Hello just started reading this and its brilliant. I have been told i'm pere menopausal, evidently meaning i'm gearing up for it. I've got the night sweats, mood swings, enlarging wasteline which i swear just starts appearing out of no where, terrible tiredness, painful boobs and at the grand old age of 44.

So glad there's people that understand on here.

Hi Ladies, maybe it's the change ............in the seasons.I've been having my night sweats during the day as well. It's a total embarassment when talking to someone and theres a river running down your back into your knickers ,and then theres the make up that slides off with lovely little rivulets trickling down under your neckline! I'm now on my second brand of HRT since Christmas and if anything my symptoms are worse ,not helped of course by the broken foot and torn ligaments and being confined to four walls .Sorry for being such a moaning minnie but it's really getting me down!

Jane Report 19 Mar 2010 22:08

Nothing wrong with being a moaning Minnie Patricia .That's what this thread is for lolol.I'm so sorry about your poor foot and ligaments.I just hope they heal asap.
I am off to Dubai on Friday for a wedding .Staying for 6 nights. They are having a mini heatwave just now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have my flappy fan ,Magicool spray and facial spritz all ready to go in the suitcase. Not sure how I will cope with the heat there plus my own furnace.I have been told at the wedding there will be people going around with cold wet towels for people to use.(it is an outdoor wedding). It is just by the beach, so I can see me taking a little wander into the sea lol.

Hi Jane, have a great holiday ,The sun will be a real treat after all the snow we've had.And DL is so right, everyone will be overheated so no-one will think any differently of your flushes. Have a ball !!x

Jean (Monmouth) Report 20 Mar 2010 19:08

Do you reckon I could be starting hot flushes again at 75? Have never had much trouble, but have suddenly started to feel too hot. Only a week ago there was no way I could keep warm, I was cold to the marrow.

Hi Ladies ,thought you might appreciate this.My bad luck continues with a horrible bout of thrush. So,off to the 24/7 chemist today for a remedy. The assistant wanted to know "IF I WAS PREGNANT" before she would give me the medication. Now either I look really young for my age or I'm just FAT .But she was very embarassed when I told her it would be a minor miracle at 56!So whats the verdict should I be flattered or insulted lol

Jean (Monmouth) Report 27 Mar 2010 19:38

Have found out the reason for my hot flushes. I have been running a temperature! Dr says my blood test he took on Tuesday, shows I have an infection somewhere as my White blood cells are not right, but cannot pinpoint the problem. I will have to go for a scan, due to my past history, and if that is no help and I still have infection I may have to go into hospital. Rather now than when the weather gets better. I could do with the rest, I am so sleepy.

Good Evening Ladies
I posted a while back saying how my hair had gone really oily since going through the change well i seem to have solved the problem and just wanted to share with you what i use on my hair
I went to the health shop and bought Australian Tea Tree shampoo and its worked or seems to be
i no longer seem to have the oily look its soft and dry again
and you can use the shampoo everyday not damaging your hair
hope this helps someone who is suffering the same as i was x :)

Hello Ladies ,doctor changed my HRT again today, now I have a patch/pill combination .She was very off hand with me though ,not my usual doctor, and she told me that the menopause is an "absolutely natural part of life and I should probably just accept the symptoms as they wont last for ever" Easy for her to say she is only about 30 and has no idea how this has disrupted my life.I used to be a very sociable person ,now I'm hardly out the door because of the sweats ,and my mood is very low as a consequence.I would love to be able to say I sailed through the change but that is not the case and if there is help out there I dont see why I shouldn't ask for it.Or am I wrong.?Would it be better just to give up?

Jean (Monmouth) Report 11 Apr 2010 19:35

Have been feeling better since the antibiotic, which is just as well as the scan is not until the 4th May. Will have to starve that morning, and take my insulin and a sandwich with me to have when it is finished. My blood test results should be back on Wednesday. Still feel vaguely sick after I have eaten, which suggests some digestive problem to me. Fancied a biscuit this afternoon, and gave in, only to find my evening blood sugar had gone up to 10.5. Doesnt pay!
