Hi ladies, expect I've missed you all again!

Had a lovely day, we went to Bressingham , which is in Norfolk (i live in north norfolk and it was a Dad's Army Day! Lot's of people were dressed in 1940's gear and as GI's and RAF, WAF,Wrens,Yanks, you name it...there was even a fella dressed as Max Millar. David Croft and Jimmy Perry were there as were, Bill Pertwee (Hodges) Pamela Cunliffe (MrsJones) the actor who plays the vicar and Arnold Ridleys son. I had my picture taken with Jimmy Perry and Bill Pertwee, they were so nice, getting on in years all of them and they were absolute troopers.

Martin Shaw was there too, some of you ladies might like him! He was nice too, just ambling about and looking at all the stuff Jones' butchers van amongst other things. he wasn't as tall as I imagined him to be, about 5ft 11-6ft...he looks bigger on telly. He lives in Hingham in norfolk, about ten miles from this event.

Ah well, hope i catch you all tyomorrow, we got back very late.

we are having another lovely day here, thats 2 days in a row WOW!!!
Just having my morning cuppa before putting the washing on. and off to dads to see him on the bus. then down to work for a while then I will do a bit of shopping before I'm home for good.
By that time hopefully it will be still warm & sunny and can get the chair out in the garden , I really need to settle back down to my tapestry again, it's a big one . Lion & Lioness but I can only do it throught the day, as the old eyes get tired and I can't see so well in the electric light.

I saw a lovely picture yesterday while I was at the garden centre
but it was to be done in cross stich & I have never tried cross stich yet
I't seems a bit more complecated than doing tapestry, but it was apicture of the Humpty Dumpty and surounding nursery Rymes, would have looked lovely in new grandchild to be's room.

Well considering I went for one of my longest walks yesterday, I could not sleep very well !
So might sit all day today.....but in the garden.

Martin Shaw.......nah.... you can have him Tina, much prefer my Consultant,and whats more he's only 40ish .LOL ! Well I can DREAM !!

Pam, When I go to Norfolk to visit my son I meet up with lovely Liz Purple, are you anywhere near Norwich ?.

I haven't Google the Wolf Spider too frighted....!!
Although I'm tempted ...I might move out of my place altogether in the Autumn. I go around the outside of the house looking for all the yellow cocoons up in the gutters and sorry to say I splatter them before they hatch !!

Morning Ladies.
I have a pile of ironing to tackle.OH has been hunting for a couple of his favourite shirts that wants to take with him as he's away wed and thurs.
It is soooooo windy here but bright.I think it may even be too windy to hang the washing out.

Tina thiink that I was born in the wrong era too! I must say that when my nan used to say about how people were in that time (although she did live not far from London so the blitz was no joke) people seemed nicer to each other and life as a kiddy (I was born 1955) growing up was better too...that's Mel's thread! My daughter was with us and she always said it must have been nice too. To be honest it felt like a time warp when we were at Thursford yesterday, they were mostly of a certain age and the young ones that were there were all into the war era too.

Back to Martin Shaw, he was there with some friends and not part of the signing 'autographs do'. He was as I said, not as big a chap as I imagined, and he's never really done it for me...but i tell you what he's very good for his age...he doesn't look it atall. I'm 54 in May and he must be older than me. He was dressed very casual, jeans, trainers, shirt and sunglasses and a sort of fleece gillett...not that I took nuch notice! I must say he's nicer in the flesh...never really did it for me before...notice I said before! Yes, no joke with that stalker, think she was lucky to have evaded a custodial sentence.

Marilyn my daughter works in Norwich, I live not far from Wroxham, in the heart of the broads!

PS Lorraine it was his voice that made us turn round and spot him, we later sat quite near where we had a cuppa...I could have listened to him all day!

Sounds like you had a lovely day Pam and fascinating to see how things used to be in those times.

Spiders......well when I was young I had no fear of them at all would happily pick them up and if the boys at school chased us, I would catch a spider and chase them back!!!! lol Now I can't stand any kind of spider in the bedroom at night, which is tricky with the flushes as I have the window open a lot!!! What changed it was that we started getting some big bodied spiders with shortish, fleshy legs (sounds like me!!!!lol) 2 or 3 years ago. They were hard to catch and seemed more clever than the usual ones. They could spot you coming for them and would leg it like lightning to really good hiding places like under the bed. (now I have 'looked on here' I think they are wolf spiders!!) Anyway, they didn't bother me too much at first, until I started finding them in folded clothes in the bedroom and then under the duvet when I pulled it back at night!!! Much too cosy!! A couple of times I had to leap out when I was reading a magazine in bed as one would be on top of the duvet. Each time I would put them outside, but the last straw came when I was just nodding off to sleep one night and felt something cold tickling my lip. I knocked it off and put the light on and it was one of these particular spiders.....Ugggghhhh!! I don't like touching these sort and they are so quick I squish em now!!!

I have bought myself one of those battery operated bats that kills flies in USA......might try it on spiders in the Autumn ....I know I sound so cruel, but I cant help it..!
I have just been and got my pelmet wood with hubby something that should have been done last week,but was inundated with other things.
We had a few chosen words on what piece of wood we should buy, but as its only a pelmet ,hubby wanted to buy a floor board. !!....ridiculous ,I told him,its only decoration and the thinner the better, so I picked Chipboard ....I am the one making it ,why don't men listen LOL

Are we still on spiders, never been bothered with them in the bedroom. in the bathroom yes, so I make sure I always have the plug in the plug hole

My parents used to like Glen Miller.Have to say so did I.Haven't heard him for years.Also the chap that played the flute,with funny eyes.I can't for the life of me think of his name.Ooooh I think James Gallway ??

Yes I liked James Gallway.
Glen Miller well I'm a bit young for him. I liked country singer John Denver I remember he died in a plane crash.
OH liked to listen to Patsy Cline and Crystal Gale.
My favourite Dvd these days is Mama mia The filim went with OH to see it and again with daughter no 2. I love all Abba's music.
Going to the cinema on Thursday with daughter no2 but we haven't decided what filim to see yet

I'm sure we will,
I won't see daughter no 1 for two whole weeks she and her OH are off to visit OH parents in Italy and then to spend 3 days of the second week in Verona. they leave on Saturday & not back till the 30 May.
Hope they have a good time , OH parents have'nt seen daughter no1 with baby bump yet. they are all very excited

Evening ladies, ah music...well I'm into most music, even the stuff that they churn out today if I'm honest. I even like some of the club stuff. My favourite stuff from the seventies and eighties were, Squeeze, Human League, INXS, oh I could go on and on............

Glenn Millar, well I like Perfidia, don't know if i've spelt that correctly though! My dad liked Josef Locke. Mum loved Bobby Darin!

Talking of ABBA, they were at number one in the charts with Super Trouper when my son was born!

My dad looked very much like Charles Aznavour. So many people said that to him, so it must have been true. i could see it myself as well. My dad was the best, one in a million.

I'm off now, need to sort out a few things before bed,
