Would a couple on the marriage index have same qtr. yr. district and volume no. but the page number be different? I would have thought they would have been together on the same page? Could someone advise me please, thank you. |

Yes, they would have the same page number but if this a marriage you have found on freebmd (or Ancestry bmds) one of the page numbers could be mistranscribed. Check both images to be sure. |

Any apparent difference in page numbers is due to misreading of the records by the transcribers. |

Thank you everyone for replying. I was looking at Ancestry bmd. I´ve just gone back and had a careful look again. It says SEPTIMUS MOORE 1st qtr. 1864 Bedale Yorks. Vol 9d P737. |

Thank you everyone for helping. I have been able to trace the above Septimus back and he is not mine. I cannot find the second marriage of my Sept. even though I have him on all census right back from 1841 through to 1881. Jane his second wife came from Richmond in Yorks but he was born & brought up on the Tyne. Thanks anyway everyone. |

Stan, I didn´t know Jane´s name was Swann, she was the only Jane I could find married in the 1st Qtr. when the other Septimus was married. At least now I know she wasn´t Jane Swann. Thank you for looking for me. |

Andy, yes you are right. Ances.won´t let me in to see the image for some reason. I assume she wasn´t a widow then as it says coal miner´s wife. But then again Husband isn´t on census. I have now seen son Matthew Deacon Moore on the Index for Gateshead, it was right under my nose here but I was following a red herring down in Yorkshire! So if I´ve got this right my Jane was originally Jane Deacon who married an Alderson and on the 1961 census she is living with her MIL. By 1971 she was a widow and married to Septimus Moore. Many thanks Andy I´ve been really puzzled over this Jane. |
