Hey - have just read that Lorraine is back - Excellent!

I was sorry I missed all the lovely Sunday roasts - crispy roasters yummy, any meat will do be thanks, oh except pork, not too keen on roast pork. Strawberry and cream now you're talking! Bloomin starving now, will have to heat up the bolognaise I have done in a minute lol.

Stray hairs! Yes I have one that insists on coming back, nay I have two, forgot the one under my chin that snook in about 2 years ago. I have a very tiny mole on my chin on my right side, which insists on flourishing now and again, the other day wondered what was tickling me and realised I had not trimmed it for a while, in fact it needs it again! OH says I have a moustache - I told him nonsense! How very dare he say me, a ladieeeee, has a moustache. Just because I have very dark brown hair - nearing on black, my hair shows up, (might have to consider bleaching)! At this rate I will have more hair on my face than other places! PMSL

Right think I have caught up with all the goss. lol

Tina xx

EDIT: Helen, OH is just tooooooooooooooo boooorrrrrrrrrring to do anything interesting like that, plus he has no idea how to switch a 'puter on let alone use one. I did try and teach him, but he gave up! Will have to try again I think. Get him on games. He has this idea that he might press the wrong button and end up on a porn site or such like! I told him even if he did just quickly come back out again, but its very unlikely as my security is on high and should not get any unsavouryness popping up. Although I once googled channel 4 and just put C4 - got semtex explosives site! Quickly came off that I can tell you, never know who is watching what you are logging onto! Had visions of squad cars screeching outside the front door and men in black invading! lol :)))

Now and again I look up and say, *would you like a cuppa*, oh that would be nice he would say .........but its always me that goes and puts the kettle on !

Well I have to say its ruddy well cold and I have just put my fire on.

Helen
talking of holidays,
First year dad was on his own we decided we would take him to the South of France with us , we rented a Villa , both daughters were with us too.
so we got one with a swimming pool.
we had the idea of a villa because there would be just us , not like a hotel where there's lots of people and if dad wanted to get up in the night, then he would only be disturbing us. also we could cook our own meals at the time we wanted suitable for the girls to.
Anyway(this holiday was before we reconised dad had dementia) He complained about the food all the time , we cooked through the day, and went out for evening meals, because I wanted to see the area and of course you want to dress up a bit,
He would wander off on his own if we didn't watch him , we spent the whole time watching him,and not the kids.
I could'nt get any peace to wander round the shops on my own , he followed me around like a puppy even though OH tried to keep him busy.
and at night when we sat by the pool enjoying a glass of wine he kept going round the villa checking windows ,doors about a dozen times a night.
It was a nightmare. at the airport on our way home he would'nt ssettle and wait till we ready for the plane kept wanted to walk around and see the shops. that was when we decided it was time to go and see the doctor.

Going back to whiskers...mum used to have her chin waxed right up till the age of 82/83.!!!!! She was very particular about her appearance.

Jane

Jane Report 4 May 2009 15:59

The weather is pants( as I think they say nowadays) lol.Have just put the heating on!!
I remember doing the photos thing with Mum to pass the time I could not have any sensible conversations with her any longer. It was quite enjoyable as she would talk about the people in the photos, especially her old school pals and long lost rellies.I would also get her holiday Albums out but she she would say well I know I must have been there because I am in the pictures but I can't remember going there. In 2000 Mum my sister and I went on a Med Cruise. It was very hard going for us as Mum had no idea where we were and we daren't take ours eyes of her for a second. The morning we left the ship I found her in tears as she thought someone had stolen all her belongings. We had to put the cases outside the cabin doors the evening before.I explained that we were going home, but she thought we had just arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Familysearcher.
yes it's hard work. looking after the elderly.
I have a friend at work she's about 40ish, I have known her for the last 10 years, anyway she and her partner have 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy, eldest girl is about 12 and her name is Daisy.
daughter no 2 is 10 and her name is Poppy, and when she was expecting her last child ,all her friends teased her and said if it's another girl are you going to call it Rosie, but it turned out to be a boy and they named him Sonny, even then we thought it a strange name calling your son Sonny.

Just think back a long time ago the older generation used to say"Come here sonny " or whats your name sonny and his reply would be sonny.

Hello to familysearcher (Lorraine ,nice to meet you.)

Hi Pam, Helen, Marilyn.
Being a hoiliday monday there's no day care for dad, so he's at a lost end, so I decided when he called to get all his old photo albums out and we have spent the last 40mins going through them.
when He comes down again in about an hours time or could be less. I will just keep showing them again. It's better than the going over the same old questions or the deathly silence we have.

I now have the idea of going on Amazon and buying some books with lots of pictures showing the old days from his home town . He has no concentration left to read novels or cowboys storries any more but like all dementia sufferer's he will look at pictures books.

I have tried other books from other counties . but because he does'nt reconise the places he gets board very quickly.

Morning all, good to see you back Lorraine.

Glad you've informed them all Marilyn!

Helen, my en suite (i'm very posh u know!) is only used by me and my daughter, I don't let my hubby use it. I have a miniature library in there almost and all sorts of pots of creams and potions for moisturising, fake tanning and exfoliating ...generally all feminine and nice. We don't allow 'man smells' in there!

We had a lovely day on the broads yesterday, lucky with the weather too. ☼

Got company coming in a while, so be back later...got to trim me whiskers!!! LOL!

Pam. ☺ xx

Sorry, I thought I had made it clear. The lady was left in the lobby of the mortuary until morning, unrefrigerated.
