Help,

I am trying to find Thomas Foster's birth and marriage details. I know he was born in Liverpool but don't know the exact year of his birth - it could be 1873 or 1879. His parents were Thomas Foster b 1841 and Mary (born Parker). He had many siblings which included Margaret, Martha, Mary and James (these were all older than him).

Can anyone help please?

Hi Kath,

Thank you for your reply. Sadly, that is not the right family. Thomas had an older sister Margaret b1871 in Seaforth, William was b 1876 in Liverpool. Parents Thomas b1841 and Mary b1841.

Regards

Rachel

Where have you got the information from on this family? Do you have them in another census?

Hi Kath,

Thank you for your replies. A while back I found the information on the 1901 census about Thomas's parents when Thomas had a job as a journeyman plumber.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi Kath,

Thank you for your replies - you have certainly found the right family. I am now trying to find Thomas's birth ref so I can request the birth certificate; and I would really like to find out if he married; and if so, when?

There are too many Thomas Foster marriages in Lancashire at about the right time for him to be marrying to be sure which one might be his.

Since you have Thomas's mother's maiden name, if you decide to order any of the birth certificates you could give her name as a reference checking point.

They were the only three births that seemed to tie in with his age and birthplace on the 1881 census, however there were other births in the right timescale if he happened to have a middle name which was not given on the census.

I wonder if the Thomas Foster christened in Seaforth in 1873 died and they called a later son by the same name (which was quite common). There is this death:-

Name: Thomas Foster
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1873
Year of Registration: 1873
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Age at Death: 0
District: West Derby
County: Lancashire
