Yes Ann, the church is C of E, and our daughter is still trying to get them lopped.
Unfortunately she can't do it herself, as bless her she is tiny, and the branches are so high up, that even if she was able to climb up the tree via a step ladder, she would still not be able to reach them.
The baby is comfortable where it is Ann, and wont be very happy to be disturbed tomorrow, and poor mum to be will be sweating buckets bless her in the heat.

Jean, our garden is absolutely tiny, but it's big enough for me to cope with. The pots take up a lot of room out there, and the raised beds don't need a lot of looking after, as they have got perrennials in them.
I bet you are wondering to yourself how you managed to accumulate so much crafting bits. And the lady who received your bits and bobs, must be over the moon.
Is there enough room in your conservatory for you to have some indoor plants love. I am sure they would look nice in there, and bring the outside inside for you both.

My word what a lovely day we have had today. The temperature was up to 28c, but now it's lovely and cool, with a soft breeze blowing. Heres hoping it lasts for a bit longer.
Bye for now girls, take care, love and hugs Mo xxx

Ann, everything has gone except the work tables, which I am hoping a primary school could use them , I have lots of my own stuff but need to decided how to store it although I may have to off load some stuff ;-) ;-) once the tables have gone I will have a better Idea....I kept finding stuff I had complely forgotten, I had stuff from quite a few years back..but the lady who took nearly all of it came back and took the rest, and I thought I was addicted !!! so its done now......I will send the last lot of pics to you,
but dont stop sending yours will you?
hope you and T are well. wish I had your garden :-D :-D :-D

Dropping in from Hampshire. Still no baby, they came round to see us yesterday and if nothing happens before she will be induced tomorrow. When they first told us about the baby they said the first week in July by their estimate but the midwife said 26 June. I think their date was most likely right.

Very hot and sunny here, we have just come back from the garden centre, lots of lovely flowers but didn't want to risk having to take them home tomorrow in a hot car.

Yesterday we went to another garden centre for lunch, Hobbycraft, would you believe they have Christmas card making stuff in? And the big M & S.

Huia your pics are good, I saw them on Facebook.

Mo your Daughter is entitled to lop off branches that overhang her property. If I were her I would continue to send letters to the church until they do something about it. Is it C of E?

Jean did you manage to sell all your craft stuff that you wanted to sell? Enjoy the room now.

Edited to change granddaughter to daughter. Sorry Mo

Huia, many thanks for you photos, well done with the awards....I always like getting pics and yours are especially nice to look at , hope you are well and that Phil is being well looked after, I am sure it is agreat help for you to know he is safe....
the shop seems to be doing very well,

I have finally cleared my craft room out so now craftless....lol.... but no doubt some cards will creep in now and then, I have had so much p[easure doing them, but all things come to an end sooner or later...I hope to take some photos when we get out and about now, always was my first love,

Mo, your day out sounds lovely , and the hard work your daughter has done in her garden will be great now the sun is out, we alas havent got a garden I wanted to have a little plot at the back of the parking plots but as we dont own the land its a no go.
I used to have a lovely garden in our old house, grew all my own plants too , still I have a few tubs in the tiny front bit in front of the house, and hope to get some for in front of the window at the back, so we can see some colour when we sit in our now empty conservatory, :-( :-( :-

have good week ahead everyone, love to Sylvia, Marie and all who is over the waters,
take care and enjoy life the best way you can :-D :-D :-D

much love and prayers Jean xxx

Oooops my mistake Huia, about the grub I mean, I forgot they are an Australian delicacy, not NZ.
Was it last year you had your school reunion? It's a pity that I have lost contact with a lot of my old school friends.
We did have a reunion marking our 25th year of leaving, but lost contact after that.

We have had a lovely day, visiting the grandchildren, and then our second eldest daughter.
She has worked so hard on her garden. She has been unable to lay turf in her garden, due to the overhanging trees that belong to the church, and drop sap constantly. She chased them up a few years ago, and asked them to cut them back just a little, but it has never been done since, and anything she planted died.
She has just laid Astro Turf at the bottom of the garden, and laid slabs in the upper patio area.
It's looking really good. Bless her she was exhausted this afternoon when we called in to see her.

Bye for now my cyber friends, love Mo xxx

Sallie, I might send those photos to you when I get home this afternoon.

Huia Report 5 Jul 2013 21:46

Mo, it is the Aussies who eat witchetty grubs. Ours are called huhu, but they are probably the same beastie. And my photography is not as good as some of the other members of the club do. I am more into snapshots generally speaking. Some of the other club members do stuff that looks more professional, and arty stuff.

I am going out today. The High School that I attended has an open day and I am hoping I might meet up with some of my old schoolmates. A room has been set aside for us. Tomorrow I am driving over to North Shore to visit my sister. She has had 2 cataract operations recently and isn't keen on travelling. Particularly up our rough and winding road.

Huia, I have seen the photo's on FB. Oooh was that a witchety (sp) grub that the woman was eating. I know it was not a real one, but it did look authentic love.
This is one clever girl shooting these photo's girls, if you get a chance, take a look at them. Huia is our own David Bailey of photographic fame.

As much as I like the sunshine, it does show up the dirt and grime.
Today the windows and nets got done, just in time for the window cleaner, who also turned up this morning.
We can actually see out of the windows clearly now, and I am chuffed to bits that thats another job completed.

Well girls, it's another weekend upon us, not long till christmas. lol ;-) ;-) ;-)
Tomorrow we are going to see Lilly and her older brother and sister. It's time grandad had his cuddles with his baby girl. When Roly is around, I get left at the side by Lilly, they have such a tight bond between them.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, love to all, Mo xxx

Hope all our friends on here are okay. I have to go out now but will back on here later on today.

Take care everyone and enjoy the lovely sunshine we are having today.

Thank goodness you found your hearing aid Huia, you would have been lost without it wouldn't you.
If you are like Roly, he takes his out when he is in a very noisy environment, and often asks me where he has put it.... o'k, clever I might be, but a mystic who can conjure up and aid out of thin air, I am not.
What a shame you were unable to see, or hear the bird you were looking out for.
Your Dad must have had a good foesight, to have taken so many photo's that people these days would not be aware of. Things change so much over the years don't they.
Well done on your merit awards for your photographs.

Ann, we went in to buy more strawberried today, and guess what, they had run out of the free cream. They have given us a token for a free one when they get them in again.
It will be just my luck that they won't have any in till the strawberries have come to and end. :-( :-( :-(

Well the nice weather has come to an end, it's been raining since lunch time. Yes I know the garden needs it, but I need some more sunshine...says she pouting her bottom lip out in a sulk.

Cheers for now me dears. Love to all, Mo xxx

I cant see a big smile of relief on our smileys! I found my hearing aid on the floor of the shop, just outside one of the changing booths. It is a good thing nobody had trodden on it.

On Sunday afternoon I went over the hill to the next valley. They have constructed a practice circuit for beginner mountain bikers, in a paddock beside the river. After watching the young people trying out the humps and bumps and so on, a lot of us got into several vehicles and were driven up a road which is not open to public vehicles, although trampers can go up it, and I had been up it quite a few times in the past when Phil was still working for Auckland City Water dept.

At the end of the track is a small camp site and hut. We got out and tried to hear and see one of the rare Kokako (Blue wattled crow). A pair of them have been seen and heard hanging around there quite a bit. Unfortunately we didn't get a view of them, even though the ranger played a tape of their song, hoping to lure the male in closer. After a walk down a track through the bush to be shown the possum and stoat traps by and on a big tree we went back up to the vans and returned to the bike place, where we had a BBQed sausage (other things available too) in a piece of bread. I had 2 (greedy, but didn't have meat when I had my dinner that night).

There were some display boards, and I found they had quite a few photos that my dad had taken in the valley in 1925. They got them from a website. I had lent the originals to a man in the Manukau Library to photograph and put on the Library history website. One of the younger biking men is interested in the history of the valley so we exchanged names and email addresses etc, and I will email him some more photos some time.

Huia I hope you found your hearing aid.

Mo, yes, Tescos strawberries and free cream T can never resist them, I really prefer raspberries, had a few from the garden but the rest aren't ripe yet.

I am up early today, even though I had a late night last night. I woke at 5.30 and couldn't get back to sleep. I am going in to the shop soon as I lost one of my hearing aids in there, didn't realise it was gone until I got into my car to come home, and went to remove the aids. I think it must have come out when I removed a top that I had been trying on.

I will post later about the day over the hill, etc.

Sylvia, what good news about your cabin, I hope and pray that it sells very quickly for you. The price increase is a bonus as well. Have you got much left in storage up there?.
Thank goodness the surgeon told her to get checked out about the colon cancer.
I know that if one person in the family has suffered, it makes the rest of the family take more care, and get things checked up more regularly, but what a coincidence he bought the subject up to her.
I hope things work out for her.

Huia, hoe did the sausage sizzle day go? Were many people in attendance for the new trail opening.
Also did you manage to get some photo's of the blue wattled crow you were in search of.
Enjoy your freedom love, you don't want to be overdoing things in the shop.

Jean, I can't believe the differnce in temperature between here and where you live.
For the last two days it has been really warm here, in fact I felt a right narner, as I took my coat out with me on both days, and didn't need it. There were people walking around in shorts and T shirts, and summer dresses, and there was I dressed for winter. lol

Ann, I bet you got your Strawberries and cream from Tes*o's, they are giving the cream away free with the fruit, I should know, coz we bought the same. lol
And they were absolutley scrummy I must say.
Have you caught up with your washing yet love?
Oh and by the way, thanks for bringing some of the suns rays back with you.

I hope everyone is well, take care of yourselves please.
Must go now, love to all. Mo xxx

Hello all, a very windy day here but warm and sunny, so we went round the garden centre for coffee and the club members' offer for June (nearly missed it) was buy a £7.99 patio rose and get one free. And they are beautiful, really good value with lots of buds to come. came back and did some more tidying in the garden.

Then made a card for granddaughter's birthday, doesn't seem possible that she is 11.

Now got the oven on ready to put the chicken in for dinner. Had a barbecue last night which was lovely but really wanted a roast today (always do after a holiday away).

Sallie. Allun's finger sounds very painful, I hope the atitches heal in the given 10 days, that is usually the time for stitches to heal.
