOOOOOO Healing thoughts for Ann's daughter, with love.OOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Marie, will you please slow down girl.
I know you feel you must do these things, but take care of yourself first, I don't like hearing you have hurt yourself.
You were oh so lucky not to have broken a bone my love, and then where would the family be without your support.
I am sorry I dont mean to nag at you, but it's because I care that I do it.

Here in Kent we are still suffering from the high winds, and heavy rain at times.
What a wonderful start to our New Year, but hey, we may get a descent summer this year. Tut tut, who am I kidding, we know what our weather is like don't we, a few nice days in April, and wham our summer is over.lol ;-)

I do hope that everyone is well, and bearing up. I send my very best wishes and love to you all. Mo xxx

Ann, glad to hear that it is mainly good news, but as you say it's now the waiting to find out where they go from here......not easy for you all, especially your daughter. I will still be thinking about her over the next couple of weeks and hoping for a good and positive outcome.

Will speak to you all later.

Sending lots of hugs and positive thoughts to Ann's daughter.

Well mixed news really, good and frustrating (because nobody likes waiting in these circumstances). This is what daughter told us.

"The good news is that the tumour was small as they thought from the scan and they were able to completely remove it with a clear margin. So that means they do not need to do any further surgery.

Also of the 14 nodes removed only the first (or “sentinel”) node had any cancer cells. The others were all clear which is good.

The nurse checked the scar and said it is healing well, and the swelling is as we thought normal fluid retention. As long as it doesn’t get any bigger she recommended leaving it to reabsorb on it’s own which it should do over the next few weeks.

The next step is an appointment with the Oncologist which will probably be in 2 weeks to talk through the benefits and risks of Chemo specifically in relation to my type of disease and age, and decide if I want to have Chemo, or just the Radiotherapy. So more waiting, and a difficult decision ahead."

She has also since said it is frustrating because she thinks they could have set up the appointment with the oncologist for next week not saying it would be about 2 weeks which means the appointment has not even been made.

Anyway, keep on with the thoughts please as they do seem to be working, good news that the cancer was only in the one node. :-)

Hello Girls,

Marie it's nice to hear from you. Sorry that you had a nasty fall at the weekend, hope that all swelling will soon go down.
It seems pretty quiet everywhere, especially on the message boards. Here it's very quiet in the shops too, it looks to me as though people are not buying things as perhaps the shops had hoped they would. Maybe it's just in this area, I don't know.

Alun, myself and Jennie went to Chesterfield yesterday afternoon, it's many years since we went there so it's changed a bit and for the better as far as we can remember. We enjoyed a couple of hours there even though it was windy, cold and at times very wet...but that seemed the norm for most, if not all the UK yesterday.

Sylvia and Huia, hope all is well with the both of you and your families.

Ann, thinking of your daughter and of course you and all the family.
Keeping my fingers and toes firmly crossed that the news will be good.

Hi To you all,
I am pleased to see that you all had a nice Xmas.It has been awhile since I posted thank you all for thinking of me.

I dont have anything much to report ,weather wise it is warming up very Quickly the night's are ok for sleeping which is very nice

The grand children had a lovely Xmas it was rather quiet for all the adults.
We have been working flat out trying to get most of the work done on Brian's and Kathleen's House how ever there is a lot to be done I cant see it all being finished by February.

I have been busy in the garden.I had a bad fall at the weekend , I tripped over a cement pot and came a cropper my left wrist and my right knee hit the cement floor in my graden shed, I had almost finished for the day ,I am very lucky that I have strong bones, I thought I may have broken a bone in my wrist, I had a lump the side of a golf ball and it has been so swollen that you could not see the veins on the top of my hand, now everything is black and still painful, the swelling on top of the hand has gone down.
thank goodness.

I will close wishing you the best of health and Happiness for 2012 we could do with a good year for 2012 love to you all ,Marie from OZ <3

thank you for that Sylvia. She is taking medication and has exercises to do but it is reassuring that she is not experiencing anything different to normal.

Hello everybody.

Mother and son are home, only 3 days after he arrived by caesarian. I didnt think NZ threw them out so quickly. I will be taking the other gt grandmother down to Hamilton in 2 days to visit them, as she doesnt drive. Must remember to take my camera!

Gt granny in a rocking chair. (Well, swivelling, and it does rock a little).

Ann

Having just been through lymph node removal (albeit only one was removed) ................. please tell your daughter to be patient.

But also tell her to take the medication to help control the pain.

Also tell her to have some physiotherapy to help improve matters. Over here, we have specialized physios who practise what they call Breast Health. They really can do wonders with their massaging and stretching

I still cannot wear the wired bras that I prefer ......... which is really why I have not been to the boob shop! And that is because of swelling in my underarm area that has still not gone down, after just over 3 months.

Unfortunately, doctors and nurses do not always tell you the full story of what to expect!

Hi Ann, I think that the worry makes the pain worse, but how do we all stop worrying when we are waiting for some medical results? It's not easy.

Sending her lots of extra hugs and positive thoughts.

Sallie, yes it was not until yesterday that we found out that we had the wrong day. I don't know how it happened but we both thought it was Tuesday 3rd not Thursday 5th. So two extra days to have to wait. Daughter is still suffering quite a lot of pain from where the lymph nodes were removed, she was warned that she would but that doesn't help. She is too sore to wear a bra so is doing the same that I did when I had my op to remove the rodent ulcer three years ago, she is wearing a camisole with a built in support.

Hello girls,

Nice to see you chatting on here, it's been so very quiiet on here for a good while.

Betty, I'm sorry to hear the news of the young man next door to you. As Mo has said I wonder if his mother now regrets her harsh words to him. Hope now that he is at peace, bless him.
A Happy New Year to you and yor family too, hope it will be a better year for you.

Ann, I thought you said that it was tomorrow that your daughter was going to get her results. Sending her and all of you positive thoughts for Thursday, like Caz, I will be keeping all my fingers and all my toes
crossed for a good result.

Mo, yes it would be nice if 2012 will be kind to us all, as you say I don't think any of us had a wonderful 2011 in one way or another.

I hope that your granddaughter's boyfriend is making a very good recovery and that from now on will have no more problems. As you say at 21 he is young to have had to suffer the indignities of having a bag, bless him......it is something that isn't nice at any age but so much worse when young.
Also hope your friend is making a good recovery and able to adapt to wearing her artificial leg.
Hope that both of them were in good spirits and positive looking.

Caz, how are things with you? I hope that you are feeling a bit better now.

Huia, hope the baby and his mum are doing OK. Have you seen your new gt.grandson yet and have they chosen a name yet ?

Sylvia, hope is well with you and OH, and that you had a good New Years Eve.

Jean, if you are looking in, hope you and your family are all well.

Take care everyone.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx
