Mo in Kent Report 29 Sep 2013 19:48

Oh what a shame Huia. I thought perhaps it was all the shimmering and shaking, that had distorted them.

Huia

Huia Report 29 Sep 2013 19:42

Mo, the photos of the dancers were ok except for the background of a row of chairs at the back of the stage, and some lines on the wall and ceiling, plus a sound system box on the front of the stage. As I don't have photoshop I cant remove those things from the photos and the judges expect to have such distractions removed.

Good evening girls,
Sallie, at the moment there is no news on Marilyn, I shall have to send her an E.Mail,at least that way, if Marilyn is unable to open her mail, her OH maybe will do.
Oooh you are good starting early with your xmas presents. Up to now, I have only got two, and they are for Lilly.
I am waiting to hear what is wanted for Zoey, and Gracies present wont be on sale till November.
I don't blame you for taking the craft light back Sallie, and then to find one at half the price is a bonus.

Huia, it sounds like you had a real ball at the aging expo. It sounds like "Help the aged in this country" except that it's not always a free day out. They do arrange outings and meals for the elderly, but I believe it's mostly with a charge involved.
I can just imagine you wiggling your hips along with the belly dancers. What a pity the photo's didn't come out as well as you had hoped. There was probably to much movement in the photo's, what with all the bellies wobbling about, lol

Jean, I was reading about the shingles jab, when I was at the doctors on Tuesday. But I thought it was for people aged 70 and over, so you are far to young to be having it for a good few years yet.
Our flu jab is booked for October, that was the earliest we could get an appointment.

Oooh girls, my appointment for the breast clinic has come through already. Considering I didn't see our doctor till last Tuesday, and my appointment is for this Thursday at 9.40. The letter confirming the date arrived yesterday, now that is quick work isn't it. So fingers crossed for me girls.

Bye for now my friends, take care of yourselves. Hugs Mo xxx

Huia Report 28 Sep 2013 21:33

Yes Sallie, my cold is slowly going away. I went to the Aging Expo. I think that is what they call it. There are lots of stalls with info on all sorts of things - diabetes, hearing, retirement homes, various clubs the elderly can join. There is also entertainment on stage: line dancing, singers, belly dancers. I took my camera so I got lots of photos of the belly dancers in the hopes of a good photo for 'style' in a week's time at our camera club, but I feel they aren't good enough. But while I was watching and photographing I was wiggling my hips like the dancers! I just couldn't resist. Maybe I will join their group instead of the camera club.

Who says there is no such thing as a free lunch? It was free at the expo. A cup of tea or coffee and fill a plate with whatever you want. They did have a plate for donations, but I don't think too many people were making a donation. I did, but later when I went for another cuppa and bite of food I didn't.

I spent a bit of time talking to people I knew. I think the day was too much for me as yesterday I was so weary I spent most of the day sleeping! As we have now gone into daylight 'saving' time I took half a sleeping pill last night, so hope I will be ok today, not sleeping the day away.

I must go and change 3 or 4 clocks. I hate all this nonsense.

Hi girls, hope you are all alright today. Just wondering if anyone has had more news about Marilyn......sending her lots of hugs and positive thoughts.

Mo, well done to you and your team for winning on Thursday night....keep the winning streak up.

You are brave going to the dentist.....I'm absolutely terrified of going there, I have done since I was a child.

Alun and I went to Derby today just for one or two things that we needed to get and ended up buying another eight Christmas presents, so very pleased with that. I didn't even go into any of the craft shops, which is very good for me.lol!!!

Jean, it sounds as though the eBossser is really good, it's nice that you had the large embossing folder free. I was lookingat the A4 embossing folders in the Range, they were between ten and twelve pounds to buy.

We took the daylight craft lamp back to HobbyCraft as the switch was broken, so we had our money back as it was £95.......I thought that at that price it should have been perfect.......I have sent for one online now and it is almost half the price of HobbyCraft.

Ann nice to know that you and T are safely home and that you had a good holiday.

Sylvia, hope all went well at the hospital for your sister in law. I'm sure that it was nice having her to stay. I expect you are now getting ready for your friends visit.
Enjoy their company.

Huia, I hope that you are feeling a lot better from your cold now......hope you managed to get into town and enjoyed the outing.

I'll say goodnight to you all now.

Take care.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Morning friends, just had our flu jabs, and Jeff has had a shingles jab also. its something they are doing for the 79,years old so my turn next year....
he has to watch that if any pimples appear round it if so you must not come in contact with littlies, so we are hoping it wont happen,

Yes Sallie I have used the new machine and its great no turning of handles, but you do need plenty of room it takes large dies or folders in fact I was suprised to find a large embossing folder in the pack , it does a nice deep design, just need to get used to the various thickness of the dies, although the instruction book is very clear to read... wish I had got it before I cleared out my craft room, but new stuff is always coming out so who knows what I may get up to..... ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Mo , glad to hear you are doing so well at the darts, but you kept it quiet so didint get my £50 bet on :-( :-( :-( I may not bother with it anymore , and heres me thinking you are my bestest mate...... :-0 :-0

hope you all have a good weekend and sunshine.... ~~~~~~ to Ann always nice to see you are back safe and sound.....

love to all home and away Jean xxx <3 <3

Mo, we went to HobbyCraft in Nottingham earlier today, I bought myself a daylight craft lamp, but when Alun opened this evening the lamp was broken, so had to take it back. We decided to go round to Jennie's on the way home which meant coming out of Nottingham a different way. All the signs were up ready for Goose Fair and also the very large model of the duck that stands on the island on Mansfield Rd.
Alun and I don't go to it anymore, but will probably have a walk round the Ilkeston Fair, always love the atmosphere of it.

Yes, the local fairs around the country are very popular with the local people.

Jean, hope you are okay. Have you been using your eBosser today? Is it easy to use? I haven't done any cards at all today, I have a problem with some neck and shoulder pain, so I haven't been able to use the GC. Hope it will be better tomorrow.

Let's hope that you will get some dry weather while you are away, it will be nice for you to be able to have a walk to the craft shop.

Well, I'll say goodnight now. speak to you all tomorrow.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Oh my lord Jean, just you be careful going round the craft shop when you are on your hols, your three wheeler bag can take so much stuff, you may end up spending more than you intend to, plus take care when walking around that you don't knock things off the shelves, or J will end up by walking away in disgust, just as Roly did when I pushed the shopping trolley into a stack of beans in the supermarket, he pretended I wasn't with him. :-D :-D :-D
Isn't listening to little ones giggle infectious, we always end up with tears running down our faces when our babies are around us, but they brighten up our lives don't they.

Sallie, it was a team game at darts last night, and Jean would be proud of us, as we won. Don't tell her though will you, coz rumour has it that she forgot to place her bet on us winning. lol It must have been your best wishes that helped us along to our win, and guess who was second to top average, yes good old me.
I would love to be able to go to the Nottingham goose fair and also Ilkeston fair. We have a Christmas Fair in the grounds of Rochester Castle in December, it's not that big, but it is very popular with the locals.
Our future son in law comes from Nottingham, and our daughter goes up there to visit quite frequently, so she will probably be up there at the time of the fair, lucky girl.

Bye for now girls, take care, hugs Mo xxx

Hi girls,

Jean you made me laugh when you said that you would have to go to Craftland in Llandudno after all.lol!!! I'm sure that J will lbe really chuffed about that, as would Alun. I don't think.lolol!!! Is Craftland very far from where you are staying?

We have been to Derby today, Alun bought himself a new pair of casual trousers. Had a nice few hours out and had our lunch there too. I didn't buy very much today, just a few bits from one of the craft shops, there.

Jean, I know that the Range doesn't stock many dies at all...... HobbyCraft is a bit better than the Range, they also stock the Stephanie Weightman dies, which are nice.
There will be no stopping you now that you have your new cutter.....sure it is much easier than turning a handle.lol!!!

0

Mo, are you playing in a team tonight or with just you and your friend. Whichever, I hope you will win .....sending you lots of vibes and positive thoughts for tonight.

As you said Mo, you can tell we re heading towards winter now......it seems we are having to put the lights on a bit earlier each evening. Around this area, we have two Fairs in October, next Thursday it is the Nottingham Goose Fair and two weeks after that we have the Ilkeston Fair. With the Ilkeston Fair most of the town centre is closed off for five days because the rides and the stalls are set up on the market place and quite a few of the streets.
Having the two fairs is a sure sign that we are almost into winter and Chritmas isn't far away too.

Huia, I hope that your power is all sorted now and that you won't have anymore trouble with it.
I'll have a look at your photos when I have finished on GR, I'm sure that they are interesting to look at.

Sylvia, hope that your SiL have arrived safely and that all will go well at the hospital for her.

Ann, I am wondering if you and T are home yet. If so, hope that you had a good journey.

Marie, hope that you and your family are all okay as we haven't heard from you for a while.

Well, as usual I am now going to have my usual cuppa....if they took tea off the market I don't know how I would manage without it, as I don't like coffee, I'd really be stuck.lolol!!

Will speak to you all tomorrow.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello folks, Sylvia, you will have some fun with your littlie I am sure, we have just seen a video S took on his phone of our C and I have never seen such a little one laugh as much as he did, we roared with laughter, his daddy was doing something with a cushion it seems and C thought it hilarious , he couldnt stop laughing, which set us off too....
Guess who is going on her hols in October, MEEEEEEEEEEE and him, back to Llandudno different place , but so looking forward to it.... just need an Indian summer to round the year off...

hope you are all well,,,,,. Sallie I tried the new cutter and its fantastic, although you do need a lot of room, but no turning of handles...we went to Range and there were no dies at all.
which was a surprise, so it looks like I may have to go to the craft shop in Llandudno.... :-D :-D :-D

Oh my giddy aunt, whats happening on here. I lost my posting, then found that it had posted three times on here. Let me try again shall I.

Huia, I hope you are feeling better now my love.
I shall have to pop onto FB, and take a look at your photo's.
Had the pine trees been loostened by all the rain you had, do you think. Very inconvenient losing the power like that, but thats nature for you isn't it.

I can't believe it's only 6.45 and we will have to put the lights on in a minute, it's getting dark so early now. A sure sign that the winter is almost on us, but it has been very warm here today, so unusual for this time of year.

Must go now girls, time to get ready for darts.
Take care of yourselves one and all. Love Mo xxx

Sylvia, it sounds like you are going to be really busy for a while, but I know full well that you will enjoy the company, especially little man coming to see you. It's been ages since you last saw him isn't it. At least you will have young one for a week, to shower him with love and hugs.
Will you be travelling to visit them at christmas this year?

Huia Report 26 Sep 2013 04:14

A couple of nights ago the power went out, just before a TV programme that I had wanted to watch. :-| I spent a couple of hours or so reading by torchlight then went to bed. Yesterday afternoon after I had been to town I decided to go up our road to the top of the hill to see if I could see what had caused the power outage. Just a very short distance up the road from our place, I found that a couple of huge pine trees that had been growing on the bank had come down and taken 2 of the 3 power lines out. I took lots of photos (now on FB).

Today the linesmen came to repair the lines and I took lots of photos of them at work. At least they didn't turn our power off while they did it. :-)

Hi Mo, and everyone

Thank you for the good wishes ................... I think I am finally back to almost normal. Several different things went wrong one after the other, and each one took time to get better!

Mo ..... thank you for letting us know about Marilyn. I've only spoken to her occasionally, but one never wants to hear about ovarian cancer.

Jean ....... best wishes to your goddaughter

Mo ........... hope the cyst continues to be nothing. xx

I'm going to be at sixes and sevens for the next 10 days or so.

I have no idea when I will be able to get on here.

Sis-i-l arrives about 8 pm this evening, goes for her test tomorrow, then leaves on Friday morning

We then have to set the room up for daughter and grandson, whose plane arrives at 11:30 pm that evening

Other friends arrive at about 11:30 pm Saturday evening ............. so we have to set up the hide-a-bed in this room, where I have the computer.

They'll leave after lunch on Sunday

Daughter and grandson leave on Friday evening next week.

sooooooooooooooooooooooooo .........................

if you sees me, you sees me :-D :-D :-D

don't worry!

take care everyone

I haven't been chatting on the boards very much, I go through spells when I read threads but just don't add to them. I have also had a nasty cold which has really flattened me. I spent several days just lying on the settee sleeping all morning and most of the afternoon, although I did make sure I drank lots of water. I am not completely over it yet, but I should be next week. You will hear my screams if I am still coughing and blowing my nose then. This weather doesn't help. There has been steady rain for quite a few days now. I think I will go to town today to wander around, just to get out of the house. Last Saturday I was stir-crazy from being stuck in the house on my own with the cold.

Mo, pleased that you have had your appointment through for the result of your scan. Like you said, if the cyst had grown and they thought there was problem, then I'm sure that they would have seen you well before now.

Let's hope that it won't be too long before you get an appointment through to see the breast specialist and that it is nothing to worry about. What shall we do with you Mo.lol!!!

Hope that you hear from Marilyn soon, hope and pray that she will make a good recovery.

I think that Ann is due home tomorrow, I'm sure that her and T have been away
a month, but of course I might be wrong.lol!!!

Jean, sorry I didn't realise that your goddaughter had had a mastectomy and a reconstruction......I hope that she will make a complete recovery. Sending her lots of positive thoughts.

Hope that you and J can get into Llandudno for a week or so, the change will do you both the world of good.

I'm sure you feel a lot better for having your hair done. I only have mine cut, but feel so much better when it's done. I'm hoping to have mine trimmed on Thursday, while I'm in Derby....the girl that cuts my hair for me goes on holiday in two weeks time, so thought I had better have it trimmed before she goes.

Sylvia, as I said on Shaun's thread, you are going to have a busy time with all your visitors next week....it will be lovely to see them all, especially littlie.

Marie and Huia, I hope that you and your families are all okay. It seems a while since we last heard from you both.

Well, I need a cuppa now so had better go and make one.lol!!

Speak to you all later.
