One of my relatives emigrated to Fremantle, Perth, Australia in 1940s with her young son, she was not married, and got there by paying £10 emigrates passage fare on the ship, does anyone know how i would go about finding her details or anything about her new life in Australia, thanks Lynne. |

We found living relatives in Townsville Queensland by joining the Townsville Family History Society. They helped us to obtain relevant BMD, which eventually led us to living relations. I am sure thare is a Perth Family History Society. Try a google as these FHS are so helpful. |

You may also find something on the WA BMD site: |

Unfortunately the BMD site that Mary mentioned above will not have anything for the 1940's onwards. The NAA site mentioned by Helen may well list her immigration though so that would be a good starting point. |

Hi Lynne, The 'West Australian State Library' has an 'Ask a Librarian' service (query form on-line) -they will check their records including electoral rolls for you. Valerie (WA) |

You can only access the present electoral roll at the SEC office... you can check every State and Territory one at a time. You type in the name and ALL the names come up for that State. Then repeat for other States. |
