BLOCK CAPITALS for SURNAMES of DIRECT ANCESTORS

I want to enter block capital letters for the surnames of my direct line ancestors in my tree, so that I can track through the line more easily. I have tried all ways to enter and save them but usually they revert to lower case after I exit the tree. Very occasionally it works, usually for short surnames.

Any ideas how to do it?

I just tried this for my grandad (11 letters) & his name also went into lower case after exiting my tree.
Strange, I took a family history course & was told that block caps was the correct way to write any surname.

Hi Ladies There was a thread about this a while ago. Try searching for Paul Special Agent Barton as he did submit to the post thread. I don't think there was a way around this though but there may be an update.

If you can't find a way then you could make an ancestor list (ahnentafel) on a word document.
I have one which I refer to while looking at my tree so I can keep an eye on who is my direct ancestor.
A fan chart printed out will do the same job but the largest I've seen only goes back about 11 generations whereas an ahnetafel has no limits.

Here's a thought. If you put a surname in caps then maybe you would never get a match unless that other person also had the name in caps. There might be a reason there.

Hi Hazel
Ive just been playing changing mine from small to large works for me. Unless
it changes by the time i go back to it.I do know that if you use large letters for place of birth ,they get changed back to small.
Avril
Been back to my tree ,still in large name, sorry i know this doesnt solve your problem.
