FT Maker 2008 How do you import pictures? Help or

Hi I've just been given for Christmas the latest version of FTM 08. I can't find our how to import pictures / census images. Does anyone know how to do it please. I've tried tools and the help menu. But I still can't find out how to import images. On the help menue it did say to click on media and then click 'add media', but I can't seem to find the 'add media'. Hope you can understand all this.

Any advice will be much appreciated as I'm getting into a tiz about it all. I think I prefer the old method.

Hi Lou,

I've just added my first picture.

If you click on media and then new (add media is highlighted if you hover over this icon) then go to where your pictures are stored,i.e. my pictures in drop down menu.

Then double click folder to open and click the image you want to add.

Click open.

Click copy this file

Hi Linda, thanks for responding, I've been hovering over the icon and nothing has happened. We are talking about the Media Icon at the top of the page - sandwiched inbetween Places and Sources arn't we.

If not can you please explain to me in 'simply a no brain' detail so that I of the no brain variety of human being can follow.


When I hover it comes up " Manage the media items for your tree" but that's all, nothing else pops up.

Hi Linda, I've finally found where it is. I've now imported a picture. Obviously I was in the wrong place. But thanks again as your help was so obviously needed and without it I would still be struggling. Thanks again, Lou

On this topic, does anyone know how to remove a media source attahced to the wrong person. I can not find a remove button only an add one???

Replying to my own question, I have found it at the top under media, not the media bit by the person, which is where I was looking!
