Well just for some information, Polhampton village in the Overton hundred.......

Polhampton. Mediaeval village site deserted during the Black Death. Hundred-Overton. Ref: 1. V.C. H., Vol. 1, p.p. 419, 534. Ref: 2. V.C.H., Vol. 4, pp.197, 213-5, 218.

If you google 'Polhampton Village' there are a good few hits...Particulary interesting are maps over a couple of centuries of the area.

Go to Janssons Hampshire 1646, click cached, find the yellow highlight for Polhampton and click the box to the left of the name. You then get a selection of maps from 1575 to 1788.....Lucky you :))))

Yep just had a look at Overton closely, there is a Polhampton Farm there, could be that, the family are from Overton.

Thanks everyone, off to NA to have a look, any more ideas will be welcome.

If you have a look on the NA site and put in Polehampton alot comes up for it as a family name BUT page 3 of the search has an entry for Polhampton, Overton. The entry itself probably has nothing to do with your research :)

There a school called Polehampton in Wokingham Bershire, maybe its round them sides

Anyone familiar with old english placenames? I have just found a marriage in 1629 between Alice Corey (or Covey) at Deane, Overton Hampshire, and a Steph Lovell of Polehampton. I can't find Polehampton anywhere....help????
