Hi, Mo. I bought some of that gel about 6 months ago. It does seem to work, although dont expect instant results. I used it on a grape vine that was coming up in the wrong place, also on some mint. It seems to have killed them.

Yes Ann, you are correct, three yearly or on request.
I must admit, the new machine is much more comfortable, no more feeling like they are squeezing your skin off your torso.
My appointment was for 11.30, and much to my surprise, I was in and out by that time.

I hope you are all well, and raring to go.
The garden is looking lovely at the moment, apart from the awful bind weed that the garden over the back of us producing.
We have bought some of the new Roundup gel, that you just dab on the weeds, and is supposed to kill them off.....well we will wait and see about that.
If the the bind weed does die off, I will be so pleased, as all our neighbour seems to grow is weeds anyway. lol

Take care one and all, Mo xxx

I am sorry to hear about your friend Sylvia but I am sure the palliative care will be the best thing for him, where they can look after him.

Mo I think they go on doing a three year mammogram until you are 70 and then you can still request them if you wish (at least in this area.)

Mo in Kent Report 28 Apr 2013 17:52

Oh Sylvia, how sad about your Daughters god father, but it had to come at sometime I suppose. But I wonder why it was classed as an emergency, unless of course he was a real danger to himself or his wife.
Bless his wife, she will have a lot of adjusting to do now,in accepting the inevitable.
When I first read your post, re the pink snow, I thought you had encountered a strange phenomenom(sp) till I saw that it was blossom. lol Next door to us have beautiful trees, but once the blossom falls it's a nightmare for us as neighbours, as like you were mentioning, our car stays on the drive, and gets covered in it.

Tomorrow is Mammogram day....ooooh painful. But I have been told they have changed the machine now, and it's not quite so brutal.
I thought I had passed the age when they stop doing them, but apparantly they now leave it three years between squeezing's, oh well, I would rather be safe than sorry anyday.

Well my friends, it's time I was making some tea, so I will say cheerio for now.
Take care one and all, love Mo xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone

Jean ....... so glad to hear that you have finally got that appointment!!!

We had quite the weather change today (Saturday) .............. had to have lights on in rooms, turned the heating back on, windy, and had to wear rain gear

and .............................. everywhere is covered with pink snow :-D

The wind is blowing away all the pink petals from the cherry trees!

The flowers are not lasting as long as they usually do ................ but the streets, grassy boulevards, sidewalks and gardens sure do look pretty all covered in the pink "snow

Not too sure that car owners who leave their cars parked on the street are too happy with the petals sticking on the vehicles though :-D

Our friend, daughter's GodF, was taken into Emergency yesterday ........ he's in a "temporary" bed while they find a palliative care bed for him. :-( :-( :-( :-(

Take care everyone

Mo, on the bottom of an email from the person in charge of volunteers: "Volunteers dont get paid.......not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless." It made me feel great.

Well done Jean, glad you have got your appointment. A nuisance that it is further to go, but better than waiting any longer.
Sallie no we are still here.
Not sure if you really want to sell your house or not but good luck with whatever you want.

Jean. pleased to hear that your appointment have come through at last....sorry it's not in the hospital you went to the first time. I'm sure D will take you if J doesn't feel up to driving somewhere new to him.

I looked at the pics you sent me and have sent you a e-mail, hope you have got it okay.

Mo, if the couple wants this house and if we can find a bungalow not too far away, we will more than likely move.....although some of our neighbours are not too keen on us moving. Apart from one lot, we have some really lovely neighbours, so we will also be sorry to move from them. We shall just have to wait and see what happens.lol!!

Hope you and Roly enjoy your day with your grandchildren tomorrow, let's hope the weather will be good, well dry at least.

Ann, not sure if you and T have gone away yet, if you have, hope you have a lovely holiay. Take care both of you.

Alun and I went to the garden centre today we bought some plants and also had the usual coffee/tea and scone at their restaurant and coffee shop. We also went in the craft centre there, but I only bought some paper and some greeting labels....didn't have anything new there at all.

Not sure what we are doing tomorrow, we might have to meet my cousin in Stoke on Trent it will be about half way from her place in North Wales. I'm hoping to hear from her when she finishes work tonight, she's a nurse in a hospital in Chester.

I'll speak to you all tomorrow evening.

Take care.

At long last they have got their finger out, and given you an appointment Jean.
At least this way you can plan when you want to have a break away can't you.
It does seem stupid making you travel so far, when you have good dental care so close by, but then these things are never straight forward are they.

Sallie, sorry to hear you have been suffering with migraine headaches. They make you feel like poo don't they.
I can't believe it has been that long that your house has been on the market Sallie.
That estate agent never did anything to warrant their fees did they. And it's just typical that when you decide to do some decoration, or alterations of any kind. up comes someone who wants to view.
Will you still sell if they want the house, or have you and Alun decided to stay put now.

Huia, make sure you tell a friend when you go through things in your box room, so that they can send out the search parties if you are missing for any amount of time lol.
The hospice must be really proud of the amount of money being raised, and I bet you have donated an awful lot to them love in the past. Well done you Huia.

Well girls it's the weekend again.. Has anyone got anything exciting planned.
Hopefully I shall be visiting three of my grandchildren tomorrow, Lilly and her big brother and sister. Lilly and her parents have just come back from 5 days in Clacton, weren't they lucky with the weather. They got woken by heavy rain pitter pattering on the Caravan roof this morning, they were glad that it was time to come back home, now that the weather has broken.

Well my lovelies, I will say bye for now, love to all, Mo xxx

Sallie Report 25 Apr 2013 23:55

Hi girls, haven't been on GR for a day or two, as I've suffered a couple of migraine attacks, but much better now.

Mo, whatever is that receptionist at your surgery doing? I think the first thing they need to do, is check that she knows the 24hr clock and that she can then record the appointments correctly. You certainly need to make it clear to the doctor on Tuesday that the receptionist had given you the wrong time, also hope the other patients it happened to will do the same.

Like Jean's surgery, our surgery now records the calls for appointments which they tell us are used for training purposes.

Jean, haven't looked at your pics yet, but will as soon as I've posted this. Pleased that your eyes were ok and that you don't have to go back for six months.

Huia, the shop seems to be doing well, it's a pity we live so far apart, my friend's hubby loves doing jigsaws, they have been getting rid of some of them as he had 98 altogether and with them hoping to move house sometime in the near future they need to get rid of them. Although they have managed to get rid of about fifty of them they want to get rid of the rest of them.
Hope you enjoyed your lunch in Papakura before visiting Phil. Also hope that Phil is as well as he can be.

Ann, sorry that T and his partner lost their game of golf. At least you had lovely time shopping in Cheltenham and managed to buy a few ' necessities ' ready for your holiday.

Mo thanks for letting us know Marie is alright, but that she is having problems with getting on here, like quite a few of us.

Sylvia, hope you and OH are both alright.

Oh dear, Alun has just come home from the MR club and told me that there has been a body found in the canal and that it is one of the members dad.....not sure if it was an accident or suicide. Apparently his dad hadn't been well for a few months.

Not sure if I told you that our house is still on the market, we didn't take it off because the estate agents wanted £300 to take it off the market.....the only one in the town that charges to take it off. For a while we have been thinking about changing our bathroom suite, so last Saturday we ordered and paid for a new suite, just as we got back in the car had a call from the estate agent on Alun's mobile telling us that a couple was coming on Wednesday evening to view the house. It is two and a half years since anyone viewed it so thought we'll take it off the market and do the bathroom......so of course we have to have the suite because it is paid for.
We'll just have to wait and see now.

Well I'm ready for bed now, so will speak to you all tomorrow.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Huia Report 25 Apr 2013 22:03

Hi, girls. I still look in while I have my breakfast, but havent been posting. I have been going through the boxes of 'stuff' in the 'junk' room, or 'box' room as I am rearranging things. I have managed to find some things to take to the Hospice shop, and other stuff to put out in the rubbish. I am far from finished, but at least I have made a start to something I have told myself for years that I must do.

So if you dont see me for a while I am doing that if I am not going in to the shop or to visit Phil (which I will be doing today, visiting him and taking some stuff to the shop). We took over $1000 on Wednesday. The pile of jigsaws we had has reduced considerably as it is the school hols and very wet weather, so I am taking a lot of my jigsaws in. I have lost interest in doing them. I still have lots left so will take them in another time.

It was a beautiful sunny morning with no clouds when I got up but the clouds have now arrived so I guess it will be another day of rain. Must get moving, I will leave here in an hour or so and have lunch in Papakura before visiting Phil.

Hi Mo, no not long before the holiday but I shan't put the dates on here. I'll PM you, don't want to advertise when we are away. Although our neighbours keep a pretty close eye on the house and garden for us.

I haven't seen Huia on here for a few days but no doubt she is busy busy.

Jean, how did you get on with your eye check up. I hope it was all OK. such a worry having all these things to be checked over. I don't remember my parents even thinking about their health as we do.

Better go and check on T he is painting the fence and shed!!! :-)

Hello girls,
Don't worry, I definately will be bringing the mistake up with my doctor next week.
And of she gets short with me, I shall be doing a lickle bit of shouting myself, especially as I had a wasted journey going there myself.

I hope things went o.k at the glaucoma clinic Jean. Roly went the week before last, and got his results through today, everything is o.k with his eyes at the moment as far as they are concerned. But, he does have to have his cattaract lasered when the appoitment comes through. ( now we know thats a laugh don't we Jean...waiting for an appointment I mean)

Hi Ann, I wasn't ignoring you love. I bet T has been having a great time over the last few days, the golf course must have been calling him every morning....what with the sun shining through the bedroom window, and the golf clubs shouting come and get me.

Good to see you Sylvia. I was only thinking to myself that we hadn't heard from you in a wee while, and lo and behold, theres your lovely face showing up.

I had an E.Mail from Marie in OZ, and she has been having a terrible time trying to get onto this site. In the end she mailed me to let you all know what had been happening.
It seems that it's not just the U.K thats having problems, what with both Sylvia and Marie suffering problems with connection to here.
Thinking about it, has Huia been on lately?

Ooops hi there Sallie, I nearly forgot to say hello to you my love.

Well my lovelies, I will say cheerio for now. Love Mo xxx

Beggars belief Mo, I can understand how angry you are, what our surgery does is tell you that any conversation will be recorded, so I wonder if it is the same at yours, I would ask as the person who told you and two other folk seems to have misheard or not read the times of the appointments, I couldnt leave it , I would have to find out , it happened to me quite a while ago and there was no proof of the time I was told, now they record ,so at least they can be checked....Its like me I rang yesyerday to try and find out if my date was even on the bookings, could I get through could I eck, I phoned every number , I finally got to speak to someone who said she would contact the person who deals with the appointments and she would get her to contact me , still waiting , . :-S :-S :-S
tomorrow I go to the glaucoma clinic for my check up, I had my eyes tested at s/ savers on monday and he told me my left eye was weaker than last time, due to the cataract getting bigger, so we shall see what tomorows check up reveals,
I am having problems with being cold all the time , everyone else is boiling , and I am wrapped in a throw. lecky blanket on every night....

Its not all bad I have lost nearly a stone in weight,so onwards and weightless

Sallie i will send some pics through tell me what you think will you. hope all is well with you and yours.

big waves to everyone else~~~~~~~~~~~~~ X ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
