Oh for goodness sake Huia, it never rains but it pours down on you mate doesn't it.
I wonder how much it will cost to get the window sorted, it definately wont be as well made as the original, that Phil made. That has lasted well hasn't it.
It's a good job you saved the ice cream tubs, they came in very handy for you didn't they.

Ann, have you tried Debenhams, for your wedding outfit. We had a look in their range of special occasion wear, but they were far to dressy for me unfortunately, but the brides mother is getting her outfit there.

Lorraine,my son seems to be o.k at the moment ( fingers crossed ). It's the baby, and my eldest son I am more worried about now.
The district nurse came out to change my sons dressing today, and she phoned his doctor and demanded he come out to look at the infected wound, as she feels his infection is not clearing up properly.
She changed the wick in his naval, and said that there is still a lot of infection left in it, as it oozed puss when she took the old wick out.
Little one goes into hospital to have her Barium Meal done in the morning, perhaps then we may know what is causing this projectile vomiting.

What a flamin year this has been so far, one son has the heart attack, baby starts her vomiting, my daughter breaks her toe, and my other son has a hernia operation and gets a bad infection.
Please lord dont let anything alse go wrong.

Teenagers are very hard work arn't they. Why wasn't your young ladies brace taken off before ,was she with her mother for the past year? Just shows how much she cared doesn't it. Well done you, chasing things up for her.
It must have been hurting her having the brace grow into her pallete, bless her.

We have been into Canterbury today. It's a pity the weather wasn't kinder to us, it's been blowing a gale, and raining in the wind, but a nice day out anyway.
Well girls I will say cheerio for now, take care. Love Mo xxx

Huia I hope the rain stops for long enough for everything to dry out.

Thank you for trying Mo, I think they do have different things in the shops to on line, also a lot of the summer lines will be at an end as the autumn stuff is due in.

Caz, do you know what is still causing the nausea? Can you get anything to stop it from the chemist?

Sylvia, enjoy your time with littley and the family.

Huia Report 15 Jul 2012 21:35

Hi there girls. Some good news and some bad news from me.

The good news is that the capsules the doc prescribed seem to have fixed my scratchy throat cough :-D

The bad news is that last night I found a lot of water on my bench and internal windowsill in the kitchen. I eventually discovered it was coming from the top of the window. I think the rain and wind are from a different quarter from usual, or the gooby sealing the edges has given up. Well, it is 39 yrs old. I will have to phone a builder some time to come and look at things. He will probably have to dismantle the window to see how much water is inside the wall, and dry it out, but no use doing it while it is raining like this. At present I have some icecream containers on the windowsill to catch the drips. I did use rags last night but they are not enough to stop the water spilling onto the bench and I am running out of rags, so I hope the icecream containers will do the trick. At least they can be emptied out when they get full.

Looks as if the rain has stopped briefly, I might go outside to see what I can see.

Huia.

Oooh I forgot to say, Ann, I looked on line, to try and find the dress I bought from M+S, and it was not there.
They must have different stock in the shops to the online products.
If I had found it, I would have let you know. Sorry about that, I was trying to be helpful. Love Mo xxx

Hi Sylvia,
Oooh how lovely to have the clan around you. I bet little man was really exhausted, but with so much going on around him , his curiosity got the better of him, and he didn't want to sleep for fear of missing something. lol
But he slept well considering it must have been strange for him to be in a different room from home.
How long are they staying with you this time?
I bet you look very elegant whatever you wear my love. My favourite wear is trousers and maxi dresses or skirts, they cover up a multitude of sins.

Caz, I am sorry you are still not feeling to good love. I was hoping you had started to feel better by now. It seems an age since you first became unwell, with your kidney infection, and then this dratted nausea started.
Can you contact your doctor again, and let him know you are still poorly my friend, perhaps he can give you something else to ease it.

My eldest son was rushed into hospital last night. He had an operation on his hernia last week, and it had become badly infected. The emergency doctor took one look at it, and said hospital straight away.
Today they opened the wound, and cleaned it out, without giving him anything to cotrol the pain.
They have left a wick in, to help clear any more infection. ( Dont ask me what the wick does girls ) and sent him home with some anti-biotics.

It looks like we are to become great grandparents again, not sure when though, just waiting for confirmation.

I hope you have all had a good weekend. Take care my friends, love Mo xxx

Hi Mo
xx

and everyone
xx

another sunny day here :-D

well, the little family arrived

and we've survived the first night!!

We met them at about 11:45 pm from the plane ........... then had to wait around for their bags to appear. So it was almost 12:30 am our time when we got home ....... and that meant that it was 4:30 am their time

Little Tiddley had woken at 5 am Friday morning, gone to Daycare, had a 90 minute nap in the afternoon .................... and had all of 30 minutes sleep on the plane!

One very overtired little boy ....... but surprisingly good and cheerful.

We all got to bed about 1:15 am our time ................ and we started hearing noises from him at about 7:15 am. Not bad!

OH has taken them to our local Ikea ........... which was re-built and opened late April as about twice or 3 times the size of the old one

I decided to stay home ............ I didn't like the old Ikea on a Saturday, and the new one is still a novelty!

I only wear long skirts, especially in summer. I don't think I have even one skirt (winter or summer) that is shorter than about mid-calf.

I used to be 5' 8½", but am now at least 1" shorter .................. and I take a size 20-22 in UK terms.

However .... I am losing weight with this diabetic diet I am on.

My big problem is the lack of boobs :-D :-D :-D

It is soooooooooooooooooooo much more comfortable without a bra, and the falsies get so hot when it is warm outside, that I now rarely wear them. But I do have to find camouflage (scarves, vests, etc) to hid the sagging material of tops!

take care everyone

Please don't mention food, I'm starving as well but the thought of eating something makes me even more nauseous. I used to be 5' 7"and took a size 14 in clothes, need a bigger size now.
Jean the parcel still hasn't come but Joyce says she waited three weeks for one of hers, I will ring the parcel force on Monday, this is ridiculous.
Well really all I wanted to say was hello girls, I will come back whwen feeling better.

Ann, I am 5ft 4 approx, I used to be 5ft 6, but am shrinking by the day.
I buy a 16 in clothes for comfort, M+S local to us had loads of different styles when I bought my dress.

It has been absolutely pelting it down with rain all day. We got soaked this morning when we went shopping, so we have spent the afternoon in the house in the dry.

Must go and dish our dinner up now, I am starving.
Take care everyone, love Mo xxx

mo how tall are you. I haven't looked at maxi dresses as I thought I was too short for them at 5 foot 2 and a bit. today we have looked at every shop in Milton Keynes and still nothing, even John Lewis had all 6, 8, 10s and 12 s with hardly any larger sizes.

just been to the Harvester with the family for a meal, very nice too, especially as it was son's treat.

It's no good Jean, I will HAVE to take these glasses back to Spec Savers, and to think I have only had them a short while.
Perhaps I should have bought two magnifying glasses instead, and tied em together with a piece of string, I might be able to see better that way.
You and Ann, are both wrong, it wasn't Watch with Mother or the Teletubbies, you saucy minxes, it was Bill and Ben the flower pot men, and I auditioned for the Little Weeeeed. How dares the pair of you let me down like that, I am deeply deeply hurt lol ;-)
Lilly goes in for her, barium swallow on tuesday. It used to be called a barium meal. Goodness knows how they are going to get the little one to swallow the stuff, unless they sedate her, and put it through a tube.
My son seems to be o.k, thank goodness. To be honest, I am frightened to ask, in case something goes dreadfully awry.

Ann, I cheated for my sons wedding next month, I bought a lovely maxi dress from M+S. I do need to shorten it though. Why do the manufacturors think that all women are ten foot tall.
I got myself a lovely fascinator the same colour, from the charity shop, and my shoes and bag I bought on line.
But I do know what you mean about the shops looking like jumble sales. I find the worst ones are shops like Pr*ma*k, where people just chuck things back on racks, or onto the floor, and don't bother to replace them properly.
It must be a nightmare for staff at the end of the day.

Oh Huia, you are brave allowing your doctor to experiment on you, and I had to laugh at your description of coughing up toenails.
It has taken quite some time for your results to come through hasn't it. Still you know what they say, no news is good news.
I bet you noticed a big difference in your G.Grandson when you saw him. They grow so quickly dont they.
I bet the lady from the Opera club will be over the moon with all your song sheets.
There will be songs that have not seen the light of day, for donkeys years.
You never know, they might record some, and send you a copy.

There has not been any news from Sallie, but I know she has been to see the therapist this week some time. Lets hope and pray she is getting along o.k.
If there is no news from her over the weekend, I will send an E.Mail out to Alun, just to make sure she's well.

Sending love to Sylvia, Marie, Caz,Linda, Joyce, Liz,Jude,Lorraine and all our friends.
Have a nice weekend everyone. Love Mo xxx
