Hi Mandy, thanks for the offer, but I've got his birth certificate. When I found his death on Ancestry it gave the same birth date and area, that's how I know it's him. Thanks, Lou

If you get the cert you could search the electoral rolls for the address of the deceased and the informant (if different).

I did that for one house my family were connected to after getting a death cert and traced the family connections to the house for over fifty years.

This might throw up other names, perhaps a death announcement/obit entry in the newspaper might throw up some additional info.

The library (local to the death) may well have newspapers on fiche that they can search for you if you aren't local.

I was hoping to do further research before I ordered the death certificate. It looks as if I'm going to have to get it first doesn't it? Lou

I would get a copy of the death certificate and find out who was the informant.
You may be able to contact them at their given address.
An Electoral roll search for your relatives home address should show who else was living with him there. Maybe neighbours are still there and could help fill in the gaps.

Hi, I've just found what I believe is my grand uncle's death. None of the family knew him and as he died in a totally different area I am wondering if there is a way I can find out his last address apart from getting the death certificate or whether he ever marreid.

I have searched free Bmd, All Staff & West Midlands, & Rotheram bmd's with no luck. His family originated from Staffordshire and moved to Rotherham, but he died in Somerset. I found his death on ancestry with correct middle name and birth date so am presuming it is my granduncle.

Anyone any ideas how I can trace him? Much appreciate any help or advice, Lou
