Happy Easter everyone

Hope you all had a good time.

We had toasted Hot Cross Buns for lunch, and will have roast beef for dinner, with home-grown leeks from the garden :-D

OH sows leek seed in the early summer in one small area of the veggie patch, and just leaves them alone, doesn't thin or anything. Then he transplants them in about September when everything else has finished. Then he leaves them alone over the winter.

We start to pick them in about February ........... they're thin and tender, and sooooooooooooo good!

We have been promised rain for the past week but it still hasnt come (except in the Gisborne area where they had flooding). Now it is supposed to be coming in a couple of days. In the meantime it is a beautiful sunny day, not too many clouds in the sky, although looking oujt the window there are a couple moving very steadily from the south. I have never seen them move that fast. Must be quite a jet stream up there.

I will be doing a bit more carpentry today. I did a little yesterday, enlarging a hole in the side of a bookcase so I could pass an electric plug through it. First though, I have to finish reading My Threads.

Oh what a flamin miserable day, weather wise. It's dull, and been raining on and off all day.
Sylvia, I have changed my mind, instead of your rain, can we please have some of your sunshine.

Fed up of Kent, Mo. lol

Oh Caz, I am sorry there is not a lot they can do for your ankle love. Lifes never easy is it, what with one thing and another.
Thank goodness your snow has gone, brrr nasty horrid white stuff gets on my pip.

I am lucky Ann, we will be going up to our local club for a game of darts tomorrow, and meet our friends. Otherwise it would be such a long day stuck in the house. Monday we are due a lot of rain apparantly, so that would mean another day indoors.

Today we have seen both our youngest grandaughter and great grandaughter. My word our G.Grandaughter has grown so much since we last saw her, I can't believe she will be 1 next month, and Lilly is now 15 months old, the time seems to have flown by.

Not a lot of news to tell you about I'm afraid, what a boring life I lead lol.
Take care everyone. Love Mo xxx

Sallie, thank you for your card which arrived today.

Caz, let's hope they are wrong and that the pain will ease for you.
A damp chilly day here today but we did manage a trip to Dunelm and the range this morning, didn't want to stay in as there isn't anywhere to go tomorrow as all the shops will be shut and the garden centres.

Hello girls, must have missed coming on yesterday. I didn't have the x-ray as the doctor said my ankle is a bit messy from the other x-ray I had. It's the combination of the break and the cancer in it and she said it will never be right and always hurt but nothing I can do. Oh well, just another thing to put up with.
Sylvia we had a bit of snow here the other day, it looked lovely all white, especially up on the moors but I'm glad it's gone now.
Sally got your card this morning , thank you, I haven't sent any, I don't know why but never do.
Take care everyone.

Hello everyone,
Sylvia, can you please some of the rain showers over here, today we have started a hose pipe ban in most areas of the country.
I suppose we are lucky, in as much as with Roly having the disabled Blue badge, he is able to use the hosepipe. But it's normally me that waters the garden, so I shall have to get the whip out,and get him to do it for us. I'm afraid he just does not have green fingers, and hates gardening at the best of times. lol
How did the physio go for you? has she got you doing the same excercises as you had to do following your op, or has she been a she devil, and increased them for you.

Thank goodness you were able to sort your connection out Huia. It's surprising how we come to rely on our computers,as a lifeline to the outside world isn't it.
Are any of your family coming to you for the Easter period?

I am being a little scamp tonight. I am of to the dogs with my friends from the Thursday night dart team.
We are having a meal, and then watching the lovely greyhounds racing.
I may spend a few coppers on a small bet, but then again, I might spend a lot more ;-)
It's turned sooo cold here today, that I am sitting here with the gas fire on,something I have not had to do for a wee while.

Fingers crossed for Caz, who has been for her xrays today. Lets hope she has had a good result......Thinking of you Caz.

Has anyone heard from Joyce lately?

Sallie thank you for the Easter card, it arrived in todays post. I have been rather remiss this year, and not sent any.
I hope you are feeling a little better now, and that the old black dog has bu**ered of and left you alone love.

Sending (HUGS) to our Jean, thin king of you sweetie.

Ann are you and T at home for Easter? or are you going to the family.

I must away now girls, take care, love and hugs to you all. Mo xxx

Yesterday I took my computer to town to get my new antivirus thing installed as I cant do it on dialup. I also asked them to update a couple of other things that keep telling me to update. When I got home I found I couldnt dial up my ISP. It came up with error 680, no dial tone. I rang my providers and I was taken through the process of deleting the dial up and reinstalling it, but still I got the error. I rang them a couple more times and the last time it was suggested that it might be my phone modem, so I rang the people who did the installing. I wondered if it might have put a block on my ISP. He offered to open up tomorrow but I said I could wait until Saturday if they were open then. I was told to ring him tomorrow anyway.

After dinner and watching Coro St I had another look, pushing all the plugs in as far as they would go and still it didnt work. I found another cord the same and decided to try it and eureka, it worked, so I must have damaged the first cord somehow. I was a bit depressed at the thought that I might not be able to get on the internet over Easter.

Off to look at a couple of other threads, then head to bed.

Hi all
xx

it has been a lovely sunny spring day today! It only got up to about 10C though, so still a little chilly, but I have had the patio door open most of the afternoon.

I had a physio appointment yesterday (3 weeks pass so quickly these days!!) ...... it was pouring with rain when I left the house at 11 am. And it was still raining very hard when I went into the physio's after having coffee across the street from him. It was drizzling when I came out at about 1:45 pm and went across the street to have lunch ................. and had stopped raining by the time I came out from lunch at almost 2:30 pm

I did some shopping, then caught the bus to go and meet OH for our regular afternoon coffee ............ and by that time the sun was shining!!

Weird!

But it also meant that a lot of new snow fell on the mountains to the north of the harbour! One of the ski slopes there got over 70 cm :-0. There are 4 ski areas on those mountains, and they are all less than about 15 minutes from downtown.

Take care everyone

Mo, Ah Carol with numbers, I thought it was starnge if it was Susan and she hadn't said anything to me. We never take out extra insurance for anything, over the years that has paid off, insurance is too expensive. Glad you ahve got your laptop back anyway.

Caz, hope all goes well with the Xray and it shows up what is causing the ongoing pain.

Hi Girls,

Just a quick look in before I go to do the 'dreaded shopping'.lol!!

Mo, glad to hear that you have had your laptop back, it seems a while since you took it to be repaired, or it might be, that I have lost my sense of time.
We have never paid insurance on any of the laptops or PC's we have had over the years. Once we passed the guarentee, Alun sorts out any problems himself. It's a shame you aren't living near us, I'm sure he would be able to sort out any of your computer problems for you, too.

We had sleet this morning, but no snow thank goodness. It's very windy and cold with quite a lot of rain this afternoon. Just hope we don't get any snow.

Caz, good luck for tomorrow, hope all goes well at the hospital for you. Will be thinking about you.

Hope everyone else is OK. I'm sorry I haven't got time to speak now, but will look in again later on today.

Take care
.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Cooeeee girls,
Yippeeee I have got my own laptop back at long last. They had to change the keyboard, and cleaned the memory up for me.
The only thing is, we asked them to check the battery, as it was not keeping charge, even if we had to a for a new one, but it doesn't appear that they have done that, so if I have problems again losing power to quickly, back it will go again.
As we are paying £7.99 a month insurance I need to have something done for my money. lol We have decided that we may stop the insurance, just wondered what everyones opinion on this please.

Has anyone got the dreaded snow yet? We haven't yet, but the sky is looking very heavy, so it could be snow up in the clouds.

Mo I am having it x-rayed on Thursday before I see the doctor, it's a bit like when you have toothache and book the dentist, the ache goes, mind you it's best to have it seen to. X-ray appointment is 9 o'clock
My cleaners come every Monday as I can't get to do it myself, theres two of them working together and spend half an hour here, it doesn't cost me much , I always feel good when they have gone.
Ann I take morphine tablets which make me sleepy so I can sleep any time, just close my eyes and I'm off.
Well I'm off now for my tea.

Ann, I was very lucky to get on the train that I did. The one prior to mine, was cancelled, and I think that half of Kent had decided to get on the one I wanted.
I had gone to the furthest end of our station platform, thinking that when I got to Victoria I would not have so far to walk, uhhhh NO, I could not get into the first six carriages when the doors opened, and no one was prepared to move to allow people to get on.
When I eventually found a door to go in, I had to stand for three stations, till I could get a seat.
It was absolutely heaving with people, and most of them were going up to London.
Carol's husband came with her, as she was nervous about the travel on her own, bless her.
Sorry Ann, it was not Susan with numbers, but Carol with numbers, my mistake. It's my age .

Caz, now the house is looking like a new pin, after the visit of your cleaner, you must get something done about your ankle, wether it be tomorrow or when you go on Thursday, please mention it to someone who can help you love.

Bye for now girls, love to you all, Mo xxx ;-)

Huia what a pain, I do hope that you find your negatives on the hard disc.

Caz, you obviously need the sleep, or is it the medication making you sleep? Let's hope you can get that ankle sorted soon.

Mo, I am so jealous at you meeting Susan wiv, been wanting to meet her for ages now. Glad you had a good time at the meet. With petrol and parking it would be prohibitive to get to london by car and the rail fair from Gloucester, to say nothing of the service is awful. :-( :-(

Hi huia, I wondered where you were, nice to see you back. I am going back to get my leg looked at Tuesday because my cleaners come tomorrow and I can't do with missing them, another day won't hurt. To be honest though I have an appointment for Thursday, x-ray first thing then see the doc at 11 so I might wait.
Mo I have a new computer, had it about six months but it's the thought of transfering all my stuff onto it that puts me off. I'll have to do it one day so don't know why I don't get on with it. I might ask my son when he comes over one day and has time.
I've been resting in bed all day and slept most of it and I am still tired so might go to bed early.
I only read when I'm in bed and then it's only a card magazine, I started a book yonks ago and only manage a page and a half before I am asleep, lol.

going for a cuppa then bed.

Hello Huia,
Thank goodness you are o.k, we did miss you, you know. I am so glad you are now back online with us.
I remember your scanning all the negatives a while ago, what a nuisance if you do have to do all that hard work over again. It took you ages to do them didn't it.
I am still waiting for my laptop to come back from being repaired. They have had it for over a week now, and I am fed up of trying to cope with this one of my sons.
By the time I have finished typing, I am nearly boss eyed with it rolling all over the place.

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend. Mine has been a lazy one, apart from going up to the meet yesterday, I have done nothing today, apart from cooking the dinner.

I am going to read some more of my book now, so I will say cheerio for now.
Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Hello girls. No this is not an April fool joke. I have been without the internet for over a week now. My old computer (which I had had for just 4 weeks! a refurbished one) gave up so I decided it was time to bite the bullet and buy a brand new one. Those table top tables I made for the previous one are no use for this as it is an all-in-one computer. I had to wait for a telephone modem to be made as I cant get broadband here and all the computers are made for bb only. Now I am finding my way around it and installing various websites. The people who had sold me the last computer are downloading the stuff off the harddrive for me, as my external hard drive turned out to be empty! :-0 At least I had a lot of the earlier stuff on CDs so was able to install a lot of photos, but all the negs I scanned last year I didnt have on CD so I hope they are one the old hard drive. The thought of having to scan all those negs again is horrifying. :-|
