possible change of name for a town??

Swanlow, Cheshire is recorded as that name until 1901 census at least. see: |

Try googling for Cheshire history or Cheshire place names and sww what comes up. Locally to me lots of names have changed slightly over the centuries so quite possibly Swanlow did change its name |

hi...i`m researching a person born in SWANLOW cheshire in 1730' i`ve been on mapquest uk and they don`t have this town on record..i have ancestors from `poulton cum spittle`...this is now called `bebington`...is it possible SWANLOW changed its name,??the only other thing i can think of is `stanlow`....anyone any ideas??..i have put this request on rootschat as well,but no answer as yet....thanks and regards....allan |
