Mo in Kent Report 4 May 2012 18:51

Hi Caz,
I know what you mean about not being able to make appointments at the hospital.
My future Daughter in Law had a heck of job getting the appointment for my grandaughter, to see the paediatrician.
It's bad enough with Lilly being a baby, but for yourself it's even more urgent for you to get the report from the Oncologist love.
I also hope our Jean does come back soon, she is like the thread that keeps us all together, bless her.
Is there any news from Joyce, as she has not been on for a while.
Take care my love. Mo xxx

YorkshireCaz Report 4 May 2012 18:20

Mo I had a letter from Jean during the week but it took a full week to get here. I am going to ring her in the morning, in fact I've been going to all week but haven't been well so kept putting it off. I've missed her "talking" to her every morning, hope she comes back one day.
I can't see oncologist tomorrow as she was going to look at the results of my ct scan, I couldn't get in to make an appointment for one, always engaged. The secretary has made me an appointment for one middle of May, I don't know why they didn't make me one in the first place instead of me having to do it.

Hope you are all ok.

Love Caz x

Hello girls,
I can't believe it's been almost three days since I was on here last, sorry about that, time flies by when you are having fun.

Sallie, we were in the knock outs at darts last night, and we went out in the first round.

We all threw like idiots, but there you go, we never get never two nights alike, lol

I cant believe we had dropped down to page three Sallie, thanks for reviving us, or we would have vanished into oblivion :-(

Cor Linda, 9 baby hats for the special care unit. I bet they cheer for joy when you take them in to them.
I know that the specialist nurses are always grateful, to the people like yourself, who are caring and giving.
Aaah another little boy for you to love. Is he the one who is due in September?
I bet your fingers are itching to buy the pink wool though. lol

Well our baby Lilly has got to see a paedatrician, about the tummy problems she is still suffering from.
This has been happening since she was rushed into hospital up in Scotland, back in February.
Her mummy had to ring the hospital to make the appointment for her, and she will not be seen till the 28th of June.
Thats a long time to wait, seeing as she has had this for such a long time, and will be six months from the start till she sees someone, disgusting I think.

Well I must go and start some preparations for our dinner now. Hopefully I will speak to you tomorrow.
Take care one and all. Love Mo xxx

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 3 May 2012 23:13

Hi Sallie
I have had issues today too. when you do get on you never know if the post will be added or not too.
The hats for premature babies were on sites on the internet, the knitted ones are easier, the crochet ones not so nice(to my mind). I have now got about 9 ready to go to the special care unit at Reading hospital.
The cardigans are just first size. Ready for our second grandchild if needed. Today we found out it is forecast to be another boy> So no pink baby wool yet !!

Just finishing off the first of 2 sleeping bags for the baby due in September. So my needles are still clicking.

Hi Girls, thought I'd nudge this thread up a bit, it was on page five. I have had a lot of trouble getting on here and a couple of other threads from last night through until about 45 minutes ago. I wish GR would sort this site out.......kept getting the Error message, so hope I'll be able to post this OK.

Mo, hope you'll have a good match tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Puss, how are you getting on with making your bracelets? Hope you are feeling better today.

Sylvia, hope you and OH are enjoying your break away for 4-5 days. Let's hope you are getting good weather.

Ann, if you are looking in, you are lucky that you are missing all this lovely British weather we are all having.lol!! Hope that you are both enjoying the break.

Caz, hope you are feeling a lot more comfortable and that your ankle isn't too painful at the moment.

Linda, love the little baby hats and coats that are on Ann's blog. Do you have a special pattern to make them, or are they just first size?

Well, if this site behaves itself I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

Take care.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo, thanks for passing Jean's message on. I've actually managed to get on to my e-mails this evening, so seen Jean's message, I'll reply to her after I've finished on here.

It's nice to be able to talk to the Counsellor again, there are one or two things that have come out that I didn't think had anything to do with the cause of my problem, but now I know they deffinitely do. Just have to learn how to deal with these things now, but I'm sure that with her help I will.

As you say they seem to start clubbing a lot younger these days, even younger than when our own children did. Oh, it certainly makes me feel ancient too.lol!! Did he enjoy himself with all his mates?
Bless him too!

I'll have to look at the threads to see if I can find the thread from Puss,
I bet she's over the moon.

Caz, hope you aren't feeling too bad at the moment, I'm thinking of you.

Hope all our other friends on here are alright.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

Hello everyone, how are we all today.
I had a lovely E.Mail from our Jean today. She sends you all her love and best wishes.
Caz, can you ring Jean at sometime, when you have the time, for a chat. There is nothing wrong so don't worry, I just think she is missing your chats, bless her.
Sallie ,Jean sent you an e.mail to your new addy, but she's not sure if you received it.

Sylvia, if I don't get a chance to say it before you go away, or I forget( and thats more than likely) have a lovely break away.
It was good to hear from you love, I was getting quite concerned when we didn't hear from you.

Cor love a duck Ann, running round in shorts, you brave girl. You wouldn't be able to do that here just yet anyway, you be more likely to need welly boots and a rain mac.

Hi Sallie,
No darts tonight, the season has finished for the monday league, till about September time.
Still playing Thursday nights though.
Hows things with you and Alun going.
When is your next meeting with the counsellor? I dare say she is helping get you one over on the old black dog. Just what you needed isn't it love, someone to talk things over with, who is non commital, and unbiased about things.

I think I saw a thread from Puss, saying she is to be a grandmother. Thats great news isn't it girls.
I bet she is made up about it.

My youngest grandson, went to his first ever night club on Saturday night.
My son put a message up on face book about it, he was saying how he is now feeling old. lol
This is when the worry starts for him, lets face it, we have all been there, done it, and bought the T/Shirt.
My grandson is only nearly 12, but they seem to start so young these days, going out clubbing. And with my son being 34, he is feeling old, huh, that makes me feel ancient. :-S

Well my lovelies, I will say cheerio for now, and hope to speak to you all tomorrow. Love Mo xxx

Caz, I hope you are bearing up my love. Thinking of you, and hoping the pain is easing a little in your ankle.

Ooops, I forgot to say a BIG HELLO and ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) for Jean xxx

Sallie Report 30 Apr 2012 11:37

Good morning from a dry, bright and sunny Derbyshire. Oh, it's great to see blue sky again.lol!!

Linda, pleased to hear that your grandson is doing well. I'm sure that reflux problem he has will sort itself out as he get's a bit bigger. My friend's son born four days after Richard (my son) had the same problem.....he wasn't gaining as much weight as the health visitors
at the baby clinic said he should.......he's now aged thirty, a strapping young man and over six feet tall.

I wish I could concentrate on knitting or crocheting again, it's not such a messy hobby as card making.lol!! I have to go through my card making stuff again, it really needs sorting out.....trouble is I need to buy more storage boxes again before I start.

Sylvia, lovely to hear from you and to know that you and your family are all OK.

Hope you and OH enjoy your five days away and have some good weather too.

Caz, glad to hear that things aren't too bad for you at the moment. Have you heard from Joyce lately? Another week before she goes to the hospital for blodd tests and xrays......hope they will be able to sort out the problem for her. I know she is hoping to come over at the end of June and also to have a meet in Sheffield. Just hope that she will be allowed to fly towards the end of June...fingers crossed.

Puss, how are things with you today? Hope you are OK and that you also have it dry and sunny there today too.
How are getting on with your bracelet making? I haven't been able to do any cards since I pulled the muscle in my chest last Wednesday. It's slowly improving thank goodness.

Ann, glad to hear that the weather is lovely for you in Tenerife and that the rain only lasted the one day.Take care and enjoy yourselves.

Mo, how are you and Roly today? Hope you are both alright. Are you playing a darts match tonight? Good luck if you are.

Well, I must get a couple of jobs done now, will speak to you all later on.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi Actually we only had Friday wet. \saturday and today have been glorious, the sun was out today until it set at 8.45pm when there was a glorious sunset. In fact I am still in shorts. But this time of year anything can happen so it may well be raining again tomorrow. :-D

Hi girls, Puss I seem to be having more scans and tests lately, I hate MRI though with being claustrophobic, still I am getting old now so I suppose I can expect these things. Linda my ankle will always be a bit painful the doc said, plus I have cancer in it which doesn't help things, I walk on crutches anyway so it all helps me get around.
Ann what a shame it's been wet on your holiday, we need it here, specially in Yorkshire but not when you go away to the sun. In fact it has rained all day here.
Oops supper is ready see you all later.

Hi Mo, and everyone

Sorry I haven't been on here much for the last week or two ............. I've been doing OH's tree.

Mo ................ it's good to see that your son is doing OK. Hope that all goes well when he sees the specialist.

Linda ................ your grandson sounds as though he is doing well, apart from the gastric reflux. If he is otherwise healthy, don't worry about his weight.

The doctors and nurses here are beginning to change their minds about what weight babies should be ......................... someone finally did a study and realised that very tiny women (for example, Chinese or Japanese) really should not be told that their babies are underweight when all the data was based on Caucasian women! There is no "one size fits all" any more!

An untold number of Asian women have been put under unnecessary strain for years, believing they have been underfeeding their babies.

Look more at grandson's Mum ................ is she lighter or heavier than "average"?

We are going away next week for 4 or 5 days ............... not to the cabin! ....... so you won't see me around until after next weekend.

Take care everyone

Hello girls,
I don't know what happened a little earlier, but I got onto the site, and answered a p.m I had received, then tried to get onto here, and lo and behold, it locked me out, and no matter how much I tried it wouldn't let me in.
It kept asking me for my e.mail address, then my password, but would not agree with what I added. But hey ho, I fooled it, and here I am. lol

Puss, I don't have the problem of getting drunk at darts, coz I no longer drink.
But, we do come up against quite a few teams that get really rat *rsed before they can throw a dart.
The trouble is, the drunker they get, the louder they become, and it can be a bit off putting.
There is one team that dance round the oche when we are playing them, and sing at the top off their voices..naughty or what.
During the summer season, we play cards ,and shove halfpenny as well as darts. I am useless at the last two, but love to watch it.

Ooh Sallie, it would be great if you could make the Hereford meet, you could also pop in and see Aluns cousins again.
It would be great to make new friends. Thats why I like to go to the Victoria meets.
But then, you are a quiet little thing, and I am a gooby moo, and nosey to boot. lol

Linda. Sebastion is doing well, considering the set backs he had initially, with the jaundice etc.
Reflux is awful for little ones though, as you know Lilly suffered with it badly from birth, and still does. It's either coming up that way, or flowing through the back door, and she is now 15 months old.
At least the hospital are keeping a close eye on him, and will sort him out eventually. Give him a big ((((HUG)))) from me.
You may be lucky to get out in your garden tomorrow, as the forecast seems to be good for then.
I shall have to start getting some bedding plants in soon, but am a bit loathe to do it to soon, with us going away next month. You never know we may get a heat wave whilst we are away. ( now thats a joke isn't it )
I have been unable to get onto the friendlies thread lately Linda, please send them all my best wishes.

Well I must go now girls, I hope to speak to you tomorrow, providing the site lets me on again.
Take care, love and hugs to you all. Mo xxx

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 29 Apr 2012 16:37

Hi Sallie, Mo , puss and everyone else
We are all OK here thanks.
Sallie our grandson is growing fast, but not as fast as the clinic want him to? He now weighs in at 9lb 6oz +. He has reflux problems but feeds well. Now on 2 different medicines and has to have a scan to make sure that it is only reflux and nothing more complex. Partly because he was born early.

The sun is actually shining but give it a short time a I guess we will have heavy showers again. Bring on May and hopefully the rhyme will be right.

April showers bring May flowers !! LOL

I haven't been able to get into the garden too much as it is too wet and I can't get out to do some much needed pruning. I have my beautiful Dicentra shrub spoiled by the wind and the rain, hopefully it will survive but looking very battered.

Tomatoes are taking over the dining room as they are too delicate to survive in the unheated greenhouse overnight, the temperature difference is too great.

I have been doing lots of knitting and crochet. Finishing some cardigans, needing buttons and made some tiny hats for the special care unit that looked after our grandson when he was born.

My birthday gift for a special birthday 2 weeks ago was a photo shoot and we had all the family over, justwaiting to see the end result and make some choices regarding a big picture and one of the new family too that we had done nearly 2 months ago.Need to be bigger than our daughter initially thought.

Hope evryone is OK. Mo best wishes for your son, Sallie I hope you are well, Puss keep up your cheerfulness, I hope Caz is in less pain and coping, Dutch hope you are OK too and anyone else that I have forgotten their names. I know Ann is away at present.

Regards Linda xxx

Hi girls,

What a horrible day it is here in S E Derbyshire, it's very windy, wet and cold.......I'm just glad that we haven't got to go anywhere today.
I haven't seen the weather forecast for the rest of Britain, but I hope it is better for some of you.

Mo, I'm pleased to hear that your son is alright at the moment, I'm sure you will feel a lot less worried once he's seen the Specialist though and you all know exactly what is what. I would have thought that the Specialist would have seen him by now though. Please give him my best wishes and that all will go well for him.
No matter how old our children are, we never stop worrying about them......all part of being parents, I know.

Hope you and Roly enjoyed your Sunday lunchtime darts match. As you say, it's nice to meet up with friends that have the same interests as yourselves, even if it's only for a couple of hours.

Puss, no we haven't been anywhere or done anything special over the weekend.......called in to see our daughter and son-in-law yesterday afternoon, they live about 5 miles away from us. As I said earlier, the weather has been awful, it's just nice to be able to stay at home.

I see Jude is arranging a Hereford meet, not sure if I can make it with it being a Monday. I'd like to go to it, but will have to wait and see if Alun can book the day off work. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Alun and I are both from S E Wales so went to Hereford fairly often from there. We went to Hereford about 18months ago to meet some third cousins of Alun's, had a lovely day there with them. One of his cousin's took us on a tour of the Hereford shops pointing out to us all the shops that their ancestors owned many years ago and some of the houses where they lived. It was very interesting!

Caz, Sylvia, Huia, Marie, Joyce, Linda and Jude if you are looking in, I hope that you are all okay.

Jean if you are looking in too, thank you for your notelet card, I'll send you an email in the next couple of days.

I'll speak to you all later on.

i worry about my youngest, she and a few others in college have been suffering from anxiety, guess a lot of it is exams and things, thankfully sjhe does confide in me.

hope you have a great time tomorrow, when we were running the pup we would be playing darts and various games, such fun

me and my friend got banned from drinking vodka on match night as we were a bit norty lol xx :-D

Aaah Puss, bless the young lad you gave the bracelet to. It sounds like he was dead pleased with his gift from you. Things like this make us glow with joy doesn't it. Something so small can mean so much to others.
I hope you have warmed up a bit now love, it has been soo cold hasn't it.

Sallie love, my son seems o.k at the moment. But I will be happier after he sees the specialist on the 8th of May.
And as for the wardrobe business, well I have now got rid of ours. The old MFI ones were not very strong, and couldn't take the weight (of my clothes) lol

Well so much for my bragging about our glorious weather yesterday. Todays been flamin awful, pouring with rain, gale force winds, and oh so cold.

Tomorrow we are going to meet our friends for our usual sunday lunchtime, darts match. It's lovely meeting up with everyone, for just a couple of hour relaxation.

See you all tomorrow evening, take care my friends. Love and hugs Mo xxx

Hello again girls,

Just popping in to wish you all a goodnight, hope you all get a good nights sleep.

Ann, oh dear I was hoping that you hadn't taken some of our British weather with you to Tenerife.lol!! I hope that the rain won't last too long so that both you and T can enjoy some sunshine.

Mo, yes I know you keep telling me not to jump off the top of the wardrobes, but you know what I'm like for not listening to you ......I'll have to stop doing it though as it's very painful when I pull a muscle.lolol!!

How are things going for your son? I hope he's a bit better now and that he's been to see the Consultant at the hospital by now.

Caz, I'm so pleased to hear that your CT scan was perfect, that is good news. I also hope that your next one you have will be as good.
I know some medication can cause people to forget some things, so let's hope that's all it is. Will be thinking about you.

Puss, hope you do well on the stall tomorrow, selling the bracelets you've made. Good luck.

Sylvia, hope you and your family are all okay.

Marie, if you are looking in, I also hope you and your family are alright too.

Well goodnight girls, speak to you all tomorrow.
