I had to laugh as last Friday I had to go and see the consultant about my water works...which is a little leaky.... and one of the questions was, is it worse after when you have sex ? What said I, am 65 yrs we don't divulge in such activities... LOL he was only about 35yrs ......not sure if it was a compliment or what !!............ trouble was he's younger than my sons.

Anyway as Jane says who's James Purefoy ??

Evening all
would you believe I had to come in because I was getting goosepimples.
the sun has gone behind the nieghbours house and there's now a cooler breeze, we had the BBQ going and that kept me warm for a short while.
OH away tomorrow not back till friday great!!!! all the bed to myself for 2 nights in a row.

Been up to the Drs today and have got a perscription for pills to lower my Cholestral, 1 to be taken a night, hope they do the trick and keep my kidney's in check back to drs in 6 weeks time to see how I'm getting along.

our two cats live in separate rooms and have had a fan on in each for the last couple of days, they love it. Got the idea from a garden centre where they had a fan on for the rabbits and guinea pigs.

Yes now calm down Jane!!

Actually my friend made me laugh the other week, she was saying how her hubby always gets a bit more 'interested' in it during the hot weather and i had to agree with her as I think it's true. My take on it is...blokes see lots of females in hotter weather in a more undressed state (example) lots more strappy tops and more boobs etc. on show, so they feel more horny. But i remember reading a quote by a star who'd been happily married for years and she said about her hubby, "I don't care where he gets his appetite from...just so long as he eats at home!" I'll go along with that! As hubby was James Purefoy the other night with the lights off!!

Back later!!

Pam. ☺ ☺ ☺

PS He didn't know he was James Purefoy...☺

PPS Wonder who he was thinking of!!!! ha ha!

Hi ladies, thought I'd just pop in before my tea.

That made me laugh Ann the bit when you said about his testimonials showing!!

That sounds a good bed Fiona!

Tina glad yoiu had a good sleep! Yes it was lovely in the bed all by myself...I must admit if hubby falls asleep on the sofa which he does quite frequently, I don't try 'to hard' to wake him! He comes up about 3 or 4 in the morning sometimes and I don't even know he's there!! Be honest girls I can take critisism...is that bad of me??!!

Back later on.

Pam ☺

PS Hubby fitted a ceiling fan a couple of years back in the bedroom, best thing we bought!! Really cools us down after hot torrid sex!! ha ah !

HI, I bought a chillow pillow last year, they are good for mild symptoms or just hot weather but mine even ended up hot after a couple of hot flushes lol.Plus its now all out of shape .I think thats because of all the tossing and turning.Still it's certainly worth trying to see if it helps you feel more comfortable xxx

I have done that with a hot water bottle for the last few years when its hot Tina......it sounds crazy but needs must and its lovely to have something cool in bed isn't it.!! Mine has only been in the fridge all day, but I might try it in the freezer now.

I may try that damp towel idea as feet feel as if they are sizzling sometimes. Just mopping yourself down in bed with a bowl of cold water and flannel can help. Hard work going to bed in this heat isn't it!

One of the local garden centres puts plastic fizzy drink bottles filled with water and ice in the bunnies' runs and they flop out full length alongside them, so they obviously get too hot as well.

Better go and do something now.....may BBL

p.s. have anybody every tried taking a cold hot water bottle to bed. You should try it, in fact fill it with cold water and put in in the freezer, take it out after its lovely and cold, wrap with a towel, so you don't get freezer burns and hey presto something lovely to keep you cool.

Another tip to keep cool is to dampen down a towel and put at the foot of the bed and rest your feet on it - that will cool you down too, but not very good if you have arthritic feet to be honest. But if it gets too hot what is a girl to do to keep cool?

I have never heard of these chill pillows, they seem quite intriguing (is that the right way to spelling intriguing - looks odd), will have to have a nosey on the internet later.

GOOD MORNING GIRLS!

WHAT A WONDERFUL MORNING

YES I AM SHOUTING BECAUSE I HAD A WONDERFUL NIGHTS SLEEP LAST NIGHT, YES INDEED I DID!

WHY?

I did not go to bed until 2am, truly shattered, so as soon as my head hit the pillow I was off with the fairies, lol and did not wake up until 6am - four hours sleep - mind you it was not good for the old bladder - say no more!
Went back for another two hours and feel most refreshed. I even had a shower before breakfast and that is just unheard of.

Mmm? I wonder if I am sickening for something LOL

Have taken the spare bed out of the junk room, and all the exercise equipment, OH is going to take it all to the tip. The exercise equipment has been gathering dust for some 18 years I think, and I am cheesed off with moving it here there and everywhere, each time I try and make the room tidy! So am also getting a charity bag together for decent junk, and hopefully a bag full for the binmen - when they decide to turn up. We have not had our bins emptied now for nearly three weeks and if the binmen dont come and empty them soon the wheelie bins will all be trundling off in a line to empty themselves lol (The reason they have not been emptied is that the binmen are not happy with the 2.75% pay rise they have been offered)! OH and I would love to have a 2.75% pay rise.

So Pam, have a lovely kip - it is lovely having the bed to oneself and not have a huffing puffing snorting boiler laid next to you, lolol.

Everyone else have a good day and keep cool!

Morning Pam
Sleep well!!

Morning Annx
No I have never heard of a Chillow pillow, sounds interesting, but I would be interested about a bed that changes to your temperature.
I have often ask OH for a bed that can split in two (you know what I mean)
looks like two singles pushed together that can be elevated for reading, while the other stays flat.
I have a very firm support pillow shaped like a piece of cheese, I call it my cheesey pillow use it when I'm in bed to support my back when reading but the only problem is doesnt' come with a pillow case, so i am unable to wash it, I have asked daughter no 2 to make me one on the sewing machine with a zip so it can be taken off to get washed , still waiting.

Morning Jane
I really hope the weather stays nice for your break next week, a week in a cottage sounds great, mind you I bet you will have lots of wee beasties staying with you and I don't mean your OH or your friend Fritz.

off to make a coffee

Morning All,

Fitz in his underpants legging it round the garden....lol. Hope he wasn't showing his testimonials!!! lol.

Well I didn't sleep well at all.....eyes were itching like mad so I think it must be the pollen with all this hot weather. Tried washing my face which helped a bit, but have puffy red eyes this morning. Have to have a window open at night, so that won't help. Like you Fiona, I am down to a sheet, with the quilt over my legs, then wake up a bit chilly in the early hours. I was reading the other day about a bed that is supposed to change temperature according to body temperature........goodness knows how it would work, but it sounds good. I think I may look out for one of those chillow pillows that are supposed to keep you cool. Has anyone tried one?

Hope you have a good kip, Pam.
