Don't laugh, me and hubby sat here the other night, he was on the computer and i was doing some painting...and we sort of seem a bit like ships that pass in the night!! I said how strange it will be when our girl moves out and he said quite seriously "We could always get a little dog!"

Hi Chris, glad you will still visit and you've got us marked in your threads!

We had a roast yesterday as I'm working tonight and our daughter is over the boyfriends until Tuesday night. Seems she will be moving out soon, her and the boyfriend have bought a house together (he still lives with his mum at the moment. I will miss her, but as she often stays over at his and the mum's as it's nearer to her work I';ve got a bit used to her not being about so much. And as she said it will give me somewhere to visit...sounds very sad doesn't it!!

Just wanted to say but forgot before...another symptom of the change!!

i think we'll keep this thread going as we've all made friends on here, so even if it's just to say "Hi how are you?" it's nice to do that and disciuss any problems or ask another opinion on something...after all that's what friends are for...Oh I feel a song coming on!!

I'm working a night shift tonight, so won't be about tomorrow.

Hello ladies, oh Fiona the mornings are the worst for me with the achey joints! Honestly I look a bloody wreck. Yes the back seems to be the worst for me and the lower back as you say. Also around the neck and shoulders but that could be tension i guess.

Yes Jane I always have a night time towel in my bag and a tampon. I've noticed my libido had totally dropped...i used to laugh hen I heard peoplke say they'd sooner have a cup of tea and a slice of cake...how true with me of late!!! ha ha.

Pam.

PS. Yes Jane I was in the brownies, i was in the "Fairies!" my kids laughed when i told them, don't think they have that name now...we're all to PC correct!

afternoon Pam
It's wet & cold today pretty miserable , I hope we can keep this thread going , If it's a really nice day I am not sat at the computer I am usually out in the garden or out with family, we don't get much summer in Britain so you have to make the best of it while it's here

Having problems this afternoon with typing my messages here on GR letters keep flickering .
Achey joints was one of the first symptoms I had when I first started the menopause was hard work getting out of bed in the morning , my lower back was the worst & the knees, we changed our mattress as it was old anyway and since I have been walking up to dad's house every morning to get him ready for daycare, they are much improved. mind you when walking up any slopes the top of my thighs ache .

Morning ladies, yes I know what you mean Jane, but I do hope not. I think what has happenned is it was all going very well, lots of posts every day, but to be realistic we can't do that every day. When you look on other threads they don't post every day, so even if we go a day or two without posting anything that''s ok. We can just come on here as and when we want really.

Talking of which, oh these past couple of weeks have been terrible for me, I tend to go to bed fairly late thinking that I'll sleep better and still wake about 6am, which is very unlike me! I'll be glad when I've got through this, the achey joints are the worst too. I've not had a period since last Christmas...so maybe I'm getting through it now...maybe there's the light at the end of the tunnel that I can see...bloody hope so!

Hi
AB I'll try that tip about the cider vinegar in blueberry fruit juice, trying anything is better than nothing , It's really a pain this medication problem as my chol is 9 which is high, and it would have been better if I could have taken some form of medication along with watching my diet & exercise, The doctor said at least I don't over do the alcohol and I don't smoke and am not over weight , so hopefully changing my life style a bit will help.

Hi ladies
Just got back from the doctors and she said I do not have to try anymore medication for my High Cholestral, seeing that the third lot of pills was giving me headaches and continually making me feel tired. all I can do now is just to cut down on red meat to once a week , eat more fish and do more exercise if possible, and eat pro active foods,so thats good news
of to Morri**** to do the weekly shopping now.

Hi
Night times are still the worst time for me for hot flushes I can't remember who said on this thread to use a hot water bottle filled with freezing cold water , but it is a brilliant idea, mind you OH complains when he sometimes touches the bottle with his feet.
I sometimes get them when I'm in the car if the sun is coming through the window, and I then have to open the window to cool of, OH puts on a/c for me but I then start to freeze.
Does anyone know anyone else who has got through them and is hot flush free yet?

I'll say goodnight off for a bath & then to bed

I believe you Helen, sometimes the sweat drips off my nose lol
another strange phenomenon....the arm I wrenched when I fell on the stairs gets pins and needles with each hot flush!!!!
