Evening All.
We went to a pub for lunch today,as we went in I could feel my face getting hot and sweaty. The heat in the bar nearly finished me off lol.We were sat next to a radiator!!!!!,so I asked it it could be turned off.The chap said he would turn off the heating and would I like the door open.I would have been very happy to have had the door open ,but thought the rest of the customers would NOT appreciate it.I just love a big Menu as it is a brilliant fan lolol.
I hope you are all well and not suffering the things us women have to put up with.

still got this blasted flu, can't seem to get it eased at all.Doctor has now given me inhalers, which I'm not sure I'm using properly I was used to my mum having puffers as she called them .and I've been using mine the same way BUT my O.H.'s friend said I'm doing it wrong. So I'll need to go back to the doc for advice.Night sweats are particularly bad ,am having to change the bedding every day.AND my ma-in-law is coming to stay for a few days ,so no chance of a bit of peace.I just want to put my head under the covers and stay there 'til I feel better!

The flu has diverted itself to become a chest infection,so anti-biotics,inhalers and ....a thrush remedy for afters.Hopefully this will knock it out.Doctor also did blood tests for thyroid problems,as apparently menopause and thyroid have a lot of the same symptoms.Who'd come back as a man ,? ME lol

Jane Report 3 Feb 2010 18:21

Hope you feel better soon Patricia......good idea to get the thrush treatment. Those antibiotics can cause havoc can't they !!

Easter Bunny Report 3 Feb 2010 20:33

funny you should say that Patricia because I take thyroxine for an underactive thyroid and side effects of tabs when I looked can be hot flushes, sweating and unable to stand heat.

Hi Carole.glad to hear you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. How long did your "flushes" go on for. Some people on here have had them for years and I'm not sure I could cope with that.I'm 56 almost and just started the change about 18months ago.My sister was 58 when her periods stopped so I expect to be about the same.

Carole

Carole Report 5 Feb 2010 14:17

Hi patricia, I had mixed feelings when my period stopped for good, no more inconvenience but no more babes. The heralding of a brand new era good and not so good but well out out of comfort zone just the same. The flushes I got were a sensation of a dry burning up and suffocation. At night in the wee small hours accompanied by fear of the future.

I have slowed down a bit and I can be much more objective and can handle myself better with others. I expect much less than I ever did before and if I dont like something I either solve quick or not worry.

Hi Christine,i got some Honeygar delivered this week and started taking it day before yesterday,I've lost track of which day it is.Its supposed to help with joint pain as well as cholesterol.I had my blood tests done at the beginning of the week so I wont know if this is working 'til my next test in 3 months.I've also ordered a Chillow a pillow thats filled with cold water and thats supposed to give relief from the night sweats and promote better sleep. Will let you know how it goes

Easter Bunny Report 7 Feb 2010 17:06

I would try the honey but being diabetic its prob not a good idea.I do put half a teaspoon of cinnamon on my porridge to which I add blueberries or banana.
I read somewhere ages ago about the benefits of cinnamon but it was so long ago I can't remember why I started using it lol.

wheres everyone?

Patricia

Patricia Report 27 Feb 2010 20:26

Hi Easter Bunny,I'm still here, maybe I'm the only one left with the change! I've had a bad few weeks health wise with one infection after another, and the night sweats still go on.I've been taking the HRT now for 3 months and absolutely no change, thats not strictly true ,the pills make me very queasy so I've lost a few pounds in weight. Then of course we've had snow ...and more snow ...and more snow and yet more snow,so exercise is a distant memory, you can't push a pram and have a toddler by the hand and get any distance at all.Roll on the spring.Maybe everyone else is hibernating,I might try that myself next winter.Hope you are well and not confinned to 4 walls like a lot of us
