Hello all
back from hairdressers, (I think I spelt it right this time.)
when getting my hair washed I kept thinking about our conversation about strokes, my feet kept dangling and I ask the girl to put the chair up as high as it would go. still got a sore kneck though and water down my top.
but feel much better now that I look tidy again. colour & cut for £32,
Annx, I slither to the end of the chair to I keep my eyes closed all the time as they have a big light right over the basin it's like being at the dentist or in operating theatre. weather was windy but no rain.

Keeping fingers crossed for your daughter Jane hope all goes well for her interview.

I'm filling myself up with food today as from 9.00 tonight I have to fast,
got to see the nurse at 8.50 tomorrow morning, so they can go through blood Test, collestral, weight, urine, blood preasure the lot to find out if I really have Chronic Kidney Disease, which I will find out in another few days when the blood test comes back.

Hi Everyone,

Glad everything turned out ok Pam......must be a relief. Belated happy birthday.....lots of nice pressies?

Jane you do have a nice telephone voice......very well-spoken I would say.

I hate those basins at the hairdressers too and had read about the stroke risk a few years back. I find myself trying not to bend my neck back so end up slithering towards the edge of the seat. I have back ache then instead!!
Hope its finally sunny and dry when you come out of the hairdressers Fiona, nothing worse than stepping out with your freshly done hair into wind and rain is there!

Well, back to the jobs!!

Bless her Jane, I do hope she gets on ok. If not, its good interview experience :))

Doctor wont up the medication as he is worried about it affecting my electrolytes, which in turn can affect my epilepsy, which I understand. But more of the same tablets and they are now added to my repeat prescription - so on them for a while then ! I am not allowed any tea or coffee or fruit juice after 7.30 and am to raise my legs to aid the flow of fluid from off my legs. That will restrict what I do of an evening. Wont be able to sit at my desk with my laptop nattering!

Found it is quite warm outside despite the dullness of it all.

Have just eaten two cakes - could not help myself. lol Well, better have a cuppa then before the 7.30 watershed!

*now where is the pint mug in the cupboard.........*

Just quickly popping back. Have got an appointment with GP about my water tablets - they have run out and he wants to see me as it was a trial for my night time walkabouts to the loo. They have improved the situation I must admit, I am hoping he will up the dose as I am still getting out 3 times of a night.

Will let you know how I get on later.

The people who come from Edinburgh have a softer accent than some one who was born say in Glasgow, infact, I have lived here nr Glasgow for 20 years and when I go into the city to shop , I find sometimes it is difficult to understand, it's a harsh accent.
The Park you mention is called Princes Street Gardens.
I go into Edinburgh every 2 months with the family history society to do research at New Registrar House.
I'm off now to get my coffee, and something to eat
BBL with my new hair do.

Fiona

Fiona Report 27 May 2009 21:42

I love the cornish accent Jane, When holidaying nr Lizkeard on the farm when I was little , I would ask my auntie Mary(mums friend not real auntie)
to sing she was in the local church choir and we used to go with the family to church every sunday while we were visiting , she had a lovely voice.

I sometimes wonder if she is still alive , I have a feeling she may not be as when my mum died the letters stopped, and her family never kept intouch,The christmas cards stopped too.

Sorry had an argument with OH who is watching Minder and he said a character in there was Charlie from Eastenders and I said no it was not. I was right - but then I always am lolol

Fiona

Fiona Report 27 May 2009 21:00

yes Jane
you have a really nice friendly voice on the phone, I hate to hear my voice when I listen to a vidio or dvd with my voice on. It comes over real wearsider, but we people who come from the north east of England speak very fast.
since daughter no 2 moved down to Galashiels she has picked up abit of the accent and sometimes I don't understand what she says. even though she was born in England but was 2 when we came up to scotland
she has always sounded scottish.
OH comes from Lancashire , I don't hear his accent much only when he is speaking to his relatives on the phone is it noticeable.

SIL used to use 4 letter words like Shi!!!! when we first met him because thats the way all the students spoke at uni so he thought that was the normal way of speaking, but over the last 5 years his lanuage has greatly improved and no 1 daughter only has to correct him ocasionally especially when he say's a local place name, he speaks very good English now.
my grandchild will learn to speak 2 lanuages, Italian at home, and english
at grans and at school. my OH has been learning Italian for quite a few years now and is good at it.
