Mo in Kent Report 5 Oct 2013 20:13

So Sallie, if you go missing for a couple of days, we will know that you are engrossed in your Kindle, or trying to comprehend it. Now if I had one, it would take me about six months to understand it, and in that amount of time I could have read at least two dozen books lol. Enjoy yourself my love, and read loads of books.
Fancy Alun having to wait right through till the 28th of the month for an appointment. You are right, that should it start to grow, an emergency app would be appropriate.

My friend Florence had her echo cardiogramme done today, and her heart beat is still high, so Monday will tell, if they hopefully do her operation.
I was told that they could give her an injection to slow the heart beat, but I am not sure about that.

I hope our dear friends Jean, Marie, Sylvia and Huia are all well.

Bye for now my lovelies, love to you all. Mo xxx

Sallie Report 4 Oct 2013 20:34

Hi girls, thank you Ann, Mo and Huia for your concern about Alun's ear........he made an appointment this evening to see the doctor we usually see, only trouble is that the
appointment isn't until 28th October, which is three weeks on Monday. We will keep a close eye on whatever it is and if it looks as though it has grown we will have to try and get an emergency app.

Yes I bought a Kindle today, so now I will have to get use to it.lol!! Not very good on all this new technology stuff......if that's what you call it.lol!!
I got the Kindle Fire HD, Alun, Jennie and Michael came with me to PC World in Derby, and they all seemed to think that that was the one to have....we shall see.lol!!!

When we had finished at PC World, we decided to go to Little Eaton garden centre,( which isn't far from there) just for a coffee and tea, but ended up having an early lunch there instead.....so we all had a nice morning out.

Ann hope that you and T will enjoy the weekend with your daughter and son-in-law, and that the weather will be better over the next couple of days than it has been, lately.

Mo, I hope and pray that the hospital will be able to get your friend sorted out very soon. I will be thinking about her on Monday.

Well done on your win last night, we are all proud of you.....keep going so that you win all or most games of the season.

Jean, the eBosser sounds really great, so much easier and quicker than the GC.
I think I will probably have to get one eventually, especially if my shoulder and arm will keep playing up.

I bought two Marianne dies and one Cheery Lynn die. One is a window die that only came out on Wednesday and the other Marianne die is Passe-partpot Square, if you look on CraftsULove you will be able to see them both.....the other die is just a Merry Christmas on it.

Huia, hope that your cough and cold sore are much better by now. Hope Phil is not too bad.

Marie, if you are looking in, hope all is well with you and your family.

I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Good evening girls,
Jean, get round to that bookies now my love, you must pick up your winnings. Ye Ha, we won, and I won my singles game, so Jean, you will be most proud of me.
The holiday fund is going up for you both. xxx
It's briiliant news about your G.Daughter, I am pleased for you all.

Sallie, please get Aluns ear checked out. My dear friend had a sore up her nosrtil, and saw her doctor, who prescribed an anti-biotic cream.
A week later she had to go back and see him because the thing had started to grow.
She went to the hospital, where they did a biopsy on the growth, and she was told that the results would be back 6/8 weeks later.
The next week, the blessed thing had grown even more, and she was put on pain killers.
To cut a long story short, she has now been told she has a form on skin cancer up her nose, and she can't breathe through her nostrils as it has spread so badly.
She is due to go into hospital on monday, for what they say, is another biopsy.
I hope and pray they take the darned thing away completely, then do the biopsy.
This should have all been sorted weeks ago, as she has been suffering for nearly 8 weeks now.
They have got to do an MRI and CAT scan to see how far it has spread. I hope and pray it has not reached up as far as her brain.
So, please please Sallie, get Alun checked out, and perstist till they get a decision as to what it is.

Ann, my mum had a rodent ulcer on her face, and had to have it removed. Not a nice proceedure for someone in their 80's to have to undergo, when they have dementia, and don't understand whats happening to them.

Sallie, did you get your Kindle honey? I hope your shoulder and arm are feeling better today, and you can get round to using your GC.

Huia, I don't eat toffees for fear of losing my fillings. You were taking a chance in eating a gummy sweet, but I bet you were enjoying it till you lost the filling. :-D look thats my teeth at the moment lol

Sorry if I have been sounding off tonight girls, but I feel so frustrated for my dear friend Floence, and hope and pray they can sort her out on Monday.

Sending <3 <3 <3 for Marilyn.

Love and hugs to you all, Mo xxx

Sallie, I meant to say, alan should get that looked at in case it is a rodent ulcer. It does say that one of the places common for men to get them is on the ears.

Morning everyone, hope its fine were you are, it was a awful day yesterday, and today doesnt look any different still its early so fingers crossed it will clear up.....

Sallie I have my e-bosser permantly on the top of the drawers and with plenty of room for the thick plates to run through it is a heavy machine so not easy to put away , I dont need to move it, it is A4 size so big dies go through easily , it is great to do a lot of dies or embossing folders at one time. like I said before the instruction book is very clear to follow.... its worth a look on you tube there are loads of info and tutorials.I have just done some A6 size cards with embossed border, it is a new folder..... which new dies did you get? I keep looking to see if there are any I would like but not really looking to buy lots of stuff again....Does Hobby Craft do demos it would be handy if you could try it first I think the weight of it would put many off......all i can say is I love it and its very good....

love Jean xx

edit I nearly forgot to tell you all our goddaughter went to see the consultant yesterday, for test results and she is clear of all the cancer, still has to have chemo to be sure there is none lingering . but she is fine now....thanks for your thoughts and prayers.....

Ann, just seen your reply, thanks for that bit of information. Yes Jennie mentioned the touch screen to me, and although she hasn't got a Kindle herself she seems to think that I would be okay with the touch screen.

Thanks Ann,

Love, Sallie.xxx

Huia Report 3 Oct 2013 21:57

Sallie, you tell Alun from me that he should go to the doc with that thing on his ear. Phil had one and the doc wanted to have it removed but he said no (I wasn't with him). It just got worse and was bleeding a lot. I got sick and tired of his bloody pillowcases so took him back to the doc. He had to have a chunk taken off the top of his ear. I am not sure what sort of thing it was, some sort of cancer, but it was probably a benign one, apart from the fact that it kept bleeding.

AnninGlos Report 3 Oct 2013 21:22

Sallie, I have the old style kindle, the newer ones have a touch screen I think. Son in law has a touch screen and says it is fine. I think the kindle fire seems to be good. You could go on the kindle thread on hobbies board and ask the question though. :-)

Hello girls,

Mo, wonderful news, thank goodness for that, I am so pleased for you. I hope that no news of Marilyn is good news. Thinking about her and hoping that she will make a good recovery.

Enjoy your darts match tonight and hope that you and your team will win. Good Luck.

Jean, you are doing well with making cards, there is no stopping you.lol!! I haven't made any today, still got a slight problem with my shoulder.

Glad to hear that your goddaughter is now clear of cancer.......let's hope that it will never, ever come back.

I posted on Michael's thread earlier on, only ever ' spoken ' to him a few times, he seems very nice. I hope and pray that his wife will make a good and complete recovery.

Bought some new dies while we were in Derby this morning, just hope that my arm and shoulder will be up to using the GC tomorrow.lol!!

Ann, if I remember rightly, you have a Kindle. I'm thinking about getting one myself and was wondering what you thought about them.....if they are easy to use and worth the money. As I only have small hands I am finding it uncomfortable to hold a book with 600+ pages for any length of time, so thought the Kindle might solve the problem. Jennie is taking me to look at them tomorrow, so I wonder could you give me any advice on which one might be the best, please.

I'm also toying with the idea of getting the eBosser, thinking that it would be better and easier to use, if my shoulder is going to keep playing up. Although to be honest I really like the GC and wouldn't like to get rid of it. I shall have to thing about it.

Alun, has something on his ear it looks similar to a wart, I want him to make an
appointment to see the doctor but he doesn't seem too bothered about it. I'm worried in case it's a rodent ulcer and think it would be better to check it out.

Huia, hope that your cold sore and cough will soon be gone, so that you can sort your teeth sorted out.

Well I'm going to make myself a cuppa now, Alun is out at the Model Railway Club tonight and won't be home until almost eleven.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

Take care everyone,].

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello girls,
Well I am pleased to say that I am fit and well.
The specialist wanted me to have a mammogram, but when I went for it, I was asked when my last one was done, and when I said I only had one done in April this year, they wouldn't do it. So, I had ultra sound scan done instead, and nothing showed up as abnormal, thank the lord.
The specialist couldn't understand why my G.P had sent me to him, and has just said NOT to take anymore anti-biotics for it.
The pain is apparantly normal, but more normal in people who are starting he menopause, and not those of us who have been there, done that ,and bought the T/Shirt.
The suggestion is that I start taking evening primrose oil tablets, but I did that before the menopause, and found that it didn't help.
Oh well, now I know, and will endure the discomfort, knowing that when my mid cycle has passed, the pain will go away. lol Oh those were the days mid cycle ovulation, yuk. :-D :-D :-D

Thank you all for thinking of me today, bless you all.

I am afraid I have no more news on Marilyn, other than what Pauline told us the other day on the friendlies thread.

Oh dear look at the time, I haven't even had time to respond to what has been posted by you all. Must get ready for darts now girls, speak to you tomorrow.
Love and hugs Mo xxx

Mo , do let us know what has gone on today..............., my goddaughter has been told she is clear of cancer now , still has to to have chemo to make doubly sure. so thats good news....

please add to the thread from micheal his wife is going through what Jeff had two years ago, so really needs a lot of prayers just as everyone did for Jeff....

love to everyone Jean xx

Yes was wondering that Mo, how did it go?

Poor Marilyn, I have been thinking about her too. How horrid after she was having such a lovely retirement with spending time in USA etc.

Sallie, take care of that shoulder, give it a rest, muscles get easier to stiffen as we get older. repetitive movement won't help, like cutting with th GC.

Hope you are getting on ok with your new wonder machine Jean.

Huia, like me you won't have many teeth left soon. Phil was probably well medicated when you saw hi,. saves him getting agitated so probably just as well for him, if not for you. Hope you can get rid of that cough soon and the cold sore, they are horrid things aren't they?

Huia Report 3 Oct 2013 01:21

I went to the dentist yesterday as one of the fillings she did a few months ago had come out when I was eating a gummy sweet. I decided to have the tooth out, and replaced on my partial plate, but not until next Wed. as I still have a bit of a cough and a nasty cold sore on my bottom lip.

I then went to visit Phil, but he had his eyes shut most of the time. Whenever he did open his eyelids his eyes were rolled up, so he didn't really see me.

This morning I did a bit of pruning of trees and shrubs down our drive so I must be feeling better than I did a week ago, although when I came back in I lay down on the settee and slept for 2 hours.

Ooooh, found this thread down on page five. Sorry I haven't been on here for couple of, had a touch of the ' old black dog ' , but better now thank goodness.

Mo, good luck with your appointment at the breast clinic tomorrow morning. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Do you know what you are going to get for Zoey and Gracie for Christmas?
We were in Asda, doing the usual weekly shop this evening, when Janet bought a pressie for her ten year old granddaughter, it was a Monster High School doll.....she was pleased that she could get it as it's only just come out, so that's one pressie sorted for her.

Hope things are going along alright for Marilyn, and that she isn't suffering too much pain. Thinking about her and sending her lots of positive thoughts. If she gets in touch with you Mo, please could you pass on my get well wishes to her.

Jean, I was thinking about you earlier today as I was doing some cutting and embossing on the Grand Calibre......both my right arm and shoulder were aching like mad, and was thinking how easy you said the eBosser is to use. It's these bones and muscles of mine that are getting old and creaky.lol!!

Have you made anymore cards over the last few days? I did made some today first time an about a week, as not been able to concentrate on making them, but I think I'm back on track now.

I got my new crafting light with a daylight bulb in it today, I have wanted one for a good while but wasn't sure which one would be the best. Michael got me one online, which is very much like the one I took back to HobbyCraft because it was broken. Haven't tried it yet, but might try it when I finish on here,

Huia, hope you are now well over your cold. I expect you have been busy at the shop.
Hope that you have managed to put the photos on FB and that they have turned out okay.
How is Phil doing these days? Hope he is getting along as best as he can.

Sylvia, hope you have enjoyed your few days with your visitors? Is it next Monday that your daughter and grandson arrive or have I got it wrong? Enjoy yourselves.

Marie, hope everything is okay with you and your family. We haven't heard from you for a while, so hope there are no problems

GOOD LUCK again for tomorrow Mo.

Take care everyone.

Will speak to you all tomorrow.
