Mo, I'm so pleased to see you post again tonight, I have been very concerned and worried about you lately. It's good to hear that you are going to play darts tonight. Hope you and your team will win.

Glad that Lilly is doing well, it sounds as though she's a joy to watch and listen to, bless her. Yes Mo, you could have a budding pop star there, let's hope that if she becomes a famous pop singer she'll make millions.lolol!!

Helloooo girls, it's me again lol.
Yes Jean, I know the 3rd of March IS a special day. And I know that things are going to be fine for me, as things are now starting to move. ( you will know what I mean by that lol)
Just think 56 years is a good long time isn't it. I thought us with 48 years, was quite good, but you are such a success both of you.

Caz love, I wish they would put grab rails all round your walls, to give you the extra support you need.
I am sorry to hear you are still getting so much pain, god bless you, take it real easy please.

Sallie, our baby Lilly is coming along lovely. She has started walking now, but only round the furniture. Our son said she does walk unaided, but when we were there on Tuesday the little monkey would not do it. So that night he videod her, and sent it to me via Face Book, and blow me down, the pickle was doing it alone. lol
Her other grandmother bought her a Winnie the Poo singing bear for her birthday, and when it plays one particular tune, she turns into a proper little head banger, throwing her head around in the air, it's so funny to watch. She doesn't do it to any other tunes it plays, just the one. Perhaps she will grow up into a proper pop singer.

Ann, I have found also that our local charity shops only sell what I class as bulk standard cards.
They are all so boring, not nearly as nice as the home made ones that you girls make.
I hope that the cream is helping with the ulcer, and that it's not to sore for you.
How is your daughter doing ?

No news from Marie, Sylvia, Huia, Joyce or our other friends. I hope they are all well, and will pop in and say hello to us.

I must go now girls, darts tonight.
Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Ann, I haven't thought of using photos for mens cards. Not sure if Alun has any photos of steam trains that would be suitable to use,I'll have to have a look through them. I usually try and use something that the man I'm making it for is interested in, like a hobby, music, sport or cars etc. I have some thing I can use but I think I've used them for some of the men already. I'm sure I'll find something.lol!!
Thanks for your suggestion.

I sometimes use photos for male cards Sallie, have taken quite a few of harbours, yachts etc. But also sometimes use scenes as well.

Just thought does A have any photos of steam trains that you could use?

Hi Jean,

I still haven't tried the spray and slide....thinking now that if you found no difference I'm sure I won't.lol!! They make it look so easy on Cr---e and C---t that we think that we will have no problems using the embossing boards with the spray and slide. Just wish the embossing boards had better instructions on how to use them and maybe the C&C demonstraters were perhaps a little more honest on how difficult some crafters might find it.

You are doing well with your card making.....I have now started making the cards for all the March birthdays I have. Quite a few family members and very close friends have March birthdays. It's the men that I'm having a problem with at the minute, so will have to look in the Craft shops to see if they have something new that I can use.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello all. Jean I took 15 cards to the CRUK charity shop yesterday. Not sure how much they needed them though as they did seem to have rather a lot. I think one of the craft magazines supports them. Other charity shops don't seem to sell hand made cards, they have racks of shop type cards. Still they will sell eventually.

Good afternoon girls,

A cloudy dull day here in SE Derbyshire, although there have been times when the sun has tried to break through.

Mo, lovely to see you posting, I hope that things aren't too bad with you and are feelimg a little better. Hope all will go well for you on the 3rd, March.
How is your little granddaughter doing? I expect she's into everything now.lol!!

Caz, also nice to see you posting too. Don't worry about not having much to say, it's nice to hear how you are.
I popped up to town today for a few things, I wasn't there long, I spent longer in the Post Office than anywhere else as I had to post the anniversary cards to my brother and sister-in-law......hope they get them for Saturday, as it's on Sunday. I'm not holding my breath as in the past they have taken two weeks to get cards to where I sent them.lol!!

Jean hope you are okay. Have you tried using the candle for the dry embossing yet?

Ann, how are you today? Hope you are feeling a little less sore.
Hope daughter is getting along alright with another week of treatment.

Linda, are you still back and fore your daughter's. Hope the knitting is coming along okay. I started a small picture in cross stitch when our son Richard was two weeks old and never finished it, that will be thirty years in March.lol!!

Sylvia, hope you and OH are alright. Has OH received the results of his Colonoscopy yet? Hope there is no problem other than what they told him.

Joyce, hope you and Jan are both alright. Have you made any more cards over the last few days? Thank you for the peel offs you sent me, I received them yesterday.

Huia, hope you are alright and that all was well with Phil when you last visited him. Are you still busy in the Charity Shop?

Marie, hope things are improving for you and your family. Tinking of you all.

Well ladies I must go and get a few jobs done now, so will speak to you all soon.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo, sending you lots of hugs and positive thoughts for 3rd, March.

Hi girls, just popped on to say hello, no news but there again I never have with the boring life I lead. Spent most of the day in bed again with my foot up, it's hurting more so I wonder if I am using it too much when I walk. Talking about insanity I think that's the way I am heading at the moment with all that's wrong with me.
We had a new grab rail fitted in the bathroom this morning, making eight in all so wherever I am theres no chance of falling.
Hope everyones keeping ok, at least the weather is warming up a bit.

Love Caz xx

Hello my lovely friends.
Firstly I must apologise for not popping in to speak to you for a few days, but hey ho here I am, alive and kicking, woo hoo.

Linda, what good news about baby Sebastion. It's so comforting when they start to gain their birth weight back, and more.
The jaundice seems to affect a lot of new born babies doesn't it. All but my first child, were close to having to have a blood transfusion when they were born.
My fourth child, had one more point to go, and would definately have had to have one done. But luckily being under the lights altered that for her. My youngest son, was fine and was no where near the danger point. Mind you, he was born 7 years after his sister, and not as closely born as the others.
It's good to hear you have got the knitting needles out again, for little man's cardigans. Mmmmm keeping him nice and warm.

Well I do hope you are all keeping well.
This is a nuisance I can't remember what was said over the page. But please know that I am thinking of you all.
Oh and Joyce, thank you for the lovely card, I forgot to thank you before. See insanity is not far away lol
Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 15 Feb 2012 09:52

Good morning everyone
Sorry not to have added for a while but been spending a lot of time with my daughter helping her to gain confidence in her new role. She is doing well, considering we never thought she would have her own child. Feeding really going well Baby back to his birth weight then gained 3 oz over 4 days. He has been handed to Health Visitor care now as his jaundice is almost gone. She took me out to meet her NCT parenting class ladies yesterday and drove there herself(as I don't drive). So that was a big step.

We have our son's dog over the next weekend as he has to go to Harrogate on business. So a different kind of caring, much more energetic !!!

Sallie I have been knitting...... finished a tiny 3 ply cardigan I started ages ago, just needed sewing up and buttons. Then I started a 2nd size cardigan in random blue wool.

I must finish a cross stitch I started of Peter Rabbit, it needs backing only.

Oh well have caught up with the washing just need to do the ironing and maybe go for a walk later on as the weather has greatly improved ........ no snow and much warmer.

Ann, glad to hear that your daughter is coping ok with her treatment, but sorry that she is very sore and tired from it.
Hope that the Aldara ceam is working and that it will get rid of the rodent ulcers for you. Let's hope that you will get some good weather when you go to the Lake District in March.....at least if it's dry you can det out and about a bit easier.

Jean, hope you can get the candle wax to work for you on the embossing boards.

I've just made three special Ruby Wedding cards for my brother and sister-in-law, they celebrate it on Sunday. I made one to send from Alun and myself, then Jennie and then Richard asked if I could make one each for them to send too. I must say, they turned out quite well, better than I expected as I hadn't made any cards since before Christmas.

Been over to Jennie's this evening, she's been suffering with her Crohn's for almost a week but didn't say anything not to worry her dad and me. She tells us that it is slowly getting better, so we'll have to wait and see.

Well I'll say goodnight now, a bit late tonight I'm afraid.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello all. thanks for news of Caz Joyce. Sorry she'd had a bad night though. Hope the reduced morphine works and that you get on ok with the new wheel chair.

Sallie, L has started her treatment, finishes about 22 Feb. She is coping ok although it makes her very tired and sore.

I am also sore from using the Aldara cream on the rodent ulcers, not sure if it is doing any good either.

Made several cards for the charity shop and now have about 14/15 to take in for them. forgot to photograph them and theya re now all in plastic envelopes so can't do it now.

Jean we go to the Lake District on 10 March and Tenerife on 25 April.

Mo shall be thinking of you on 3 March. :-)

Hello, friends, hope you are all coping the best you can. we are doing o.k. now the dreaded snow has gone.Just been and spent too much at the craft shop...lol... Sallie I watched a video on you tube, showing how to do the embossing boards it seems you can use a candle to lubricate the cardon the back , and use the spray n slide on the back of the card, I know I have a can somewhere but still cant find it , so will have a go with a candle and see if that works....I need to do a special Golden wedding card soon so may make a booktrix one....
Joyce I hear you are into cuttlebugging also, again you can see lots of Ideas on you tube I have just bought some X cut dies so now I will have a go...but I hope we will get to see your cards too...
Marie hope you are well, also Huia and Phil. Sylvia too.
Mo keep your pecker up , we are all rooting for you, stay positive my friend...
Ann when do you go away ? how long this time?
well folks must go and do some crafting ,
love and hugs to everyone Jean xx

Hello girls,

Hope you are all alright, as it's so quiet on here. I've been busy making birthday and anniversry cards, so I can now start to make the birthday cards for the eight birthdays I have in March......so I need to pull my finger out.lol!!

Dutch, nice to see you on here, you don't come on here very much now.

Linda, how are things with your daughter and grandson? Hope things are going along alright with them both.
Have you been doing anymore knitting lately?

Mo, how are things with you, hope you are OK as you seem to be very quiet lately. Are you still in the darts team.

Ann, how are things with your daughter? Has she started her treatment yet? If she has, I hope that she is coping okay with it.

I haven't been on your craft thread for a while so will have to have a look at it. The last time I looked at it, there was some lovely things on there.

Caz, lovely to see you posting, sorry to hear from Joyce that you are still suffering quite a bit of pain. I hope that things will now start to improve so that at least you don't have to stay on bed rest for most of the day. I will be thinking about you.

Huia and Marie, it's a long time since we seen you both on here. Hope all is well with you and yours. Take care both of you.

Jean, I still haven't tried that embossing board, I keep putting it off thinking that it's going to be messy using the lubricant that I bought and that it's going to be difficult to do. I'm always nervous about trying something new.lol!!
Hope you, Jeff and Debra are okay and that Debra hasn't had too much trouble getting to work.

Sylvia, hope all is well with you and OH and that the weather has improved there. Although it's still quite cold here it isn't freezing so most of the snow has now gone, thank goodness.

Well girls, I have to go up to town now so will speak to you soon.

Take care everyone.

Hi girls hope you all are ok in this freezing weather, I can only go by what people tell me and see on the news how cold it is, lovely and warm in the flat. It's been snowing today and has covered and I think we may have some more yet.
Thanks for all your thoughts, my ankle still hurts, actually more than it did but I am spending a lot of time with it up in bed as I was told but I hate it. I sit at night with it up in recliner with a pillow under it. I feel like a lady of leisure now, oh is running round like a scalded cat lol.
I hope your mammogram goes ok Ann and Sylvias oh's will be ok.
I haven't read the threads so don't know what is happening so can't comment.
