What is it with mens flies? Their minds must be elsewhere lol...."Flying low " was what I think we used to say.
I still have Victor Meldrew with me.Any thoughts as to get rid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.If I didn't have my son and his girlfriend here I would sleep in sons bed tonight.
We talk about us women but when it comes to the men and they won't say what is on their minds it drives me nuts!!!!!!!!!.I may find out in a couple of days.
I think it may be to do with work and he may have had to tell a patient that they are seriously ill,or worse.......So I have to be a bit 'patient' and wait for him to talk when he is ready.

Hello all, hope you've had a good day. Had a fairly good shift and didn't go to bed until about ten this morning, so slept really well. I'm sitting here with my puffy little eyes and a cup of tea 'coming round' as the saying goes.

I'm so glad this thread has proved popular and on a serious note that will help lots of ladies like myself with lot's of good old common sense advice. I feel better knowing that all this aches and pains are quite normal and all the other stuff that I'm getting. I'm sure plenty are reading this and even if they're not posting it must be helping and reassuring.

Tina, yes I've got one of them too....his flys are a 'vexed area!' LOL ☺

Be back later when I've woken up a bit.

Pam.xxx.

I have Victor Meldrew here today lol.He is best staying out of my way.
Ann one of my dreads is having a leg put in plaster for 6 weeks (even a day),and then having the embarrassment of the Yeti emerging !!!!!!!

I have to laugh, this thread is doing well, but its reassuring to know that we are all going through the same things.

I think we should start a thread about our OH's and how they are changing as they get older - I know my OH has been replaced with Victor Meldrew these days! LOL Also what is it with them with forgetting to "do themselves up"!

I now have to check my OH with - "got your teeth in" , yes, "flys done up", (looks to see) no, tsk, "slippers have you changed them? " Oh deary me! We went to M&S the other day and to my embarrassement he had his slippers on. As if we have not got enough to put with as our bodies change lol

Ditto Helen........I look at the online seating plans now to pick my seat...at least with the end seats there is no hot person on one side of you!! I don't 'cosy up' to OH often in the cinema these days either!!!! lol The older theatres are the worst aren't they...... all that hot huddle as you shuffle along the endless corridors and stairs to get out into the air!!

I'll make some enquiries about electrolysis......I dread being in hospital and waking up with designer stubble!!

Jane

Jane Report 11 Apr 2009 16:03

Ann LOL.Nearl lost my tea then!!!!! Wish I had a Brazillian. The electrolysis does do the fair ones too.I went to have the dark prickly ones done and she said that as long as she can see the hair she should be able to get it ,but explained you have to get the hair at the right time for it not to come back.I go less now than I did so something is working.Long hairs that have straightened out!!!.
I went to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre with OH a year or so back and I was so hot ,I had to go right to the back, where I could get a little air. There was a poor chap there too.he had obviously moved there so he could dash to the loo.I did offer him some immodium that I had lurking in my bag,but he refused.I suppose I could have been giving him anything.
Anyway I stayed there for the rest of the performance flapping away like mad with my faithful fan lol.I always have to have an isle seat in the theatre or cinema,as there is more air at the edges !!

Annx Report 11 Apr 2009 14:53

Well, I've had a chuckle here....I thought some of these things were just me!!

Got the chin sprouts too and recently found a hair attached to my earlobe. I don't think electrolysis will work 'cos they are white and it only works on dark hair!! Hairs above my wrists that were fine and fair are darker and thicker. (I keep checking my palms!!!! lol) I seem to have the brazillian thing too....only horizontal!!! lol Also, has anyone else noticed extra long hairs ?? I seem to come across ones about 4 inches long!!! What's that about!!

After 3 years, the flushes seem a bit less often and less extreme, but I still have dreadful nights and like Helen I find I tend to get one as soon as I awake in the morning and move. I haven't taken a refrigerated hotwaterbottle to bed for over a year or a bowl of water and flannel for mopping down so hopefully I am over the worst. The annoying thing is that I would like to do more exercise to lose some weight, but even a brisk walk for a few minutes brings me out in drips of sweat trickling down my back. Sitting in a hot theatre on a summer night, even in a thin top can be an ordeal, so I whizz outside in the interval while OH gets me an iced lolly!!

Harpstrings Report 11 Apr 2009 12:46

LOL Sharon, yes I can quite imagine, but as you say, there is no sell by date on them.

Pam, I hope you are keeping cool in this unexpected sunshine - well I hope everybody has got the same weather as in Bristol anyway.

Happy Weekend

Talking of buying Tenas in bulk reminded me of the time, years ago, when I negotiated with the local discount drug store to buy two boxes of sanitary towels.Well, they don't go stale and I did use them, and you never know when you are going to be stuck for a Christmas present!

As I carried them down the street on my shoulder to the car park you could see the people around thinking "That poor woman has problems!"

Jane

Jane Report 11 Apr 2009 10:27

Morning everyone!!!!!! I feel quite cool right now ,but am off to M&S in a mo ,so will no doubt start the sweats the minute I get through the doors.
One thing I find happens each morning is that almost as soon as I have woken up I get a massive flush.Anyone else have the same?

, Hi there,I have also been down this long, miserable road so know what I'm talking about.Stuff all the arty-farty remedies, get down to the clinic and demand harmone replacement YESTERDAY. You may have to try more than one, but persevere and it will save your life.Lots of love and sincere good wishes.

Have a good night Pam, and thank you.

Well, what a day and night we have had and full of revelations too. LOL (I wont add pmsl - seems inappropriate) LOLOL.

Well I for one will be off to the Dr on Tuesday, as I understand that I can actually get help - hooray I say!

If not, I suggest we all take out shares in T*na! In fact you can order on line direct - saves a lot of pennies (sorry) too,as its buy in bulk. I would like to see the neighbour's faces when a delivery of those arrived on the door step by the boxful! LOLOLOLOL.
