LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 9 Feb 2012 23:16

Hope that everyone who is due tests gets good results, Ann, Caz and Sylvia's husband.

Not sure I will be going far tomorrow, winter wonder land here tonight.Oh my goodness it has been snowing for over an hour now, it actually looks like frozen rain ontop of the snow from earlier. The bird feeders have an inch on the top of them.

It is freezing cold too, even in the house

Sylvia, glad the hospital visit worked out ok and hopefully the polyp won't be cancerous.

I have put some more of Jean's cards on the blog.

I have a mammogram tomorrow so fingers crossed a) that it doesn't snow, b) that it isn't icy and c) that the mammogram is clear.

Hi Sylvia, good news about OH and fingers crossed that the polyp isn't cancerous.

Here in Derbyshire we had about 4 inches of snow on Saturday and still have a good bit hanging about on the pavements and side streets.
Just hope it isn't hanging about for more, as some people say here in the UK. Just wish we had some of the rain that you have over there so it would wash all the lingering snow away.lol!!

Caz, hope you have had good results from the hospital today. Thinking about you!

Jean, thanks for your pm, will reply as soon as I've finished on here.

Hope everyone is OK and take care.

Love, Sallie.xxx

hi all

rain rain rain today (Feb 8)

........... and today was the day OH had a colonoscopy at the local hospital ............. no driving afterwards, and had to be accompanied home by a responsible person ........................

me :-D

I don't drive, never have driven

so we had to go down on the bus (about a 20 minute ride), and then got a taxi home.

Anyway, the news is good .......... this was the 6 year exam after he had a colon resection. One small polyp removed, go back to see the doc in 1 year, and have a colonoscopy in 2 years.

The polyp will be examined of course to make sure it isn't cancerous. But it doesn't seem that the doc was too concerned.

More rain tomorrow ........ so we are in a warm wet period

OH saw the first snowdrop in flower in our garden this morning

take care everyone

Sallie ask about it on the craft thread, maybe somebody will see it on there.

I have been popping in and out but don't seem to have had a lot of time for chatting, made quite a few cards to take me through the next couple of months and now staring to scrapbook again.

Linda, I am pleased that all is going well with Mum and babe, lovely to see them when they are so little.

No snow here and last night not even a frost thank goodness. Quite cold out though when we went to do our weekly shop.

Mo hope your darts was cancelled and you didn't have to venture out in the cold and hope you don't get any more snow. :-D

Just made some chicken and veg soup with the carcase of the chicken so that is tomorrows lunch. T is decorating the cloakroom.

Hi Linda,

Glad to know that all is going well with the new mum and baby. Sounds as though you all had a good time yesterday celebrating your son's birthday......lovely to have your new grandson there with you altogether.

Jean, you are doing really well with your cards, there's no stopping you.lol!!
I'm trying to make the birthday and anniversary cards that I need over the next couple of months......so many special birthdays in our family this year.
Before it started to snow on Sunday we went to the craft centre at the garden centre a few miles away, and I bought myself an embossing board to make cards, but I can't work out how to use, I've tried a few times but without much success...... the instructions with it are not very clear at all.

Caz, good luck for tomorrow, hope the results are good, I will be thinking about you. Hope your ankle is feeling a bit better and more comfortable.

Hope everyone else is alright and keeping warm.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Morning all
Very cold here in Berkshire, still have snow on our lawn, hopefully it will warm up today, though it will be very cold overnight.

Have spent a couple of days with the new Mum and all is going well. Feeding is getting better everyday for them both. Their dog was introduced to the baby yesterday and he took very little interest and wasn't too worried that my daughter had to take time with the baby.

Had all the family here for a meal yesterday to celebrate our son's birthday, which was really nice. The baby's first outing. Our youngest's birthday is in 2 weeks so it will happen again then. February will be busy for us.

Hope everyone is well.

Glad you get to see Phil Huia and hope he is a little responsive the next time you see him.
We need to take the baby to see my Mum soon. But it is an hours drive there so needs to be planned. She will be thrilled though and my daughter wants to see her very soon. Can't believe it is nearly 4 months since my father passed away, but she seems happy in the home and well looked after.

Hi girls,
We have got at least six inches of snow here. The main roads have been cleared, but our side roads are treacherous.
At the moment it's starting to freeze outside, so tomorrow it's going to be a stay at home day.
I am hoping that they will cancel the darts match tomorrow night, as I don't fancy us having to make the journey to the venue if it's icy.
We have got the central heating, and the gas fire going, to try and keep warm.
Sorry to be so late getting here, but a friend of mine phoned me, and we were on the phone for over an hour, catching up with each others lives.
I am just glad it was her ringing me, and not the other way round though.

I hope you are all keeping safe and warm. Take care of yourselves. Love Mo xxx

Only had a light covering yesterday and none here left now. It was foggy this morning but we have had some sum which melted the snow and ice. Hope we don't get any more anyway.

Hi, Sylvia, Its thick with snow here, at least 6/8 inches worth. and there looks as though there is a lot more to come, my biggest worry is for D she tarvels every day over the Pennines to Huddersfield its a treacherousroad at the best of times.... I wont be moving anywhere.....

Sallie I decide I would do some fathers day cards earlier this year last year I was late doing them and had a lot left so I thought I would do a few now and then , also Mothers day cards, I have done some valentines too. but I need to use up some of the many packs of card blanks I have , which does make life easier.... hope you send pics of your cards to Ann, so we can see them, hope you and the family are doing o.k. and Jennie is getting on well...xx

Huia, just had a look at the picture of your house or should I say Mansion it looks huge, but in a lovely setting, do you have any near neighbours? it would be to remote for me , but I have always lived in or near a town, so I suppose its what you prefer.... hope Phil is doing as well as he can, it must be tiring for you to go so much and also sad when you dont get much response, my friends OH was in the same condition, and she used to get so upset, until a nurse said he is very happy in his own world its the relatives that worry .... so much love and hugs for you....xxx

Hi Ann I get up at lunchtime for a bit but hubby pushes me on my typist chair, then get up at teatime to sit in my recliner chair for the night. I am the worlds worst patient so hope they don't send me into hospital on Thursday as they said they might if there is no sign of healing. As you say the state of my bones won't help but they mentiioned it themselves and said it might not heal well because of it.

Hello girls, just popping in to say hello, and then back to my research.
My cousin in Australia has such a lot of lovely photo's that I have been looking at.
My other cousin out there has been ringing me every night, asking for updates, and she is going to ring her.
How lovely is this, finding long lost cousins that we had no idea existed.
Take care all of you, love and best wishes. Mo xxx

Ann, I presume I must have driven into a stone that had been thrown up by either me or another vehicle.

Must go and change, I will visit Phil this morning then go to our gen rooms on the way back to look up something for another person.

AnninGlos Report 3 Feb 2012 17:48

Huia you seem to be having a few little things go wrong with your car. How did the light get smashed?

Caz, I expect you have to rest in bed to get your leg to heal because your bones are fragile. But surely you must have to move around a bit? to avoid other problems like bed sores and DVD. Let's hope the x-ray shows it is healing.
