Hi, does anyone have any advice on how to go about searching an ancestor's employer please? I have an ancestor John ROBINSON who was rumoured to have worked for the Duke of Portland in Cavendish Square, London as a groom some time during the 1870s. Would like to research this but not sure how to go about it! Any advice/pointers greatfully received. Thanks Fiona |

Thanks a lot for your suggestions, googled the Duke (5th) and got some good info. Also got confirmation in 1871 census that placed John Robinson as a groom at Duke's stables in London. Cheers! |
