If the adoption was arranged by a Charity, for example Barnardos, then there may be a record somewhere.

Hi Roger

Sheila is correct, legal adoptions came into place in 1927. In addition, there are no adoption records to view online.

Mandy :)

Hi Roger,

I think legal adoption only took place from 1927 onwards :O(

Can anyone tell me if adoptions were legal in 1912-14, if so where would I find records for the Birmingham area. Can this be done online?.
Thanks Roger
