Hello Everyone,

I'm with you there Fiona.......I sometimes think I will pass out at the hairdressers, especially when I have to sit under that hot ring thing that moves around your head to set the colour. They look at me gone out sometimes when I ask for cold water instead of hot tea or coffee.

Jane, I bought a strappy thin cotton shift thing a few weeks ago....for doing the cleaning in.......but decent enough to answer the door! I often do it in my bra (the cleaning!), but all hell breaks loose then while I fight my way into the first thing I can find if the doorbell goes!! lol

Jane

Jane Report 29 Jul 2009 16:36

I always ask them at the hairdresser to put that thing(I think it's a climazone)
On the cool setting ,what with having a nylon cover up,and a rubber mat thing around my neck and a towel .I can just cope with it on cool.I also always have a glass of water Ann lol...Unless it's Xmas then I'll have a wine or sherry and a shortbread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Julie Ann .My board name is Helen but you can call me Jane (that's my real name)lol

Am still sat in my strappy top and no bra,and it is still raining, but at least I have got a few jobs out of the way.

Jane

Jane Report 29 Jul 2009 18:45

Why thankyou Christine .How nice of you to say so lol.
Talking of cats again, yesterday when out with the dog he suddenly came face to face with a lovely tabby that was just sat on the verge. The cat was obviously used to dogs and started to walk towards Chester. He leapt off all fours shrieked and ran away as far as his extending lead would go.I was in stitches, but called the cat and had a lovely stroke, whilst Chester was a shivering wreck lol.

Had abusy day today. raining cats and dogs, so no gardening. Decided to make bread before I needed it desperately, and after dinner I 'enjoyed' myself defrosting the freezer! Must get these few jobs done because Jude is coming to see me on Friday. We have e-mailed each other but have never met. She lives the other side of town!

Evening ladies and welcome Julie Anne

Just been watching the programme "Who do you think you are". Kate Humble tonight, very interesting one nand such a tear jerker.

We've had a bit of rain this afternoon, the gardens need it I suppose.

Hubby got bitten on the face yesterday by a wasp and on the hand byh a horse fly...he's on anti biotics his arm is twice it;s normal size!! (Good job it was only his arm!!!)

Went to Tesco, loads of holiday makers in there, so it was so hot...hence a really bad flush by the check out...felt like everyone was looking at me!! Awful.

Hope all yopu girls are ok and sleeping well, with this heat.

Pam.

Morning All,

I can just picture Chester doing that Jane and nearly towing you down the path....what a confident cat!

On the bus to school we used to pass Frears and Black's bakery and the smell of custard creams could be overwhelming. Now, Everard's brewery is nearby so we get a regular dose of hops when we open the windows.....quite a nice smell.

Morning
Pam I watched Kate Humble "Who do you think you are" last night and do you remember the bit where she visited the Ryhope Pumping Station and spoke to a Stafford Lindsay about the engine which collapsed during that awful mining accident.
Ryhope is in Sunderland (where I come from ) Dad was very much into Archeology and was a member of the Ryhope pumping station and once a month at the weekend , mum , dad & I would go up to the pumping station and while dad helped the other men clean and keep the pumps going , mum and I used to work in the coffee /craft shop . It was all voluntary work, sometimes I would do a bit of cleaning & polishing the engines.

I wish the weather would make it's mind up.Sun,Hail Rain.Very quiet here today.OH and I had a bit of a row last night so it's silent treatment all round today lol.I just said for him to stay out of my way.It would be his bl***y day off too.
I'm just going to see if I can pick any beans.BBL

Oh sorry to read about your family dispute Jane, MEN!!! In a way I'm quite glad my OH travels away for the odd day or so most weeks ,I get a bit of peace to sit for as long as I want on the computer and eat when & what I want to .
mind you in the summer it's good to have the bed to myself but in the winter it's back to wearing my flannelette jimmies as I have no one to stick my cold feet on.
when OH gets home at the end of the week I am ready to overload all my problems and heartaches on to him about my dad etc ,Poor OH gets an earfull!!!!

Jane

Jane Report 30 Jul 2009 17:31

I think the problem at the moment with my OH is that he so overloaded with work just now he is so stressed out,and was like a pressure cooker just waiting to blow.Boy oh Boy he did that last night and who gets it.....me LOL
Thankfully it is not often it happens, but it does make things uncomfortable for a bit.I think he is coming round now as he is talking again.I just keep quiet until he is ready. After nearly 30 years you get to know how to play things !!!!!!!!
Happy Days lol

Glad to chat to a fellow wearsider. I have happy memories of the North East I really should go back and visit my home town but just don't seem to get the time and I don't want to put dad back into respite . there has been lot of changes I believe to the area where I was brought up there used to be a hotel across the road from where I lived but I have been told it was pulled down and now houses are built there.
quite a lot of my ancestors came from Pallion and I lived in Fulwell when I was first married.

Hello girls, Fiona how interesting about the connection your family has with the Ryhope Pumping station, it must have made you a bit misty eyed I'm sure.

Jane, me and hubby had a few words yesterday too! Oh he's been a real drama queen with his arm!!

Back later son's just arrived!!
