Welcome to our little mad house Matchless, such a friendly bunch of people on here. Please come back and chat with us sometimes.
The only Forest I remember, is Sherwood Forest of many moons ago, when we had Maid Marion, Robin Hood, and many crazy characters waaayyy back then, but great fun was had by all.

Ann, I hope you got a better nights sleep last night at the Golf Club, and that T didn't decide to go for a moonlight game.
I also hope the wedding goes well tomorrow.

Sylvia my little love, I thought you had vanished into thin air.
I bet you are having good nights sleep now that your O.H has gone back upstairs....
no snoring to have to listen to lol Mind you, we do miss the noises they make dont we, and wouldn't be without them.
I thought you said it was a little do, blimey mate, it sounds like it was a big thing, with there being 300 to 400 people there.
What a shame you didn't feel like seeing the Matisse collection, that would have been great to see.
How is your little man doing now? When are you up for your next visit to see him?

Well our Jean is off on her hols tomorrow, lets hope they have a great time, and that Jean doesn't buy the craft shop up, or poor J will have to tie her to the roof rack on the trip back home, as the car will be full to brimming with all her bits and pieces.

We are having Lilly tomorrow morning. She is normally such a delight to have, lets hope tomorrow is the same as normal. At least we have only got her till one p.m, then we can come home and collapse in the chairs and recover. ;-)

Well my friends, I will say cheerio for now, love to all, Mo

Sure is lovely, we had a beautiful morning the other day, all the cobwebs were silvered with dew, funny how all those little spiders affected the landscape!
Treasures of The New Forest is still alive and thriving
Regards to all, especially my cheeky, lovely mates from those mad old' days/nights! <3

Hi Mo
xxx

and everyone
xxx

Mo ........ I hope things are getting a little better for you xxxx

we're still having the lovely sunny weather ......... although the temperatures are getting a little high for me during the day. It was around 25C yesterday.

The nights are nice and cool, good for sleeping.

......... and OH has left the basement to sleep upstairs once again

We went to a little "do" last night ................. a company we do business with holds an annual wine and goodies evening every year. They rent a place, take it over for the evening, and arrange for their guests to get free tours. Before now, the event has been held in the Museum of Anthropology at the university, in a fish (mainly salmon) cannery that is now a National Historic Site, etc etc

Last night was at the city's Art Gallery. The big touring exhibit at the moment is Matisse ........ and you could take a guided tour. We didn't do that ...... I was a little too painful, and OH wouldn't do it without me. I found a chair (not easy!!), and we imbibed and ate, and talked to people.

OH spotted one of the people there, I think a "newbie" to the events .................. such a surprise.

Not only had we known his father quite well, but S had written the very first computer programme for the Botanical Garden to help us keep track of all the plants. He was a 2nd year university student in computing sciences when he did that ....... back in 1970/71

We chatted for quite a long time, as you may imagine.

I was a little surprised that the Art Gallery did not have its Gift Shop open .............. most of the places do open their shops, and I'm sure make more than a small amount of money on the evening!! There are usually 300 or 400 people attending ......... at a guess.

Take care everyone

Morning everyone
Well our new baby grandson was born last night at 11:30pm weighing 7lb 9oz. He is named Joshua George. Our son sounded elated when he called, but I think this morning reality will hit and I'm guessing they will both be exhausted as it was a very long labour.

Sorry I haven't added very often but we have been all over the place helping with our first grandson and now the second grandson is here too.
My cousin is coming from Canada for 4 weeks in a weeks time, so more busyness eh!!

I will try to add sometimes

Thinking of all my friends often and hope Caz is Ok

Oh my goodness Ann, fancy making that typo mistake, making it look like Huia was in prison lol. What we gonna do with you ;-)
I hope the weather holds for the wedding, and that you all have a wonderful day.

Huia, I would like to sponsor you for the hair shaving, and will get a cheque in the post in the next few days. Who do I make it payable to love, I will wait to hear from you before sending it off I think.
Will you get a few days break before the new shop opens?

Hi Sallie, good to see you posting love. Hows you and the family getting on?
I hope you have reconsidered about leaving us. I meant what I said,I would miss you terribly if you went. xxx

Jean my lickle love, many many thanks for sending the card to Sallie on our behalf.
Have you done your packing yet? Dont forget your wellies and brolly will you.
I feel sure you will both enjoy yourselves regardless of the weather. It's the break away from the normal routine that makes it isn't it honey.

Well, the humungous T.V is now in place. This morning Roly sat for ages, staring at the set, pondering on how to begin the task.
Clever me had an idea, yes our son had a day off today, and after a quick phone call, he was at our door, before Roly could get back from B+@'s.
J has got a widescreen T.V at home and knew how to mount it on the wall, and hey presto, it was done in a jiffy, leaving poor Roly bewildered as to how he had done it so quickly. lol
Then of course the room had to be re-arranged.....oooh next time he has big ideas like this, I think I will tie him to a chair so he cant get out of the door. ;-) I am exhausted after being mrs shifter all afternoon.

I will say cheerio for now girls, take care. Love Mo xxx

Sorry Huia as you guessed that should read person. Adding on the IPad it is via a touch pad keyboard, easy to make typos.

Huia Report 18 Sep 2012 22:34

Ann, are you saying the shop is a prison? I have to laugh at some of the typos I see on GR.

Mo, no date has been set yet for the head shave (I gather it will just be a very short cut though). The marketing manager has been away on holiday and comes back today, so then I hope I can get stuck in to get sponsors. The hospice is setting up a website for fundraisers and I will have my own page. I also want them to make some signs for me to put up in at least 2 shops that have offered. It looks as if my bald head will not happen until late October or early November, but at least it will be warmer then. The Papakura shop is closing this Friday and we are having a party there on Saturday and moving all the stock and fittings the following week.

I am going to drop off some more plastic bags in the shop today and probably visit Phil after lunch in town, then see if any more help is needed in the shop. With the half price sale we have been quite busy at times.

Thanks Sallie's, yes having a nice break.

Huia, such a busy prison, don't let them take advantage of your good nature in the shop. :-) :-)

Hi girls, just a quick post to say thank you to you all for the lovely card and for thinking about me.

Jean as usual, another really lovely card, thank you.

I thought you said that you and J were going to Llandudno this coming Saturday. Enjoy your holiday and let's hope the weather will be good for you. Take care.

Mo, hope that the problem will get better for you both pretty soon. I really feel sad for both you and Roly and just wish that your daughter will see sense before too long.

Ann, hope that you and T are having a good holiday in Dorset and are having some good weather.

Huia, you really are a very busy lady these days. It's a shame about there not being many club members at the Botanic Gardens. I'm sure you were looking forward to meeting some new people so that you could have a chat about your same interests.

Mo in Kent Report 18 Sep 2012 19:38

Hi everyone,
Huia, what date are you doing your head shaving next month? If I remember things correctly, you are having it done when the new shop opens.
Sorry we all deserted you for a few days, but it seems like we all have loads of things happening at the moment, either good or bad.
I reckon I could supply your shop with plenty of carrier bags lol.
Even though I do have my regular bags for shopping, the environmentally safe ones I might add. But whenever I go into the freezer shop, they pack my bags so quickly into their own bags, and I end up with loads that I take into our local charity shop.

Ann,how come you are on your IPad, and not your laptop or computer? I bet I have missed something and you and T are on holiday, it proves my head is up in the air doesn't it.

Oh boy, tomorrow is going to be interesting. Roly decided he wanted a new T.V today, and bought one that is wall mounted. Huh I think I shall take myself out for the day, rather than watch him trying to get it up on the wall.
I have got this awful habit of saying something is not straight when I think it's not. And before now, he has got the spirit level out, just to see if I am right or wrong, so rather than sit here criticising, it would be best if I am not here, except for when he needs help lifting it up, I cant have him doing himself an injury, or that would be even harder work. lol
Why he wants such a big T.V I shall never know. I know he's deaf, but I am wondering if his sight is bothering him as well, poor little soul ,bless his cotton socks.
I shall let you know tomorrow, if the air has turned blue, or any other colour. ;-)

I dont know what the weather has been like in other parts of the UK, but it's been lovely here in Kent today.
I got all the washing dried, and it's sitting there waiting for me to iron it, so I had better get me finger out and get it started.
Take care one and all.
