Can anyone help me with a victorian wedding photo

Thanks Michelle. We know which family it is, it was just working out who was who. I can go back to hubby's gt. grandfather now & try to work out a few of them. What a shame our aunts & uncles never wrote on the back of these old photos. |

In a group portrait of the family and couple, can you tell who is on the groom’s side and who is on the bride’s? In family portraits, the relatives stay to the side of the person to whom they are related. |

Hilary, Think it is usual for the brides family to be on her left, or ie as you look at the photo to the right. |

I have just been given a lovely victorian wedding photo of an ancestor of my husband, it was given to us by one of my husband's aunts who unfortunately can't remember who they are now. An uncle thinks his grandfather is on the photo. What I need help with is whose family would have been on the brides left hand side in the photo,(Looking at the photo they are on her right) Would it be her family or the grooms. Any help appreciated. |
