BBC News in the Midlands carried the subject of cardiac arrest in the young on their programme last night with a leading Birmingham Dr calling for screening for all young people.
Furthermore this oh so important subject is covered on line at BBC Staffordshire:

I was about to add that West Midlands TV had an article on this subject but see that Colin has already added. So this can be a nudge.

Monday Goodnight nudge to the top

MayBlossomEmpressofSpring

MayBlossomEmpressofSpring Report 17 Mar 2009 21:20

Tomorow, 18th March will be the third anniversary of the premature death of Stephen Warwick Westley, due to SADS. Stephen was the first born of Gillian Jennifer Shield and as most people on Genes will know Gillian has campaigned for people to be educated about SADS and SIDS.

Let us all pray that soon the whispers about scanning for all young people will be a fact and that Stephen and all the other young people who have been victims of this tragic condition will not have died in vain.

May every parent who has lost a child be comforted by their memories and the faith that they will be reunited.

Gillian Jennifer Report 18 Mar 2009 21:54

Thank you everybody, been a sad day but a happy day, which is hard to explain. Been to cemetary three times, hard to believe my Stephen has gone, but he has......but his memory lingers on, just as it should, Mothers day will be hard, as it always follows closely behind Stephen's memory, and that is always a difficult day, other four kids rally round and I try to smile, but an empty space is difficult to conceal, but I KNOW Stephen will want me smiling, bless him.
Stephen, loving you, missing you, wanting you, remembering you, with so much love you would not believe it.
