I don't know what the Liverpool Care Plan is Pam.I will ask OH when he comes in.It is a long time since I did any nursing.It sounds like some kind of Palliative Care.

Oh dear AB sad to read about your OH's cousin's mum, totally unacceptable and i'm glad they are going to moan about it, it's terrible the way people are treated and at that age too, disgusting. i totally agree with jane we don't complain enough in this country.

Hope you get sorted yourself too Christine, and yes they do tend to fob us all off with pills at times don't they.

Where i work an edely gentleman has been put on 'the liverpool care plan', I think they call it...well i'm finding this most distressing if I'm honest, he doesn't seem like he's on his death bed to me. they are treating him well, he's eating and drinking okay don't get me wrong...i'd soon blow the whistle if they weren't, but it just seems wrong some how. Jane you'd probably know more about this than me that's for sure. His GP has authorised it etc. but i don't know, he seems fine to me.

Ah well, now off to bed...on my own...really quite like it.

Good for her .We don't complain enough in this country .We are too polite!!!!!
We need to Kick Ass a bit more often(excuse the expression) but some things don't half make my blood boil .
I had a funny conversation with a lady yesterday.I held a door open for her ,she then held it for me !!!!!! We laughed and said we were Q ing(can't spell it)
to be polite LOL.I said it is because we are British.You would not get that anywhere else.

Christine ,EVERY HOSPITAL MUST HAVE A PROCEDURE FOR COMPLAINTS.They may be trying to fob her off.Your cousin needs to persue it.

Hi ladies, hope all goes well with your mum Christine, it is so worrying when your mum or dad gets poorly. I'm sure it will get sorted for her.

Jane I think I''ve said before about you're hubby being a GP and it being handy! I think I may allow hubby back into the marital bed again tonight...think he shouldn't be contagious anymore...hope so anyway.

I was thinking yesterday...it's going to be one whole year this christmas since my last period...am I over the change I wonder? Jane can you ask hubby what he thinks!!

I'll still post on here even if I am...nothing like somewhere to share your moans and groans...and some laughter too!

Christine hope all goes well with your mum. will be thinking about you all.
Dustbin day here I can here the bottles rattleing into the lorry as I type this out, I hope they don't trail our bins to far down the street, OH painted our house number on our bins as all the bins were ending up outside each others driveways and it was very confusing.

Christine ,I hope your Mums meeting with the surgeon today goes OK.I bet your mind is imagining all sorts of things at the moment.

Fiona he is useful for some things,like today.But I have to say no i don't get a lot of sympathy for other things.In one way I can understand it as he has spends all his days listening and dealing with patients,and when he walks through the door the last thing he wants is to hear me moaning about my aches and pains lol.Generally if it is anything more than the usual throat,menapausy stuff etc he will say to go and see my own GP.
In General they do recommend that you don't have your own OH as your GP.

It must be good having a OH as a doctor Jane, though on the other hand do you get a lot of sympathy when you are ever feeling unwell as OH will know if it is serious or not, Men are terrible patients when they are poorly.
I expect my OH would make a terrible doctor, as he won't let me phone the NHS unless my temperature is high or he has analyzed every symptom before hand.

I asked OH if he would remove my Mirena Coil as it has been in 12months longer than it should have.It was quite funny really as I had a sudden vision of the window cleaner appearing at the bedroom window lol.Then the postman came ,and that set the dog off barking.OH was there with all the sterile stuff and the biggest torch.I asked him what the heck he needed that for and as he explained it is very dark up there and he needed to see what he was doing LOL.At least I didn't have to go my own GP to go ferreting around !!!

Hi Jane, hope things are going okay with you. you made me chuckle about the wind! Yes farty bum still has a cold so he's still bannished to the spare room, I'm working tomorrow night at the residential hom e and don't want his cold getting to my dear oldies there...it does annoy me when some staff come into work with very bad colds! We get paid if we're sick so why on earth do they come in!!

The wind (not Pam's OH) ,has blown the gazebo down!!!!!.We were going to take it down anyway this weekend.

Hi all, that's a much nicer word Patricia, so will use that when I see them again and explain what it means...they both know I don't like the word partner. My mum was from Glasgow and I lived there for a short time when i was very young, we're talking 1959-60 time. I remember my aunts calling children wains (spelling) and if I cried my cousins would say I was greetin (spelling again!) That was a long time ago but i remember some of it like it was yesterday.

Glad you're sleeping better Lizzie, me too. Hubby has got a bad cold so have banished him to spare room (seems we've got so many now the two kids have moved out) and these past few nights i've slept so well, so what does that tell you...no farting or snorring to annoy me!!!

It's a lovely day (well to me it is) south westerly wind keeping it lovely and fresh!
