I can remember mum used to have a jam jar outside with a little jam round the top to attract the wasps and water in the bottom, so once they got in for the jam they then went down in the water and could'nt get out

I'm not keen on spiders, but will only shout for the calvery when they are the size of a 50p, if there little ones I take a newspaper & old glass and scoop it up and put it out first open door or window.
same with bee's or wasps, Both my girls have been stung before and when a wasp comes into view, it's murder in our back garden in the summer at meal times, both jump up & scream and run around waving arms, which is the worst thing to do.
SIL is the murder in our family. swats, stamps on , swears. and I stand and shout" don't kill it."

I pick spiders up with a feather duster and deposit them in the garden.
Have had a good week getting rid of unwanted goods on Freecycle. Meet some nice people too.

Do you know you can go quickly off people ARCTIC BLONDE! LOL

I think I will be taking the vacuum upstairs with me, ready plugged in!

There has been a huge spider in my bathroom, hiding behind the pipes. Last night it came out and was on the wall behind the loo, I can tell you I was not sitting pretty or comfortable at all. All through the night I wondered where the blighter was. I still dont know where its gone and I have been "crawling" all day thinking about it!

Helen
Because there was 6 and a half years between my two daughter's no 1 daughter was jealous of no 2 .
no 1 daughter would watch no 2 trying to walk and stick her feet out so no 2 daughter would trip up.
In the beginning we thought because no 2 was learning she was always falling. we did'nt catch on till one day we were all sitting talking when all the attention was on no 2 daughter . you know when you say "come on clever girl " and you hold your arms out , well no 2 started to walk and no 1 daughter stuck out her foot and OH caught her doing it.

mind you, no 2 daughter to this day is very clumsy , allways in a rush.
she's the one we used to get called up to school about , had a fall in play ground, banged head in coatroom on the pegs one day, knocked her self out. slid down the slide on her tummy and split her chin open.
she was always more adventurous than no 1 daughter

Jane Report 10 May 2009 18:46

Hi ladies
I'm on late tonight asI've had a busy day. seeing that no2 daughter was here.I decided to have a break from church & a day away from dad. so OH said it's about time you did something for yourself for a change so we went out for the day off down to the garden centre's were we bought some Begonia's for my planter's. all the daffs & primroses have died, and it was time to repot again, it was lovley as the weather was warm , the sun was out ,only had 1 small shower and OH treated us to our lunch. bought a couple of little things for my new grandchild to be. (Can't resist) and got back about 3.00 just in time to replant my pots before the rest of the family came for dinner,
Had an early meal as OH had to take no 2 daughter back home.
Hope everyone has had a nice day.

I have given up having arguments over mess. When my son went back to uni yesterday,I took a deep breath and went into his room expecting a bomb site.
It was totally clear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.It just needs a good dusting and hoovering.
He lived like a pig in muck while he was home though.I have a few weeks grace before he is back for the summer.
OH said about painting over the red wine stains on the wall.I said don't bother as by the end of the summer there are bound to be a few more lol

Tina I don't I will bother looking up pictures of the Wolf Spider.If I don't see,then I won't worry .

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME!

MARILYN DONT GOOGLE WOLF SPIDER - THEY ARE HUGHMONGUS.

I had to quickly take it off the screen. No very pleasing. Gosh, I dread to think that AC's OH's eye looked like.

*Shudders* even more now. I could not even read where it came from, as they showed too many pictures of the blessed thing.

I will try again.

EDIT - Was hoping they were a foreign spider, oh no, the live in the UK as well.

Morning to you all.
I was up just before 6(unheard normally) and came down to check Chester and let him out to do whatever. Then I went back to bed and read my book and snoozed a little more.
Now have a bit of lamb in the oven mmmm it smells good ,and as it is such a summery day have decided to do new potatoes instead of roast. We will eat outside I think.
What is a wolf spider? It sounds like it might be one from another country.I bet the eyelid swelled up badly..
I wish we could send sound,as the garden is just full of birdsong at the moment.I love it.

Morning All,

Well I have just risen !!

Not a bad day today.......A bit over cast,
So looking forward today of no visitors !!

Tina I am terrified of spiders too, I cant even pick up a child's rubber one that they have, all of which my grandchildren have ,and tend to put on my chair before I sit down.....I just scream,I really mean it.
In September when the big ones come in the house for heat I always count about 9 or 10 then that's about the end of them for the year
Hubby is the spider catcher..LOL
Thats when I like going away .
I suppose I ought to get cracking for my bath, then do some HW then flake out !!
Hope you all have a grand day.
