Evening ladies, was going to come on here earlier but fell asleep!! Dear oh dear!!

So you've all been busy in the garden then?

I think I've mentioned on here before that I like container gardening, my plants are put ont all sorts of containers, they seem to thrive quite well too. Yes Jane, like Fiona I think tha's kind of you with feeling sorry for the wood lice.I hate it when my friend pours boiling water over ants if they become a problem...what a load of softies we are...nice to be that way I think though.

Slept well last night...think it was mainly due to that night shift though!

Going to turn in now, speak soon, take care girls.

Ah Jane how kind you are to feel sorry for the wood lice.lol
I afraid my oh would throw some ant powder done straight away he can't stand any insects. if a fly comes in view it gets swatted straight way anyway time I finnished for the night on the computer and go and watch a bit of tele to wind down before bed or I will be be going over in my head all the family info I have been doing today and I won't be able to sleep.
Good night to every one

Part of my weeding today at the edge of the Patio was clearing dried dead twiggy stuff, and when I pulled it up there were loads of Chuggy Pigs(wood lice).I felt sorry I had disturbed them and put a bit of weedy things back on top of them..................Don't any of you dare tell my OH LoL

Hi every one
Arctic Blonde- we once put down bark in our garden but after a while we found a lot of wood lice in it so we never used it again.
It's really dark outside now just like winter time and it's pouring with rain.
I have been filling in some of my family tree this afternoon and my back and shoulders are aching with sitting too long at the computer.

Have just looked at Simons cat and have saved it for OH when he comes in. We are both dominated by cats. Reminds me of one of ours years ago, who loved cake, and OH was just about to swallow a piece, and the cat sitting on his lap put her paw down his throat to try and retrieve it! It was funny to watch!
Glad you left spaces for the cats to go, Christine, It can be tempting to fill in the spaces and then moan about the cats scratching up the plants.

Daughter no 1 & SIL just left to go home, we had lamb for dinner, Roasties, Baby pots.Cauliflower and pea's and blackcurrant crumble & custard, that's the second lot of blackcurrants this year I have picked and there's still more to come from the bushes in our garden.

Going to be quiet here tomorrow OH is back to work after his weeks holiday, so I will be catching up on all the house work that I didn't bother doing while he was here. MIL will be coming next Friday for a week's holiday so OH is going to take that week off to so that will complete his 2 weeks holiday this year.

Christine, I dont think it is necessary to use Blueberry if you like something else instead, It was just that I found that one a good disguise for the taste.
I do have exercises given me by a physio, to help my back ache , source, crumbling vertebrae. The ones I find that help most are the sit-ups, I do ten every morning, and hanging from the lintel over the doors. That one wouldnt help anyone short, I know!
Dont give up on this thread, we have gone off the subject many times but come back to the original one for anyone that needs it.

Well this is my last post of the day, if you see what I mean as I'm working tonight.

Christine sorry about that with your name, I have a lady who I work with and she's a Christine and she likes to be called Chris, so I expect that's what made me say that, lol.

Take care ladies and speak soon.

Pam.

PS. Yes Ann, you mention achey hips...mine are terrible of late...so glad I'm not alone!!

Annx

Annx Report 26 Jul 2009 16:21

Afternoon All,

I think one of my first symptoms was achey joints. Started in my 40s along with a regular hot red face!! lol. I would find my hips hurt and it would be hard to get comfortable to sleep. My knees would get very hot at night too. In the mornings when I got out of bed I would hobble the first few steps as my ankles and feet hurt. Now, 15 years later I have none of those problems anymore, although now I am retired I do a lot less sitting than then. I was convinced at the time that it was a downhill slide.......so ladies there is hope!! However I still get flushes, but not as often and usually not as bad now. I stopped HRT 3 years ago as new guidance and my doctor suggested it was best. I really did notice changes then!! Skin became drier and more slack, in fact everywhere became 'drier' if you know what I mean!! Have to use more creams and gels now!! lol One improvement since coming off HRT seems to be lower blood pressure though......mine is rarely above 120/70 now, nearly 20 points lower than when I worked, but the job was stressful, so that may account for some of the change.
