Hello girls, come out, come out wherever you are.lol!!! Just hope that you are all okay.

Mo, I wish they would open a large M****sons store here as the nearest one is 5 miles away, quite near to where Jennie lives, but it isn't one of their bigger stores, which is a pity. We have a T***o extra, but we don't shop there unless we need something urgent.

Hope that your granddaughter and baby Zoey are both getting along alright. Have they told them when Zoey will need to start her physiotherapy.

Alun and I went to Derby this morning as we needed to get a few bits and pieces, the trouble is we always end up buying more than what we went for to start with. Of course we were there longer than what we had intended to be, so we thought we'd have our lunch there and it would save me cooking when we got home. I think I am becoming more idle as I get older.lol!!!

I bought another embossing die in one of the craft shops I usually go to, I had been looking for it for a good while, so will be busy trying it out tonight while Alun is at the model railway club.

Well I had better go and make us a snack now as it won't be long before Alun goes out.

Speak to you all later.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

What a day it's been, we decided that we would go and take a look at the new Mo**sons, that has opened not far from us.
A beautiful shop, with everything you could possibly want, on the biggest plot I have ever seen.
I know they normally have a great display, but they had exceeded themselves in this new store.
The problems arose when trying to enter, and leave the store.
The clever powers that be, had not taken into account the volumme of traffic onto the industrial estate.
They had set up temporary traffic lights, with a man changing the lights manually.
Oh what a shame it was, after such pleasure in the store. Talk about a proper muck up, putting it politely that is. lol
But, we will be going again soon, and hopefully they will have sorted out the teething problems.

Sending my best wishes to you all, love Mo xxx

Just looking in to see how you all are before I get ready to go and do the weekly shop. Always glad when that job is done, especially with all the prices going up as they are....if we didn't have to eat and keep clean think how much more money we would all have to spare.lol!!

Well I have finished my ironing at last, so can now get back to doing more interesting things....like card making.YIPPEE!!

Joyce, if you are looking in, I hope that you have had the hospital appointment come through today...the sooner it comes now the better. Also hope Rachel is feeling a bit better today.

Well girls, must go now, I'll look in again later on today.

Take care everyone.

Oh Jean it is a wonderful show and the singing is great too. We found that we enjoyed it more seeing it for the second (third and fourth) time as you know the story then. There is more in the film of course because they are limited on stage with scenery but the film is a great spectacle and the music is all there. We have the DVD and video of 10th and 25th anniversary performances, no acting in those just the wonderful singing.

Sallie Report 29 Jan 2013 21:01

Hi girls,

Ann, so glad that you and T enjoyed your afternoon out. I can't comment on Les Mis as I have never seen it, although everyone I know that has seen it on stage thought it was very good. You never know, I might get to see the film one day soon.

Mo, I managed to get half the ironing done, the rest of the time I made some cards, a get well card for Jean in Monmouth and a birthday card for one of my cousins. It looks as though I will be doing the ironing tomorrow morning before we go to do the shopping.lol!!

You made me chuckle when you said about your daughter spelling Zoey's name the way she did. Hope that the physio will soon sort out the problem for her.

Jean, looked in The Range and HobbyCraft but they don't sell waxed paper, so will have to look in Derby when we go on Thursday. According to the internet they sell it in Lakeland, so I'll look there on Thursday too.

Huia, did you meet some of the new ones when you called at the shop today? I expect you had a cuppa and a good chat to them.

Sylvia and Marie, hope things are well with you both.

Speak to all soon.

Joyce I am sorry that you are so unwell and also sorry to hear the news about your ex husband.

Mo It is an unusual way to spell it but they do seem to want to be different these days don't they?

Just back from the Les Mis film, Had a chinese buffet first then went to the 1.10 performance. Well half an hour of adverts from 1.10 which I hate because like TV they are louder than the film then two and a half hours of the film, really comfortable seats though so it didn't seem too long.. Enjoyed the film. Very good. Wasn't keen on the casting of the inn keepers and Russell Crowe is no singer but the others were very good. I thought it enhanced the stage show, the story was clearer in a way and really brought to life how the revolution would have been in a way it could never be on stage because of cast numbers. Very enjoyable anyway and we actually thought the girl who played Cosette was very believable in the part. Some of the stage ones we have not liked very much.

If you haven't seen it yet do go if you have the chance. :-)

Yes Ann, they have spelt the baby's name Zoey. When my daughter first printed the name out, she spelt it Zooey, silly girl ,we said it sounds like she was born in a Zoo.
But our daughter had made a mistake, and grandaughter soon put her mum right on the naming of her daughter.
Zoey has to have physio done on her feet and legs, as her toes are lapping over each other.
The specialist said, that it was where her feet were so far down into the pelvic canal, that the toes had to cross over each other, for baby to be comfortable in the breech position.
She is home now, and is such a tiny little dot. All the new born clothes she has,are far to big for her.

Joyce, sorry to hear your bad news love. You must think of yourself for a change, and get yourself better, you are very important to us.

Huia, the very dry spell over with you and OZ, is a real worry to everyone isn't it. And yet, there are still some stupid idiots, who think it's funny to start fires. Stay safe honey.

Sallie, take a look in the cyber hatch, my washing is in there awaiting ironing lol

Bye for now girls, see you later. Love Mo xxx

Oh Joyce sorry to hear your news, at least he isn't suffering anymore he's now at peace. I know he had been ill for a long while.

Hope you will start to feel better soon. Have you had a date for your Colonoscopy yet? Just hope that you don't have to wait too long, the sooner it's sorted out the better.
Just take care of yourself.

Also hope that Sheila will soon get better too. These viruses that are going around at the moment seem to take a long while to get rid of.

Hope everyone else is alright today. I must do my ironing now.lol!!!

I'll get back to you all later on today.

Hello ladies.

I didnt get any panning photos, I was more concerned with wandering round the camp ground checking that nobody had any open fires as there is a total ban on such things at present, due to the drought we are now experiencing.

Our hospice shop sells all sorts of things: clothes (including handbags and shoes), furniture, old tvs (but they dont sell so well), books and mags, toys, china, glassware, golf clubs, a folding zimmer frame!, videos, cds, you name it, provided they are in working order and not too tatty. Forgot to add linen, cushions. Dont forget that $1000 = about 500 pounds.

I had a holiday from the shop yesterday as it was closed for Anniversary day. Today I am going to do some shopping and will call in at the shop as I like to meet the volunteers who work on other days.

Oh Jean thank you so much for sending me some waxed paper, I'll owe you a small fortune.

Lace butterfly sounds lovely. What make die is it? I really like the Memory Box dies, some of them are very pretty.

Mo, Torvill and Dean were great, I was never too keen on watching ice skating until they came along. So many people around this area think a lot of them and of course with them coming from Nottingham.....they come from just five miles up the road from here, so are classed as a local couple.lol!!

Might see you all again later on.

Hi Girls,

Ann, pleased to know that I'm not the only one who hasn't done the planned housework today........must say it's so much nicer to do what we feel like doing.lol!!!

Yes it does look as though the area where AnnC lives had it pretty bad last night.

Thanks, I'll look in the cake making part of HobbyCraft for the waxed paper. There are a couple of Craft sites that are out of stock and expecting more in, but one not having anymore until end of February. Of course, I'm too impatient to wait until then.

Mo, it's good that you haven't got to go far to play darts tonight. I don't know about you but this time of the year I don't want to go to far, unless we have to of course.

Like Jean I'm not on FB either, but would love to see your photos of Saturday night, if it's possible.

Enjoy your visit to your granddaughter's and cuddling your new grtgranddaughter, as I'm sure you will.

Jean, how are things with you today? Hope you and your family are all okay.

Going to make a cuppa now as it won't be long before Alun gets home.

Take care.

Sallie, a lot from you since I last posted. Horrible journey you had back from Richards.
Mo Yes of course all babies are gorgeous.
No I don't do craft work in the conservatory, even with a heater it would be too cold in winter (and too hot in summer) as it is a glass one, not a house extension type. I do my craft work in what would be the third bedroom which is craft room come office (for me) and TV room (for Tony in the evenings when he wants to watch sport). The fourth bedroom is small and is his office and repository for lots of my books and old photo albums.
I hope Nany P can now have a pleasant life doing what she wants to do.
Your 50s night sounds great - you didn't tell us what you wore :-D

Sallie again Garden centres are great although our local one is very small really and doesn't have a lot of stuff not garden related to look at. We usually share a scone or cake, feel more virtuous that way Lol!

I haven't seen waxed paper in Hobbycraft but I wonder if it is more likely to be in the cake decorating/making section?
It does help to remove all the little bits.
I have to admit to not doing the planned housework today. We walked round for the papers, managing it before it rained. It is now blowing a hooly out there and raining hard so good job we did. When I came back I did the last page of grandson's scrap book. Still too dark to take photos of the pages Jean. But it was Ann Cardiff who had really bad weather overnight, we had rain but no hail or thunder.
Jean thanks for the card photos you sent I must have another look at them I was a bit rushed last night as it was quite late when I saw them.

Hi all,
Yes Sallie, I am orft to me darts tonight. Thankfully the venue is in a pub just round the corner from home, so not to far to travel.

Jean, I hope that one of the children will come and see us soon, so that hopfully I can get them to show me how to send you photo's of last saturday night.
Oh and by the way, Robin Cousins, is head judge on the Dancing on Ice show on the t.v. He was one of the U.K's greatest ice skaters, apart from Torville and Dean that is.

We are waiting for a phone call, to tell us what time our grandaughter is home from hospital, so that we can go and see the baby, and I can get some cuddles with her.

See you all tomorrow. Love Mo xxx

Hi girls,

It's one of those days I'm afraid, I was going to do the irorning today, but have been playing around with GC, made a couple of cards, watched the craft programme and now on here.lol!!

Mo are you off to play darts tonight? If so, hope you and your team will have a good win.

Jean, just thinking that maybe I can get some waxed paper at HobbyCraft ot tThe Range, although I can't remember seeing it there, but then again I've never looked for it in either place. Might get Alun to take me after we've had our dinner this evening. I'm a bit impatient tonight now, I'm afraid.

Ann, I see on Shaun's thread that you and a few of the others have had some bad weather overnight and this morning. Hope it has got a lot better for you by now.

Must go and try to get a couple of jobs done, I'll look in later today.

Take care everyone.

Oh Jean, that sounds good, thank you. Never even thought of the waxed paper in cereal boxes, as you say a freebie.lol!! I always have baking parchment in and Michael suggested today that it might be okay to use that, so I will give it a go. I looked for the wax paper in the craft centre this afternoon, but they didn't have it there.

Thanks again for those suggestions Jean.

use the left over wax die too.....sometimes you need to add a thin card or I use an envelope as further shim....
