It usually depended on whether they had family members already in Canada to help them get started. A lot of immigrants ended up in Toronto, Ontario. Many went to British Columbia where the weather is more like the weather back home. Rain!
If they did go to British Columbia, they have the best online records. Death records go up to 1986.

Can anyone tell me please what were the most popular areas of Canada to emigrate to in 1970. The family lived in Southampton before they emigrated.
