can anyone help me find out what a Process of Scandal is .I came upon it in reference to one of my ancestors He was called Patrick Cowan from Edinburgh in Scotland He was a burgess and it mentioned that he was in involved in a Process of Scandal with another person through the commissary courts in Scotland in 1703 Any help would be great regards Sandra |

Do google for the Dictionary of the Scottish Language and put in "scandal". A 1708 definition is given, but all the entries there are a delight! |

I just had a look at the Dictionary of the Scottish Language and think it's a useful reference work. |
