many thanks for all your help, the info I received was on a small card saying,In Loving memory of Susannah Delsall. the loving sister of Emma Cranfield, followed by her D.O.D and age, and a passage. on the bottom it says. Interred in St James Church. Canada. No of grave 382. Canada is a big place!!

I wonder if it's just a mistranscription?
I found the following marriage on BVRI. I know it's not yours but the bride's name is Delsall while her father is Kelsall.

BARRATT, Robert Age: 28 Marriage
Wife: Cepha Dora DELSALL Age: 23
Marriage Date: 25 Dec 1890 Recorded in: Hartshill (near Stoke-upon-Trent), Staffordshire, England
Collection: Holy Trinity
Husband's Father: Robert BARRATT
Wife's Father: Richard KELSALL
Source: FHL Film 1470997 Dates: 1875 - 1906

I've found Susannah on the early censuses but can't find her marriage.
Will have a look on the Canada 1881 census....no...nothing


Could the name be spelt another way?

There is a Susannah Dalsall in the 1881 census, born in Essex but living in Yorkshire - age 35 - husbands name George.

I can't find a Delsall anywhere. Closest was a Delsell who enlisted in Canada in 1918 but he was from Detroit, Michigan and was born in Antwerp, Belgium.

Has anyone come across the above name? I cannot find it anywhere, It is the married name of a relative of my husbands, she was 11 on the 1851 census born in Essex name Susannah Cranfield, and died in Canada in 1893, aged 48yrs! any advise and help would be gratefully recieved. Beth
