AnninGlos Report 6 Jun 2013 12:53

Hope you are enjoying your birthday Jean.

Ergh!!! Just been to have half my teeth deep cleaned (Have injections so he can dig deep). Mentioned one of my 'remaining' front teeth is extra sensitive. He says a feeling has come out and it is a deep hole. I can either have it out or a root filling. So I have an appointment for a root filling when I return from Lanzarote. (appt 24 July). Cost £200 altogether for two long appointments. I shall really look forward to that!!!! Have the rest of the cleaning next week and a dressing put on the tooth. I hate teeth. :-)

No Ann,it was some lino we had down when we clean it with the steam mop it appears the water had seeped underneath and the spongy backing had soaked it all up we thought the edges were sealed , but they werent, so we had to take it all up and its outside drying off but no doubt we will throw it away and get something else....
there was no leak...then the plumber found the stop cock had a leak when you turned it off, so he replaced that, job done,we still need to sort out the electrics,

Mo in Kent Report 3 Jun 2013 19:57

Oh no Jean, what a shame about your electrical problems. It never rains but it pours my love, stiff upper lip honey, and smile in adversity....so they say, but not so easily done is it.
It's so frustrating that the kitchen fitter is away, just when you need him. I presume he was gas and electric certificated, if not, sue the backside of him, don't chase him with the kitchen knife, we definately don't want ot read all about it in the papers.
And I am not to good at baking a cake, and adding an extra ingerdient in it, ie a file to help you escape prison. ;-)

Well thats one hospital visit for Roly under his belt, only another three to go, before his final visit with the specialist.
He is doing o.k at the moment, thank the lord.

I hope you are all well. Love to all, Mo xxx

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 3 Jun 2013 17:11

Jean could the leak you found have affected the electrics? what a nuisance (to put it mildly) for you. I hope that you can get things sorted painlessly.

JustJean

JustJean Report 3 Jun 2013 16:08

What a nightmare of a day, we had an electricion call to fix the plugs not working, he tested every plug, every electrical socket in the house and cant find the fault , looks like we have to have to have the kitchen dismantled and finally the house rewired.
we also found a leak which we thinks is coming from the dishwasher, the guy who put the kitchen in has just gone on a two week holiday, we can use one half of the kitchen electrics, so we can manage but we ware so upset with what looks like a botched up job so if I go missing you will read about it in the dailys ," woman gone berserk with carving knife as a poor man is now missing some vital parts" :-0 :-| :-0 :-| :-0 :-|

Thank goodness you are back our Sallie, we missed you my love.
You will have to put a notice in the bathroom, stating how much it costs to use the ablutions, especially as it will look so grand when it's finished.
Well done you, for staying longer at Richards than you intended. The break and change of surroundings will have done you the world of good.

Well girls, it's been a glorious day today, I hope you have all enjoyed it.
All is well here at the moment (fingers crossed). I do hope all is well with you all as well.
Cheerio for now, love to all, Mo xxx

Sallie Report 2 Jun 2013 14:43

Hi everyone, sorry I haven’t been on here for almost a couple of weeks. I’ve had a few bad days but feeling better now, as went to see the Consultant last week and he has increased my medication, so hopefully I will feel a lot better. Alun and I have also been down to Richard’s for a few days, and I feel quite pleased with myself for staying a couple of days longer than I have been able to for a long while.
We came home yesterday morning, and now Alun and Michael are putting in our new bathroom suite.
Luckily, Michael is a plumber by trade so is able to fit it for us, so we will give him the money for doing it.
Hope you are all okay, I will read the posts I have missed so will ‘speak’ to you all later on today.
Love, Sallie.xxx

Marie, slow down honey, you must see your doctor as soon as possible, and get yourself sorted out.
You can't afford to lose much more weight, or you will dissappear down a drain hole.
Life has been so awful for you, over the last few months, that it is bound to affect your life and health.
You rpoor daughter has been through the mill, and the children must be devastated.
But the youngsters are now nearly grown, and will adapt.
When my daughters husband left her for another woman, not so long ago, she was at her lowest ebb I have ever seen her in her life.
She was left with nothing, apart from a home her OH had said he would not help her with, and three children to house and feed.
Kim pulled her horns in, worked darned hard, saw her mortgage company, and bought him out by extending her mortgage, and got on with her life.
She has now met a wonderful man, who idolises her, and has asked her, after one years courtship, to marry him.
At first my daughter had no confidence to go out and about, and started initially Internet dating, which believe you me, scared the pants off her father and myself. We were never sure who she would meet up with, but eventually, she met her future husband via the net, and we could not be happier for her than we are now. But at the time, we were so worried for her and the girls, and full of hate for our ex son in law, who has by the way, already married the woman he left our daughter for.
Our grandaughters initially wanted nothing to do with their father, but our daughter sensibly said they couldn't just shut him out of their lives, as he was their father after all said and done.
Stay strong Marie, life will sort it's way out for you all soon.((((((((HUGS))))))) <3

Oooh Ann, it's a good job that T is versatile, and can turn his hand to many things, or you would have had to sleep on the mattress on the floor. lol
I bet you were both shattered after your journey, and delays. I just wish you had managed to bring some sunshine home with you though.
Oooh yuk, poor you having to sit by a sickly person on your journey home. And I hope T's calf muscle is not playing him up to much today. I bet if he gets the chance, he will be off to the golf course, providing the leg allows of course.
Have you caught up with the dreaded washing yet? If your weather is like ours, it will be a case of drying the clothes indoors.

Today I had to drive Roly to the hopsital, for his hearing aid to be re-tubed and upgraded.
Goodness me, the traffic since I ceased driving five years ago, has increased ten fold.
When ever I have to drive us anywhere now, I end up a nervous wreck, and have to sit down for a while to calm myself down a bit. What an idiot I am, as I used to enjoy driving, but not now I'm afraid.
Next monday I have got to take Roly back to the hospital for xrays on his teeth. His dentist wont take a tooth out, till he gets the xrays done, following his stroke that is, it seems daft to me, but hey ho, they know what they are on about I suppose.

Still no news from Sallie, so I will message her, to make sure all is o.k with her and Alun.

Bye for now my friends, take care, love to all, Mo xxx

Hello to you all It is Marie,
Sylvia I will try what it was you said I will have another look at the instructions and hope I can remember them
I have been ill and unfortunately I am still feeling Nauseous all the time as soon as I eat my breakfast.
I went to the Gym on Tuesday the 1st time for awhile , I was very sore the next day .I think the Nausea may be caused from all the worry and stress of not knowing where I will be once the property is sold.
Mo I am so pleased to hear that Roly is on the mend I hope the results from the Doctor' will be helpful.

I am afraid I do not have anything cheerful to tell you , my Daughter Kathleen seems to be on a roleacoaster ride one day positive the next down as far as you can get and blaming everyone else unable to stop crying , she is a mess,we cant help her she has to do this herself., It looks like Brian has made up his mind to quit the marriage
I just feel so down and so sad for Kathleen. and for Victoria and Sebastian his children.
I must go and find something to eat as it is well past my meal time, I have lost a lot of weight since I have given up sugar, I only weigh about 57 kilos fully dressed, I may have to visit the doctor if I continue to lose weight.
<3 Love and hugs to you all my friends <3 Marie

Sorry going to copy and paste the following so you may have already read it

Had a lovely time, the weather was mixed, a couple of weeks of hot sun and blue skies and a couple more mixed with some cloudy days and some cloudy, windy with patches of sun. However it was warmer than here and we had some nice meals out.

Wendy, our host, was very kind and took us to the shopping centre and also dropped us down in Puerto when she was going down. We also went with Wendy to the quiz run by an English group which was fun, had a good meal there too. And Wendy had a barbecue type evening when it was lovely to eat outside in the evening sun.

Our bed broke and OH fixed it ( no, not the springs!!! The bolt in the folding mechanism) And OH's garden lounger chair broke but he fixed that too.

Well we finally got home at 6am this morning, went to bed for 3.5 hours and now feel jet lagged. Have done our grocery shop though and a wash load, but not unpacked.

The flight was delayed over four hours because the aircraft had a technical problem at Gatwick (BA). We did have 12 euros worth of vouchers each which is something. then it took 15 minutes to get the covered walk way so that was a very long day. Then we had to drive the long way home via M25 and Oxford because the M4 was shut between junctions 13 and 14. Oh and OH pulled his calf muscle as we were getting off the plane, luckily the left one so a good job we have an automatic. And the young woman next to me (We were not able to sit together but I was behind OH both in window seats.) was travel sick three hours into the very smooth flight which was off putting, although obviously not something she would do on purpose.

Anyway back to the unpacking. Good to be back on here, the IPad is very useful but Genes seems to take for ever to download onto it.

Ooooh Ann's back, good, we can hear all her news girls.
Jean, you are so unlucky my love, having no electric is a pain in the posteria.
Have you got a gas cooker to do your meals? We are lucky that we have got a gas hob, so if needs be, we can boil a saucepan of water up for hot drinks.
As it is, we have got the central heating on at the moment, as it's turned so cold here again.
Roly seems to feel the cold more now, than before his stroke. I suppose it's because the hospital have taken him off his soluble aspirin temporarily, and his blood is thickening up a bit more....who knows, not me thats for sure.
Things are plodding along here at home, thank goodness.
No news at all from our Sallie, I will have to message her if we dont hear something soon.
I hope you are all well. Take care my friends, hugs to you all, Mo xxx

Hello my lovely friends, good to hear from you all.
Just a quick update on Roly...today has been a good day, so fingers crossed for tomorrow.
His appointment for his scans, and to see the specialist came through today. He has to go in mid July, to get them all done on the same day.

Jean my love, the clan are fine so far. Lilly has to use a Ventolin inhaler at the moment, they are not sure if she has Asthma, or if it's just a chest infection.
Both our great grandaughters are doing well, and growing quickly.
Our eldest daughter is still not talking to me, and wont even look at me, if we are in the same room, ie, the hospital when Roly was in there. She does ring her dad on his mobile, just in case I answer the home phone. Oh well never mind, everyone else is as close as ever.
Our daughter whose husband left her for another woman, about three years ago, has just got engaged to a lovely man, who treats her like royalty. We are so pleased for them both, and our daughter deserves a man like hime, after the way the last blighter treated her.

Ann, are you still enjoying the sunshine, or is it getting boring now. lol
Stay where you are love, because it's been really cold here today, and we have had the heating on again. For goodness sake, it's May, not October, and we should be in summer wear now, not winter woolies and coats.

Hi there Sylvia, like you, I click on post date, it saves so much messing about.
I know that Marie was having problems getting onto G.R, and onto this thread in particular.
Hows things with you and the family? Any plans for doing the train journey yet?
We all love to hear of your escapades on there, and of the people you meet in your travels.
Does Viv still post on the other thread? I haven't looked in on there for a while I have to admit. But then I tend to pop in here quickly, just to make sure our friends are o.k, and I love catching up with them all.

Oooh Jean, I forgot to tell you, I was in a competition last Monday at darts. It was teams of four, and guess what my lickle love, we WON, so I have got a trophy to pick up on presentation night.
It was a very late night for us all, and we played our last match at 11.30 p.m, I didn't get home till after midnight, and was shattered the following day.
You would have been proud of me lovey, but don't waste your money on the normal darts season, as thats when I play rubbish darts. lol ;-)

Must go and get my bath now as I am out tonight, yep, playing darts. :-D
Bye my friends, take care, love Mo xxx

Hi all, JeniW, (jean), if it is any consolation, our neighbour's little boy only ate weetabix and a few biscuits until he was school age, he used to take bread and butter sandwiches for lunch until he was quite old he always drank lots of milk. He is now 19 and a strapping lad so it did him no harm, and he seems to eat anything including meat now.

Jean what a complete pain the NHS is, did they say why it was cancelled? If you are bothered I would mention it to your doctor ( or dentist).

Mo, hopefully Roly will get less tired as he gets better and builds up his strength.

Hi Sylvia I think we are all a bit lax adding to this thread sometimes.

Where is Sallie? Is she ok? :-)

Marie ...........

I keep meaning to say ........................ you don't have to scroll all the way back through the pages.

Since the problems started, it is much faster to click on Post Date ................... on the line at the top above the first post

That takes you straight to the most recent page of postings.

Then you just have to go back 1 or 2 pages to find where you last posted.

It is a bit back to front, and you have to go to the bottom of the page, then read up if you ant to read the pages in sequence.

But, it doesn't take 15 minutes !!!!

Oh for goodness sake Jean, how could they build you up, and worry the life out of you, just to cancel your appointment like that.
What is the NHS coming to. Stay strong, and try not to worry about it, as it can't be as urgent as they led you to think my love.
At least now, you and J can book your holiday, and know that it's not going to have to be cancelled. Get yourselves of to Wales for your lovely break that you both enjoy so much.

We are still waiting for Roly's hospital appointments to come through. He is coping at the moment, but gets tired very very quickly.
We went our for lunch today, with friends of ours. The husband drove us, as I didn't know where the restuarant was, but by the time we got home, Roly was ready for a nap, that he didn't get by the way, as the phone rang as he dropped off, bless him.

Ooops got to go, visitors just arrived. Love to all, Mo xxx
