Oi saucy, I was at the head of the queue before you announced your great news.
Being your biggest fan, I had to be there to keep the rabble in check. And, I only charged them a fiver for your autograph, not the tenner you suggested. Ooops I presume you meant ten pounds, and not ahem...the ones that ladies wear, (or so I'm told )
Well done my love, you are such a clever kid, and I am proud to know you.
I expect to see you in front of Alan Sugar soon, with another great invention. MWAH
Love and hugs Mo xxx

Sallie Report 26 Nov 2012 00:48

I'm very late tonight, I've had a busy couple of days trying to get myself organised making both special Christmas cards and birthday cards.

I came on here late last night, almost finished posting and I lost the whole lot......so maddening as I had almost finished writng it and it was too late to start again.

Alun is on holiday this week, so we are going up to see his sister and family one day and we are also going down to see Richard later in the week.

Jean, Alun said one way to get rid of slugs, is to put some beer into a small tin or container, they will go for the smell of it and will go up the side of the tin and fall into the beer and drown. They are horrible and slimy ....oh I hate the things.
Richard had a problem with them in the spare bedroom earlier in the year he just used salt to get rid of them. He has a ground floor flat, there are shrub and flower borders outside the bedroom windows and he had trouble after all the months of rain we all had.

I'll have to have a look at the craft programmes to see what I might be able to do with the GC. I really need to get some more of the bigger Spellbinders dies, but with them costing so much more than the regular sizes, I just have to buy them one or two at a time.

Mo, it hasn't been too bad here today, I was lucky enough to dry clothes out on the line today and yesterday, thank goodness. I think like most of the country we had a lot of heavy rain yesterday afternoon right through most of the night, so it was nice to see blue sky this morning and last a good few hours. We are lucky that we haven't had it so bad as some parts of the country.

Hello to all our friends on here, I hope you are all alright.

Well I'm off to bed now as it's way past my bedtime. Speak to you all tomorrow.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Jean, that boot leg licker you sent me 26 years ago, has gone. It evaporated into thin air honey, so I think you were HAD when you bought it.
The salesperson didnt by any chance go by the name of AL did he, cos it's AL gone now. Or perhaps it was Al Capone ;-) ;-) ;-)
To be honest, I thought that salt would have been the solution to the slugs. The only other solution would be to get something from Wil*o's, but most of them are for ouside use.
We bought some that was safe around animals, to use in our garden, but have never had cause to use it inside the home.
Yuk nasty slimey thing arn't they, I would rather see a snail than a slug any day.

Still another wet ,windy day today, I do hope it has been better in your neck of the woods.

No fresh news to tell you I am afraid, but keep yer chins up girls, it might be better tomorrow.
Love to you all, Mo xxx

Whoops, clanger time, I must write 100 times read carefully ;-) ;-) ;-) sorry Roly wont be joining us in our elite club , but maybe a bit of young blood will be just the" injection " we need Huia :-D :-D
well my super duper leader of the gang, I hope you colds and sneezes will not affect the well oiled running of this thread, so keep you mask on !!! we have been smitten with colds too, D has had a reacurring one, but she soldiers on , what a trooper.... so stay put hun and keep warm hot toddys are good so its ok. to open the bottle of 5 star liquer I sent you 26 years ago.. go on you know you want to... my legs are smarting where Mo has whacked them, just for asking about my christmas gift, so learnt my lesson :-( :-( :-(

To change the subject... Sallie have you had a look on the craft channels at the Grand Calibur videos, they are great, loads of new ideas which I will have a go at with my Big Shot, its not the pro one... but its o.k. J has said he would buy me the Grand one if I want it, so I am thinking about it, there is an offer onC/C at the moment, tempting......I have just one more order to finish then shall take Anns advice and put the christmas stuff away....and have a rest, hope yours is coming along on time.... take care and dont overdue it...love to Jennie <3

another subject for your perusal and hopefully advice.....we have slugs in the kitchen :-0 :-0 J got a couple of tiny ones and now I have got a couple of bigger ones, I googled "slugs in the house" and was amazed at all the replies it appears its a common occurance, but not one I want!!! they look as though they are coming in from under the plinths at the bottom of the units...I scattered salt along the edges until we get a better solution, so its a look out you pesky critters we are coming to get YOU......
so if you have any thoughts on the matter I wait with bated breath ;-) ;-) ;-)
time for my second cuppa of the day take care and check you house dont want THEM getting to you...

Good evening ladies, how are we all today, well I hope.

Well I can see my son will be in his element, having all you lovely gals spoiling him when he joins your Hernia club. I am sure he will be thrilled to know he is in such an elite club.
I bet our Jean would make him do as he's told, and not eat the foods that he knows he shouldn't, but does.

And Jean, hush now, Santa is listening, and he wont bring you any presents, if you continue being naughty, and asking for presents...tut tut, you should know better.
So if he doesn't leave my pressie at your house on christmas eve, you will know why.
My cold seems to be at it's worst first thing of a morning. When I get up, my nose is streaming, and then the sneezing takes over, yuk nasty, especially when I am trying to prepare my breakfast. Not a pretty sight believe me.

Sallie, we laugh about the SatNav situation now, but at the time we were really cheesed off, as it was getting close to the visiting ending, and we had had quite a journey to get there in the first place, let alone being lost by the darned thing.

Right, it's time for my dinner now, sweet and sour chicken, and rice.
So bye for now girls, take care. Mo xxx

Mo, so glad that you managed to get the washing done without any problems.... I'm sure I wouldn't have trusted it, but then I am a bit cowardly.lolol!! I hope you were able to get it dried on the line, I hate having to dry washing in the house, but I suppose it's now that time of year when we all have to dry it that way or tumble dry it.

My mother had a hiatus hernia for years, she was prescribed Tagamet tablets from being diagnosed with it......they certainly worked for her. Let's hope that whatever the medication he is given will work well for him too.

I had to chuckle at the tale of your Sat Nav directing you to the crematorium instead of the hospital, it was just as well that your son was a lot better.lol!!

Jean, hope you enjoyed your late tea. Also hope that you, J, D and
family are all well.

Huia, has your sister had her head shaved yet? Sorry can't remember what date you told us she was having it done.

Well, I'll say goodnight now so will speak to you tomorrow. Take care everyone.

Thanks for that Huia, heres hoping that meds will work for my boy, he's not exactly the best of patients at the best of times, so after an operation he would be a nightmare. lol

Huia

Huia Report 23 Nov 2012 20:23

On the other hand, my doc did prescribe some capsules to reduce the production of acid in the stomach, to try to stop my stupid cough, which she said was produced by the acid irritating the throat, so I suppose that is a cure for the h.h. It certainly has cured the cough to a large extent.

Huia Report 23 Nov 2012 20:20

Mo, I discovered from the camera-down-the-throat that I have a hiatus hernia. I am not being treated for it. Phil had one for many years and used to take gaviscon tabs and later titralac tabs. His mother had had one and had an op but it didnt do any good apparently.

Oooh Sallie, I turned the washing machine on today, to wash the bedding. I was like a cat on a hot tin roof.
I watched over it all the time it was on, with lots of towels at the ready, just in case, but apart from it being extremely noisy, it was fine.
Don't think I will be using it very much now, before it gets repaired, it was so boring watching that washing going round and round in the drum, not nearly as good as watching the old goggle box. LOL
I remember when we first got our sat nav, we were supposed to be visiting our son in hospital, but it directed us to the creamatorium instead. We thought to ourselves," Thats a bit premature" our son was on the mend, not on his way out.
Did I tell you that our son has had his camera down the throat done, and he has got a Hiatus Hernia. Now he has to wait to hear how he is going to be treated for it.
The day he got diagnosed, we told him do not eat any spicy food, so what does he do, he takes his wife out for a meal the following night, to a Mexican Restuarant.
Sometimes I feel like we are talking to ourselves, when offering advice, so I think we should just save our breath dont you. ;-)
Hope to hear from you all later girls. Take care, love Mo xxx

Hello girls,

Mo, I don't think I would trust having the kitchen flooded, I'd rather wait a week and make sure, but then, I can be over cautious at times, or so I've been told by the family.lolol!!

My friend's husband bought a new Sat Nav today so came round so that Alun could register and update it on the computer for him....needless to say that they haven't got a computer. They had a problem with it as all the writing on it was either, German,French etc.....any language but English...... so it is being returned to the shop tomorrow.

Yes, it was a shock for Michael's mate to come home and find that his wife had left him for someone else, I feel so sorry for both him and their son......they rent the house they live in and she even took the rent book with her. I don't know why she needed that as well as their daughter and the two dogs.

Ann, I have thought the same as you about her taking the cowards way out and that one day she might realise she has made a big mistake. Only time will tell I suppose. I can't see that their daughter would have wanted to go, although her and her mum got on ok, she is also a daddy's girl so I'm sure she must be very upset about it all. Bless her, she's a lovely girl, reserved and a bit shy.

Well, I'm going to make myself a cuppa now, Alun is out at the club tonight and won't be home until almost eleven.

Mo, hope you and Roly enjoyed your gammon, peas and chips.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

Love, Sallie.xxx
