Hi Caz, have the hospital sent you an appointment for your scan yet?
If not, I hope that it won't be too long before you get one. It's been quite a nice day here today too.....Alun and I went to Derby this morning, I had my hair done while we were there, so feel a bit better now that my hair has been washed, cut and blown dry. I also bought my self a few new clothes and Alun bought himself some new jeans.

Hope everything is alright with Joyce and that all will go well for her scan on Tuesday.

Well Mo and her family have had a good start to their holiday with the weather, let's hope that it will continue all week for them.

Hope all our other friends on here are OK.

I'm going to have a cuppa now, so will speak to you again soon.

Take care all.

Love, Sallie.xxx

hi girls, Sally I haven't had my scan yet, the doc made me a new appointment for the 17th, with all the swapping and changing I don't know where I am half the time.
I have a terrible cough at the moment, my dentist had one when I went on Monday and I must have got it off him, I was speaking to Joyce this morning and had to cut it short as I felt my voice going.
It's like a summers day here just now, the room is filled with sunlight and I've had to pull the blinds down.
Going for a cuppa now.

Love Caz xx

Hi Girls,

I'm a bit late looking in tonight, Alun's sister and brother-in-law called in today on their way home from S Wales. It was lovely seeing them both, but it was sad to see how much brother-in-law has deterioated since we last seen him, which was in the last week of March.

Mo, hope you, Roly and family have a lovely holiday and that at least you'll get some dry weather.

I thought that Lilly was going to have a scan yesterday, surely that should have been the first thing they should have done. Well I hope that the doctors at the hospital will get their act together very soon are able and sort out whatever the problem is for Lilly.

Caz, lovely to see you, I hope that there is something you can take for jumpy or fidgety legs. Not sure exactly what it is, but I have heard other people say that they have them.
I spoke to Joyce last night, let's hope all goes well with her kidney scan on Tuesday.

Jude, gald to hear that your sister has her new central heating in now......gas central heating is a lot better than those night storage
heaters. Richard and Christie have them in their flat, they are not very good at all. They are hoping to have some new electric wall heaters put in before next winter.

Sylvia, great to hear that the Cancer Agency doesn't want to see you anymore and hope that there will be no problem with your blood test results next week.

Hope your OH will have no more problems with the pre-cancerous spots.

Puss, how are you doing? Are you working on your charity stall again tomorrow? Hope you do well and make a good bit of money for the charity .

Mo, hope you all have a good and safe journey tomorrow.

Well ladies, I'll say goodnight now. Speak to you all tomorrow.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo in Kent Report 11 May 2012 19:50

Hello girls,
Sorry not to have posted yesterday, but with one thing or another the day flew by.
Lilly saw the paediatrician yesterday, and after nearly having a stand up argument with him, they have now done blood tests, to see if she has any allergies.
But he thinks she has the baby version of irritable bowel. How he can come to this conclusion without any tests I just don't know.
Baby has to go back and get the results at the end of June. In the meantime,he has given her an anti spasmonal medication, to have before her food, to stop her bowel from rejecting food.

Sylvia, I am sorry to hear of your OH's skin problem. The big C is a real bu**er isn't it, but these days if it's caught soon enough, it can be kept in control, thank the lord.
So you have got the Vampires after your bloods again have you. I know it's a flamin nuisance, but forwarned is forearmed.

Caz, I suffer a lot from fidgety legs, and oh my god, it drives me crazy at times.
I dare say that yours is made worse because of your other health problems love.
Give Joyce my love when you speak to her.
Oh I nearly forgot to tell you....I txted Jean the other day, I would have loved to have seen her face when she received it. She is fine by the way, and sends her love to everyone.

Hi there Jude, good to see you. Is the Hereford meet this weekend? I hope you all enjoy yourselves.
You can't beat gas central heating can you, it's instantaneous if it should turn chilly you can soon warm up.
We had storage heaters years ago. They heated up on the cheap over night tariff, but come the evening the whole house was cold, and the children hated going up to bed in the cold, so we changed it.

Well girls, I will say cheerio as I am orft on my holiday tomorrow, so I will see you when I get back.

Sallie, I am passing the thread over into your care honey, as I know how good you are with everyone. I hope you don't mind.
Hope you and Alun are both well. Is Alun of to his model railway club this weekend?

Take care one and all. Love and best wishes Mo xxx

Hello Puss, Sylvia and everyone else. I had to have a tooth out on Monday as it was loose after banging it when I fell, it's a bit sore even now. I've been waiting for the doc to ring about my jumpy legs, he's had all day and just rang a few minutes ago, typical. Does anyone else have jumpy legs, it's awful especially when it goes on all day and night as it's doing now.
I will be talking to Joyce tomorrow, it seems ages since I spoke to her but it was only Wednesday. It's been very cold here today kept expecting frost on the ground. No Mo tonight, hope she is ok as is everyone else on here.

Short and sweet.

Hi all
xx

been busy doing some of OH's family tree

OH had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday ............. a dermatologist. He has some pre-cancerous "thingies" which keep appearing on his face, at both temples and now on the end of his nose ( :-) ). The ones at his temples are exactly where the sun catches him when he is driving a car (left side over here, right side in the UK).

So check your temples!!

This is his 3rd or 4th visit ........ the doc "zaps" the spots with liquid nitrogen, but others appear.

Today (ie Thursday), I had my 6 monthly check up and clean at the dentist's ....... need no further treatment.

Then I went to the doc's to have my first 6 monthly check-up after being told the Cancer Agency didn't want to see me any more. I just have to have these 6 monthly check-ups at my own doctor. All is fine ..................... but he realised that I hadn't had any blood work done for him in the last 9 months.

Soooooooooooooo ....... he gave me a requisition to go to the clinic to have vials of blood drawn, including that horrible "fast for 10 hours" one.

I'll try to get the tests done next week.

Otherwise, we're fine ................. and the weather is now gorgeous here! There was a bit of a chilly wind today that kept the temperature down to about 13 or 14C. But it is supposed to get to around 20C over the weekend :-D

Take care

Caz, also wondering how the scan went for you yesterday too. I hope it all went well and there isn't anything to worry about.

Linda, I should have guessed that the blankets were sold and the money would come towards the extra things for the unit. Sorry to be so dim.lol!!!

Hi Sallie
I think the blankets are sold for extra things in the unit so hopefully they are all being used to wrap the tinies when they take them out of the incubators. When they are in the cots they only have nappies on, as they have so many tubes and wires. Also the cots are heat controlled to 38C and seem very hot to us but it's to replace being in the womb, as most are born too soon.

Hello ladies,

Caz, I'm sure that Joyce said it was today the 8th May she was going to the hospital.....that date stuck in my mind because of Mo telling us that Jason was also going to see the spaecialist on the same date, 8th May. I haven't heard anything from her so hope all went alright for her today.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow morning, hope they find that there is nothing for you to worry about. Also hope goes well at the dentist for you.
Hope your leg and ankle will feel a bit better tomorrow so that it won't be so painful to move about. I will be thinking about you and hoping that all will go well.

Mo, at least all the scans, blood tests and the other tests he had are now out of the way so that the Consultant can have a good look at them. Let's hope that it won't be too long before he hears about an appointment. As you say, at 34 he certainly shouldn't still be suffering pain and shortness of breath. The worry and stress over Lilly doesn't help him either, bless him. I hope all will go well with her scan at the hospital on Thursday, I will be thinking about you all.

Linda, good to hear that the scan went well for Sebastian today and that there is nothing to worry about, I'm sure you all feel relieved and happy.
I wonder where the blankets you crocheted for the baby unit, were.
They were probably all in the laundry. It's nice to know that the little hats you made were appreciated.

Puss, you did really well at the weekend with the sale of your bracelets. Well done.

Huia, hope you have sorted out the problem with your new scanner/printer by now.

Jean, if you are looking in, hope you, Roly and Debra are all well.

Mo as you say, it's a long while since we heard from Marie. Hope all is well with her and the family.

Joyce, if you are looking in, hope all went well for you today.

Thinking of Sylvia and Ann, and hope that you are both OK.

Speak to you all again tomorrow. Take care.

Hello everyone
Mo I am glad your son has had his tests, even if he has to wait for the results. Sorry that baby Lilly has to have tests too, sounds like she has similar problems to my grandson. His ultra sound was good today, no needles and he was soooo good. The man doing the scan could find no problem, relief, and says because he was born early sometimes the muscle is immature and should in time tighten up. He is still on medicationBut he is gaining weight just slower than the clinic would like, he is the right % if he had been born at the due time.
I took the little hats in to the Special Care unit, they were very pleased, no sign of the blankets I had crocheted.

Mo in Kent Report 8 May 2012 20:08

Hello everyone,
Well my son spent hours at the hospital today. They took bloods, he had to do the walking excercise on the treadmill, scans, etc, and guess what, he is none the wiser yet.
The doctor said that if he was older, he would say he is suffering with Angina, following the heart attack, but now he has to wait for them to check his results, and send him another appointment to see the specialist.
The doctor said that the pericarditus has cleared itself, but he is still in pain, and suffers with a shortness of breath. At 34 he should not be like this should he.

Huia, thank goodness you have the nursing home to care for Phil. It would be to much for you to have to cope with him now love.
He needs the 24/7 care they are giving him, and it would be such hard work for you. Plus you would lose the independance you now have. You enjoy working in the shop, and doing your bits of DIY don't you. As much as we may love our partners, we still need to be able to take ourselves away from the home situation at times.
Take care of that sore throat love, perhaps you could could gargle with some warm salt water to ease it.

Linda, I hope Sebastions scan went well, and they were able to decide what the real problem is for him.
It's lovely being retired, but with it seems to come other responsabilites. Ours is with baby Lilly. We are off to the hospital with her again on Thursday.
Last night she had very bad projectile vomiting again, so bad that my son rushed her to the hospital.
They got home at 2.30 this morning, and the paediatrician has bought her intolerence testing forward from the end of june to this thursday. As S cant stand needles, good old nan and grandad have been asked to help yet again.
The paediatrician said baby cant wait till the end of June, for testing to start.

My goodness Puss, well done on making all that money at the weekends. I bet the charity are grateful for any donations they receive, and you certainly are helping them babe.

Sallie, have you heard from Joyce, about how she got on today I mean. I wonder if Joyce contacted Caz about it as well. Still I am hoping that no news is good news at the end of the day.
I hope you are feeling o.k today our Sallie, keep that chin up my love, and smile for aunty Mo xxx

Sending (((((((((((((BIG HUGS FOR JEAN))))))))))))) coz I know she does look in occasionally, just to make sure we are behaving ourselves. lol ;-)

Wheres Sylvia got to I wonder....Hi Sylv's if you do look in.
And Marie must be very busy as we have not heard from her in a while.

Bye for now girls, take care my friends, love Mo xxx

Sally I thought Joyces appointment was Wed. She is ringing me at teatime Wed to tell me how she went on.
I have my ct scan tomorrow morning to see if they can find out why I forget everything. Not feeling too good today as I'm in a lot of pain with my leg and ankle so will keep this short, I hope it's not going to be paralysed again, it's feeling that way, I'm so fed up.
Julia it is nice to see you on here, you will have to visit us more often.
Mo I am always on at this time, only very rarely do I come on earlier.
I am having a tooth out tomorrow, when I fell and broke my ankle I banged my back tooth as well, it is loose and wobbly now so has to come out, not looking forward to it.
OH has made a cuppa so will go and get it.

Huia

Huia Report 8 May 2012 02:58

Mo, the meeting with the nurse at Phil's home went ok. They told me what they had been doing and what medication he is on. As he often rolls out of bed they lower it at night and have a mattress on the floor beside it. They said he has trouble breathing at night so they give him some oxygen, at least i think that is what they said. They say he doesnt talk much, usually just one word in response to a question or comment. Sometimes he resists help.

I an just thankful that I no longer have to care for him. I saw him resisting when the nurse tried to put the thing in his ear the other day to take his temp. I had to hold his hands tight. They do apparently take him for a supported walk each day. I had been wondering if he ever did any walking, I only see him sitting in his chair when I visit.

I might not visit Phil this week. Last night after dinner I developed an extremely sore throat, and it bothered me all night and when I looked in the mirror this morning it looked swollen and red. It doesnt feel quite so bad now, but I will have to see how it goes today and tomorrow.

Huia.
